Meeting the FBI spy at a bar to confirm that anonymous are, in fact, anonymous, is brilliant.
Yeah that was pointless. Just not have got anything useful from that interview.
The only thing I got out of that is that governments don't like protests that they can't ignore
What I got from this is that Anonymous is the goverment.
@@DoDaDaDaDaCaDa or reincarnation of 1840's~ jonn brown and his men, one of them i believe was Samuel price 😉, or early experience with UAW and coal mining protesters etc, government officials or elites will not contain that as this has been tried before historically and fails in some cases escalated into civil war etc
war crimes that anonymous members exposed was the right choice as if Germans 1946 can't do horrible things neither should the USA 🇺🇸 etc same for scumbag corporation/elites they should be held accountable for their choice's and actions equally, as far as some of A acts/method's im on the fences about or at least sympathy to as a group but count me out joining/associating them in general, political ( even mid-riots, as it's better to let steam-off then assignation/coo's happen etc ) protests should be protected as the other outcome is violence or failed-government which is worse outcome's
Anonymous just like mist Americans don't believe in sourcing your information on history. I mean they were there to see moors as white people. Maybe Anonymous can time travel.
The problem with trying to pin down Anonymous is that it’s not REALLY an organized group. There is a core of high level hackers that interact with one another, but it’s closer to a movement than a singular organization.
a core ? are you even on the IRC rooms ? hackers are a very small part of most ops everyone has skills to offer in most ops. And as for the hacking most ops use well know vulnerabilities known as CVEs no real pentesting needs to be done in most cases. Of course. The “law” exists for us only.
The crazy thing is that if you really think about it, the corporations the government protects doesn't even contribute in a meaningful way. They're all evading taxes, etc. So what am I missing? Seems like the government would tell corporations "good luck"

Shawn Henry recommends legal avenues of cyber protesting. I've tried protesting a local smelter and raising awareness to the danger of toxic metal fumes and Ring, the doorbell camera company, took down my posts and wrote that their service was not to be used for political purposes. Public Health should never be political.
WOW that is ridiculous
what happened? did u use your doorbell footage and post it online?
Local AQMD requires 6 or more people during off hours to call before they will dispatch an inspector. A lighter than daytime crew, large area to cover and contributions to local politicians and school district prevent any meaningful investigation. Most offgassing is done after business hours. The smelter is directly adjacent to a junior high school. An indoor gymnasium was even constructed with donations from the foundry. The odor is strongly metallic and slightly chlorinated. I have canvassed the area and neighbors report the issue when asked, but not really motivated to call or too busy to notice. Complacency is what this company is depending on to continue operating.
@Player-pj9kt Specifically, no. My Ring cameras only cover the immediate area. I typically would post a notification when they offgassed and provided the phone number asking neighbors to report the foundry. That was enough to get my posts removed.
Everyone knows ring can only be used for their own corpo political purposes.
This is from their Cyberwar series and is quite old, seems many people don't know that. All episodes are a must watch!

With the camera angles, those railroad tracks and that crossing, the fact Vice straight up gave his country of origin away (he said Canada, not me), it would be incredibly easy to pin Bio down. For a hacker he should probably know better. Makes me think Vice slapped a bandana on a kid and told him to start talking hacker.
I agree. I very much doubt the person interviewed in the end is the real Bio. And I don't think VICE intended for us to believe he was either.
It's just a stylistic choice to have someone stand in and act out Bio's answers rather than going the classic route of darkening or blurring the shots.
The Canadian government doesn't give two shits about some skid with LOIC. Anonymous has been a complete joke ever since it was founded and doubly so in the last few years, no one cares enough to track him down.
It could be a text interview with the real Bio. Then VICE found an actor and replayed the conversation.

