I have 16 guitars but I like this one. A guitar with its own character. A sound that you can't get out of a modern guitar. And the longer I play the guitar, the less the demands become. At least with me. All you need is just a shelf of strings and if you can get music out of that you are a good musician.
Rebuilding one of these at the moment. Considering how primitive the guitars coming out of the UK were at the time, gawd bless em, this is nothing short of miraculous. A proper trem with intonatable bridge, frets in the right place and a guitar circuit that actually allowed some treble signal through!
I used to have a red one back in the 60's...Traded it in for a Strat' when they were available in the UK. Took me a while to get used to it but been a Strat' man ever since. But wish I'd kept the Futurama 111 now as well...Loved it!
That sounded surprisingly good! I always thought George Harrison's guitar looked pretty cool, for a cheap Fender knock off. Supposedly he recorded the "pre-Beatles" song "Cry For A Shadow" with it.
I had a red one with the 6 tuners in a single line, which gave it more of a Strat look, and sounded great through a Vox AC 30 twin celestial speaker unit. I can't believe I swapped it for a Hofner bass. Still kicking myself!

I remember a guitar made by Futurama that looked like a copy of a Gibson SG. I think it came in two models, a two pickup model and, a three pickup model. Has anyone any idea what it could have been please ?
This guitar is the reason I'm so proud of my motherland.
George Harrison of The Beatles used the guitar as well as shown in the famous Astrid Kirchherr photos during their Hamburg days.
Albert Lee, Eric Clapton .... and many others
@@lenylenyleny Jimmy Page as well
You can go see that actually guitar in the museum opposite the Cavern in Liverpool. It’s a bit worn 😂

One of Syd Barrett's first guitars if not the first. Wonderful child like sound you would envision from Syd.
