  • In this video i will show you how to setup AI in waves with single units and squads,
    that will follow a waypoint and respawn when killed.

    Eh I made it! My first scenario. Figured out how to set a respawn for my faction too. Like an endless defense scenario. Ion vs Tura. Once I tweak it more I'll add it to the workshop as my first scenario😎

    Now I can set up endless waves attacking a defensive position. Just got to place a bunch of extra allies around. Could also do a tactical retreat with this. Thank you👍
    Ion defending the mine. Getting attacked by endless waves of Tura insurgents. That would be fun😅

    how can you make them spawn in waves, like, all together at the same time. for example, once the squads is killed entirely, they all spawn with their initial squad. like if "the squad" has multiple lives.
    any idea?

      Idk would have to be further coded to add a check and a delay.

    Troops seem to lose the Seek and Destroy command when they respawn. Even when changing the courage to 100 and retreat to 0, after the troops respawn they just sit on the respawn site. Thoughts?

      Are they grouped? Are you using any AI mods?

      Welcome, for vehicles it depends on what you want them to do, if you just want static vehicles to respawn so you can use them and go somewhere then you can use the respawn position module and set it for vehicle type.
      For vehicles to respawn and patrol theres various methods that can be done, if you want something specific to respawn then you can try my RYD_PT Patrol script, you can customize what vehicles will spawn and respawn them based on timer, or area trigger or even radio trigger.
      Another option without scripts is to use a vanilla function where you can spawn a group of vehicles, theres a video for that, you add the code, choose what what vehicles and they will spawn and patrol, how you respawn them will be based on your intent with them, to consistent respawn and patrol you can set up various area triggers that will spawn the vehicles to patrol when a player or ai faction enter the trigger, so alot of variables to play with.

      Make sure the variable name in the marker is correct it should be ----> respawn_guerrila

    This is a really bad way to do this. There are scripts people have made that do this way easier and in half the time to set up.

      Arma 3 is a sandbox, its whatever works for you, here im mainly demonstrating how to get the ai to respawn and move with a waypoint, its not about efficiency here, its just a simple demonstration to show functionality of setting ai to playable to enable them to respawn.
      Again its just one way of doing something, obviously theres more efficient ways to spawn ai in ways via script, but if you want something simple and stupid you can throw together for 20-30 min of fun or to get an idea about something then the rough draft here can work.