Man I wish they would go after the truly evil companies like insurance and credit bureaus.
They have done credit bureaus I believe, insurance companies have been regular hacked but likely would be a huge liability if they made a big public fuss.
However, I'm aware of scammers blackmailing an elderly man running a financial business and they nearly wiped him out. Really sad... But that wasn't anonymous, just scammers.
As an IT specialist, my honest best advice is to store as much private info in paper files offline.
For voting, in person, paper ballots with purple thumb ink.
Perfect security is impossible, especially if the software requires maintenance or logins that people often forget, so someone needs to gain access on a locked system, hence backdoors and keys for the IT specialists. So there's always a built in vulnerability besides any accidental ones. 😎👍
evil governments
They've gone after many people, companies, countries, etc. They're more about the world rather than just the US or one country. They've helped with finding evidence on the Epstein case, punishing bad leaders/government in diff countries, provided aid to people in need and more. I used to be part of Anonymous while ago. We were a movement that was structured by a process, we were never an organisation. I still don't know anyone by names, we all used username, P2P channels, we had to collaborate on tasks that we believe they helped humanity in general and that was the only common thing. We voted on many things to avoid any bias in many decisions and that's pretty much it from my experience. I used to be part of operations in WikiLeaks about the Arab spring, the Israeli occupation, and US elections.
Thank you❤❤❤❤ you are being a voice for the voiceless and helping fight back against oppression
Oh you were? What was your handle back then?
I dunno if you remember me…
LMFAOOOO
I don"t know if you are lying, or if you were lied to, but there is no "process" inside anonymous or anything like that. Anonymous is a descentralized movement, the groups that call themselves anonymous can have a process and even a hierarchy, but they are only a part of the movement, there was lots of well know groups that called themselves anonymous, some good, others not so much, and there always will be since anyone can say "I am an anonymous". Nowadays, most people who calls themselves anonymous is just a script kid, lammer, or a troll. Big groups who make large data breaches and use the name anonymous do that because it is a great marketing strategy, and it is no secret to anyone, after all, if your company is being attacked by a group who call themselves anonymous and you are not an expert, you are most likely to pay what they are charging you, because it is a "group" that you know that have made great things before. But probably it is not event them who are attacking you, and just a bunch of indians making scams in small companies
it’s ironic @7:16 he says Stealing and breaching isn’t a way to go about something but this whole nation is built on that 🤦🏾♂️
Yeah a very messed up world we live in, with many ironies. Same as arresting drug dealers, yet the Gubment is the biggest drug peddlers around.

We miss this era.
A DDoS attack doesn't necessarily crash a service, it simply floods it with noisy data so that the service cannot process legitimate data
So essentially it "crashes" the service, what you just described lol. Its in the name. Denial of service.
@@DoubleStandardGaming crashing implies it has stopped working completely. Overloading it through a ddos attack isn't strictly crashing it, it's just decreasingly the likelihood of authentic data being processed.
@@AnEntityBrowsingYTthat is true, but at some point like if only 10% of the processed data is legitimate, and, or, its users have problems its a crash. Todays ddos attacks are more sophisticated tho, and so are the counter measures. Its an ongoing battle for both sides.
In computing, a crash, or system crash, occurs when a computer program such as a software application or an operating system stops functioning properly. So, a successful DDoS attack does leads to a crash. And nowadays it is not so hard if you have money to do it, there are giant farms made for you to rent and attack an specific target with more than 100 million requests per second
@@JAODc-fo9gf Well i guess that depends on your definition of 'properly'
The system is still functioning, it is processing each request just as it was programmed to do. So I'll hold true to my original comment, A DDoS attack doesn't necessarily mean a service has crashed.
As someone whos been around the block I can definitely confirm "none of these targets where particularly difficult to hack. A 3 year old could do it" is very true. I always tell people those systems aren't as secure as they make it out to be, and the small handful of people that have any kind of knowledge on them can easily find exploits. Or just take a system down entirely.

it's such a good tactic, another group called ALF does the same where if you have the same ideology, you're a part of them.
An "authorized protest" is not a protest, lol.
Yeah, but I thin that's the point, right? That it goes two ways:
Governments can't expect that people will protest using only the "authorized methods," and protesters can't expect that protesting outside of authorized ways will results in anything less than arrest.
@@andrewnavarro1185 I mean only if those being protested don't capitulate, and then choose to use force to subjugate. I mean it doesn't HAVE to be that way, the way you're suggesting. But a protest is, be definition, not authorized. So if a protest is authorized, it is not a protest. Sort of a tautological thing, ya know.
@@SpencerRoberg Protests can definitely be legally authorized and still be protests. There are legal and illegal versions of strikes and marches, and there are consequences for the illegal ones. When they introduced Sabu as the informant my brain immediately kind of put devil horns on his head, but then they mentioned his kids and I immediately went "ohh..." out loud. I think most of us would've done the exact same in his situation. Shows me for jumping to conclusions. Usually when someone does something, be it good or bad, they have a reason for it.
