We totally agree about the luggage scale! It is definitely a must have! And yes, the bag protector is also worth it :) Right now, we are looking at Thailand since they are opening up. We hope to be traveling this summer. How about you?
Best, cheap lightweight multi-tool is from Cabela's, $7. If you forget to put it in your checked bag and it gets confiscated you haven't lost much, but still a very handy tool.
Thank you that s the kind of pen i was looking for :-) For the pacsafe net i am not sure yet but might be bettter solution than a dedicated pacsafe bag as i have
Another great episode, thanks! Cannot wait for next Sunday. Is it possible you can do an episode on your diet and intermittent fasting? You mentioned it briefly in your other videos, but we are interested to know more, especially how you can stick to this diet while traveling. Many thanks in advance!
Hi! Thank you so much for the kind words :) And yes! We would love to do an episode on how we diet while traveling. Please let us know of any other questions you may have. Are you traveling soon??
I love your Travel Towel!! I also like natural fibers... I like cotton most of all because I get my t-shirts and under wear made of cotton on Juneteenth to remember the slaves that came to this country!
This is very helpful for my next travel! Have you tried using a duffle bag for your travel? I recommend using the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane. I've been using this bag for months now and it is such a hack. It has a trolley sleeve feature and it fits under the seat too! makes your travel more convenient and effortless and it packs like a suitcase too!
The fact that you suggested the fisher space pen as a travel essential tells me you are seasoned travelers. Not only is it the best pen, but most novice travelers don't even consider the importance of a pen and are left scrambling and frustrated when there is a line of 20 people trying to fill out customs forms using the inkless pen attached to a string at the customs form table that barely works at all, lol.
Hi there Heidi and George. I keep implementing so many of your Japan travel tips. I've now watched at least 12 of your Japan videos and feel prepared for our upcoming July-Aug Japan trip. This video is several years old, so can you please provide links to the following items you would currently (2024) recommend for 1. Travel power adapter 2. weigh scale 3. water bottle 4. Hero Clip & 5. travel daypack (backpack). Thank you.
Hi. I’ll try to get back to you on that soon. For now, you may want to watch the video I just released, which is a Japan Summer Packing List: th-cam.com/video/fUOg3ap_Qis/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VssIm47q7MqcZRm2
@@KenshoQuest yeah, I just started watching it! Looks like you are recommending new items. By the way, am I correct that I can use my USA regular 2 prong connectors in Japan? Not sure why, but I had assumed I’d need some kind of charger or adapter in Japan. Please advise. Also, I’d like to purchase one of your recommended, thin towels. Can you recommend a regular size one? I don’t need a large one.
1. Here's a universal power adapter: amzn.to/3yYHO4a But you are correct, in Japan you can use USA style plugs with two pins. Electronics with 3 pins won't plug directly into the outlets. 2. Here's a luggage scale similar to the one we used for years: amzn.to/3Xs3OhR 3. We've been using Hydro Flask water bottles for years. amzn.to/3Vhq9vW They are a bit heavy, and I bring a brush for cleaning, so it does add weight when packing. Hydro Flask does make a lighter version now: amzn.to/3XmWV1e 4. I like the small size Hero Clip the best, because the bigger ones are heavy: amzn.to/4bXiiuw 5. George is still using the same Pacsafe daypack shown in this video: amzn.to/4ch0H0m It was my bag originally. Here's my review of it from years ago: th-cam.com/video/wU6fgDhYhw0/w-d-xo.html George is still using the exact same bag and it's held up great all these years. 6. We still have our same thin towels: amzn.to/4c24kaN I sometimes pack them, sometimes not. Just depends how light I am trying to pack. We needed them more when staying in Airbnbs. Not as much now that we stay mostly in hotels. For future reference, we do have an Amazon page. I just need to get better at updating it: www.amazon.com/shop/kenshoquest
I posted yesterday a comment regarding having difficulty with the link to Unbound Merino. I’ve figured out that if I use Google Chrome instead of Safari, the link works fine. It may be content-blocks that have been placed on my Safari browser? I can now use your affiliate link!
Hi guys! Thank you for the list. I've been thinking about activated charcoal, so thanks for the link. I just bought a Hydro for us. And I had already bought us all microfiber towels b/c of a recommendation from someone else, but I'm already regretting it as they have to be washed separately. That tiny gimbal camera looks so cool...I got a gimbal that I can use with my cell phone...we'll see if I regret it. It costs half of the price of that compact camera. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to see what I was capturing. Take care!
HI Bethany! Wow, sounds like you guys are all ready for your adventure :) And seems like we have more and more in common ;) We used to use a DJI Osmo phone gimbal and it worked pretty well. What we did not like was that it was a bit bulky and that you had to balance it often. The pocket is great since balancing isn't necessary and you can have it ready at all times. The screen is a bit small but works fine because of the wide angle lens you usually get more in the frame than you actually need. Also, if you shoot in 4K then you can zoom in later ;) So on your phone, if it can shoot 4K please shoot in that mode.
@@KenshoQuest well i have switched to a new phone so the older one will be kept and used as a extra camera, reverse wireless charging’pad, etc Still dzbating if getting a dedicated compaxct camera for zoom alone is a good idea
Dear Kensho & family. This is a wonderful utube you did. I would like to know how do did your vdo, and showing map on-screen on another vdo, Please write down on the screen for each item you use, so that I can see in clear. Sorry, I am not an English native speaker, I can't really cash some words you said as rather quick. Thank you so much. Enjoy Thailand.
Khap khun krap! Passat Thai nitnoy krap. We will try to do close captioning so the text will appear. Thank you for letting us know. We look forward to returning to beautiful Thailand :)
India was just an example of somewhere we have taken overnight trains. It's a common form of transportation for backpackers in India. I haven't been to France or NY. 🌺 Heidi
I made him leave behind the heavy multi tool, and there has been so many times we could have used it this trip! 🌺 Heidi
Very informative thanks.
Great videos!
I bought the pen you presented. Thank you. A boon for my kit.
A portable luggage scale was a game changer for me! And that mesh bag protector looks super neat- thanks for sharing! Where to next?

Why single out just India? France is notorious for pick pockets and so is NY as are many other cities and countries in the world.
