Scream 3 was censored heavily down and written following the events of Columbine so that’s why there’s such an emphasis on violence in media. They decided to focus on the more campy, comedy aspect of the franchise which is why it feels disconnected from the rest. Though personally I think it’s still a highly enjoyable film that I would rank higher than some of the other films. Glad you guys liked scream 4 more and can’t wait to see the next reaction!

Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson totally hit it out of the park with the commentary in this one. To think this came out in 2011 and it's become like 10,000% more relevant today. The mass obsession with fame, the rise of Internet culture, rampant malignant narcissism. Hell, they even managed to parody Scream (2022) a decade before it came out: Young new cast comes in, replacing the original protagonists and taking over their franchise. (Tara & Sam are basically living out Jill's dream aha). Great reaction lads to this chronically underrated movie.
I literally don’t get why scream 3 gets so much hate lol. For awhile I thought it was one of the best ones. And it’s the only one where the motive at the end actually makes sense lol
There was a whole different plot for Scream 3 with Stu having survived and running some kind of high school killer gang of ghostfaces but Columbine happened and they scrapped that idea. Matt Lillard said he still got paid 🤷♀️
Scream 4 is a very good movie but I think Jill didnt die because they never headshotted her, they zapped her and shot her in the stomach and they always come back if you dont headshot them
Check out the Alternate Opening for Scream 4 PLEASE! In my (and many other people’s) opinions its far superior to the one they used and would have set the movie off with a darker/scarier tone
3 was going to be solid as well, but the script kept getting leaked so they kep changing it. Also some real world stuff. There are some good docs on TH-cam that explain how the production went off.
wish they had kept the reboot going, originally planned more movies with kirby as the new sidney scream 5 is good but its basically a slightly worse reboot of 4 scream series ranking is 1, 4, 5, 2 and then 3
I didn't like 5 because they killed Dewey and it also went to far off the source material. The ogs only had like 30 mins. It was also very predictable and anticlimactic.
My only complain about this movie is the contrast on the entire movie. It’s just a little too bright and should of been fixed. With Dewey and Sid, it’s more of like a family relationship. Tatum and Sid were best friends, so it would make sense for Dewey and Sid to become close after everything and surviving.
Scream 4 is pretty good actually. The last scream film Wes directed. R.I.P

From my understanding 3 was a lot different but then columbine happened and they had to act fast on changing 80% of the movie to make the deadline.
