Great way to have a great time. It really shows you don’t need a big million yacht to have a good time. Personally I would have more fun building something like this and motoring around than having to deal with a big plastic yacht. I built myself an 18’ wooden center console 15 years ago and I’m still having a blast with it to this day. It’s all I need. I love the idea that he can trailer it to where ever and really gets to see whatever he wants. As for you Doug I feel like you will be traveling the world in the near future and finally getting to enjoy the fruits of your labor. All the blood sweat and tears is going to pay off soon. Enjoy Tim
Second watch to feed the algorithm. I can't wait to see all of the unique and interesting individuals you and the Seeker crew are going to meet as you travel down the river and around the world. Thanks again Doug for another great video.
You called it a SUICIDE KNOB, We called them NECKERS KNOB. Smurf's boat makes an old man want to do the same thing, only with a paddle wheel for power.
Nice, love the name of the boat. I knew a guy who bought one already made and had it hauled to OK from PA... It wasn't good enough so he started "modifying" it. Ended up with a permanent list to the port side because he added extra batteries and a huge multi fuel fridge with an ice maker. Ended up on a trailer from then on out and someone stole the refrigerator out of it. The trailer was falling apart as well and he never fixed it or replaced it. Was sad to see it happen though. Would have loved staying a few nights on the water in something like it sometime. Who knows may make something myself to camp in or spend a few nights down at Lake Murray diving. Had so much stuff going this year I don't even know if I am going to certify my cylinders. But who knows what will happen in the next few months.
Hell no. It would open the door to the soft, and I don't want the soft. First it's AC, then it's electric winches, then they want a TV and video game. : )
WDIDT? Nothing yet (at 2:07am). Waiting for 3:00am or so to apply penetrating epoxy to stringers and sub-frame for the main cabin sole. Just a bit too warm during the day for the epoxy.....
@SVSeeker Entertaining and useful interview. I didn't see anything in your video description ... does Smurf have a TH-cam channel or some other website, contact info?
So funny he brought up Gas cans me and my body get pissed of we build cars and houses and do all kinds of stuff we lern as we go and yet we still can't master the new gas can fill caps
2:49 For those who are wondering why he called it that it is because (I could he wrong) back before power steering, if your vehicle hits something like a big rock that forces the wheel to turn quickly then that nob can break your wrist. If I am wrong correct me.
I would watch the adventures of Spare Parts with Smurf.
I wish all of us, that you meet many more "smurfs" on your travels in the years to come. I love the format.
Smurf is awesome. Love his attitude. AC is a necessity not a luxury.
That boat has seen some places! Very cool.
@4:57 did i hear correctly "Kiss a ?fat duck? in the ass Douglas!!" A joy to experience all the characters you meet along the way!
Yes I think you did. :-)
A super vid with a great water rat, keep these types of videos coming Doug especially when you meet great people like him. 👍👍👍👍
If you find that designer on gas tanks let me know I have a few words for him also. I had to disable the stupid nozzle with a drill.
Great way to have a great time.

What an awesome video and awesome guy.
If it works, it works! Good solution to sailing up and down rivers.
It's brilliant. He just ties off to a snag and spends the night fishing and watching the Eagles.
@@SVSeeker Sounds good!

@@SVSeeker It does indeed. Any more Dougs too. Enjoyed following your journey over the years. Really appreciate your channel. Thank you
Krissy sent me here to watch...AWESOME boat!
Only thing wrong with the boat is the gas tank spout. Not the tank ......just the spout. So true.

Awesome setup!!!!
I love this!
Cool video! I need to unload my houseboat on the river and do a little sight seeing.
St. Jo? What's the ETA?
I am building something similar out of an old pontoon boat and using an old camper for parts. What did he use for siding?
Looked like good old metal building siding. Likely aluminum and screwed into aluminum framing.
Hell ya! Love the boat.
I do too.
Brother from another mother
I really think you should consider some sort of air conditioning for SV Seeker.
Hell no. It would open the door to the soft, and I don't want the soft. First it's AC, then it's electric winches, then they want a TV and video game. : )
And a washing machine.
Love ir

Love it ,my mission is to STOP my boat becoming spare parts !

Has anyone put a school bus on pontoons?
I'm sure there is room for one more even if they have.
@@SVSeeker set it up so it’s going backwards…?
That would be clutch 👍🇺🇸
I have a friend that wants me to build him one of those Huckleberry Finn boats.
Is his name Tom?

Not that I know of, sorry.
@@SVSeeker If you ever run into him again, please ask him if you can post some way to contact him. Thanks.

That sounds good to me.
Not having ac sucks bad. Guys that work in office buildings their whole life sure do like to come up with ways to suffer for fun.
If we follow that analogy, AC makes you weak. Sailboats are not for the weak.
The gentleman that invented that gas can could setup a 1-900 number charge twenty bucks a call a be a billionaire in a year.
.
notice he said "river", not ocean. I think Jaws might let Anaconda take over his job.
