      I'm not saying that we should get rid of it all, but I am saying that we should be very responsible & very careful where & how we use it. When you have cashiers who can't remember how to do their job in a blackout, or hackers that can take over cars, houses, infrastructure... you have huge problems.

    • @ShyanTheLegend
      @ShyanTheLegend 6 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      Noah Kaminer-Vickers one thing you have to know is that the threat of terrorism was just a scapegoat that enabled this to happen.
      After 9/11, new laws came to pass. In the US it was the patriot act. The NSA began collecting metadata and were given rights to spy on individuals. The UK equivalent were given similar powers.
      Realize how important metadata is. If you can analyse the metadata you can analyse the people's behaviours. The government now possess this information.
      This information is used under the excuse to combat terrorists. No terrorist attack has ever been stopped by the collection of metadata.
      Terrorism is not a major threat. There are far more Iraqis and Syrians being killed by terrorists every day than anyone in the UK or us.
      All that was achieved through this is that we lost certain liberties and the government gained more power. Terrorism isn't defeated and bombing Syria and Yemen will never stop it either.
      It's a really sad time tbh. Feel so powerless seeing people get fucked over for no reason.

Especially, Muslim countries that are constantly at loggerhead with Israel first need to be pragmatic and understand that you can't really compete if you're so far behind at the IT sector and start taking lessons form their rivalry and "seriously" teach about IT sector and how this led to the success of Israel. And perhaps we can do it too.

    The thing about this is they don't tell you that the reason most cars that are mostly susceptible to hacking, are done on purpose. Most of the time, hardware and software, are built with administrative back-doors. Governments around the world either pay tech producers to put in back doors, or compel them using other unsavory means. I am not saying that there are times where flaws or bugs are discovered completely by accident, just that "flaws or bugs" are mostly known about prior to release.

    • @dranzerjetli5126
      @dranzerjetli5126 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TJ.Lewis although I don't think unless you have a closed system nothing is unhackable and exploiting code is something hackers do in a regular basis and the car was connected to the Internet

    • @TJLewiskoolaidman
      @TJLewiskoolaidman 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even closed systems can be hacked, by definition. I understand that hackers do this on a regular basis. The point I was trying to get across is not that these things cant be hacked, and the only reason they are is solely done because of some conspiracy. I was saying that the portrayal of IOT and gadgets like it, are frequently released with known flaws or bugs. The people that make these IOT and gadgets release them, with both known software or hardware flaws or bugs. Never the less, it is more frequent that bugs and flaws are intentionally added or ignored because of financial reasons. Both malicious and negligent alike.

    • @dranzerjetli5126
      @dranzerjetli5126 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TJ.Lewis hmm I get your point now you mean these bugs and flaws that isn't fixed and is only fixed through updates and in between these flaws can be utilised by third parties but then again intels flaw wasn't caught for quite some time and only recently it was caught so the backdoor was open for quite some time hmm you may actually have a point there.

    • @TJLewiskoolaidman
      @TJLewiskoolaidman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right..... Now I am not saying that these companies are wrong for doing so. Especially when you spend a lot of money making a product. You will definitely have some sort of flaw and bug, it could be very very small. Or it can pose a substantial security risk. It all depends on what they deem acceptable. But if you want to know which companies do shady things, look at their speed at which they apply or push an update to fix security flaws. If it seems a little to fast..... They knew about it, probably for awhile, probably was put there intentionally.

    • @dranzerjetli5126
      @dranzerjetli5126 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TJ.Lewis hmm interesting yep you are right so they may already have some sort of understanding between other third parties to let them use the backdoor they kept open and yeah bugs and flaws occur but the time of updates they release is an indicator of their knowledge of the bug so its like day one patches in games. So I wonder did Intel know and through understanding between some third parties kept it quiet until they can redesign a new product and fix the flaw then let everyone know

      Except violent people are usually the first to throw fists. You do know that if intelligence always overcame violence, we'd be so much further than we are as a society? Because there's a hell of a lot of intelligent thinkers we've lost to violence throughout history and it doesn't often work the other way around.

Unfortunately for them their future is bleak. They won't be able to sustain a country this evil for long.
