I think you want to make switch from blender to Houdini. We are very happy with blender and maybe some people may consider Houdini for special simulation task.
Regarding the price, it should be added that Blender's plug-ins are all bought out, with lifetime use and subsequent updates included in the purchase, while Houdini is an annual fee system, which requires payment every year.
To be fair, there are tons of Houdini Assets that can do many of these things. Also, if you build it once, you pretty much have an addon to generate many different variations. I also not sure the learning curve on Houdini is crazy high, it's just different and if you never learned any 3d package, not sure you would think Houdini is hard to learn. It only hard if your mental model is attached to a different way of doing something. I also think the quality you get from all the tools in Houdini are really strong, not sure any blender add-on is going to be much better.
yeah, after i started learning houdini am agreeing with this statement even more, its actually not that hard to learn we have just been told over and over that it is so we started believing it
Fanboys who have never installed Houdini and never wondered about it praise Blender. Blender cannot be Houdini's apprentice in any subject, including modeling. It is a completely professional, industrial 3D software. Those who only draw donuts in their lives and talk here should first do some research on why they continue to use Houdini after Blender came out. Don't tell them about their own special plugins etc. Houdini is a brain surgeon and Blender is a newly hired nurse.
Well corporate boy, just because something is 'professional" and "industry standard" does not mean the projects will always come out so good! Actually all the movies, animation, and commercials coming from big industries are stupid, poorly written, racist, boring, look the same, and all the other worthlessness that come out from using "Industry Standard, professional" tools! These big companies need to go out of business for poor business decisions and price gouging!
many haters for Houdini , why ? price is a reason ? No . u can use pirated version , as i do the only reason is that people like to keep their mind/brain unused.
It is not like people hates Hudini. But the video's big claim is not true. Most of the people don't do simulation stuff, so the claim is mostly false and only people switching from blender to hudini only when Geometry node is not enough to do their desired work.
Blender artists are not switching to Houdini. Not sure where you got your information from. Blender is free and much easier to use and in my opinion, it’s better than Houdini.
This sounds desperate... Listen no other application has as much online support than blender. Given time there is nothing that Houdini can do that blender can't.
Yes, I work in the industry and day after day I can see more Houdini artists using Blender in the workflow for modeling and Houdini for procedural, because Houdini support huge scenes, but for modeling is not the best tool for that. All are features to improve the workflow, just features.
not really, houdini is extremely affordable. If you buy the indie version 2 years at a time it averages to like $16/month which is the same as a netflix subscription
@@blendereverything my dude, Houdini indie license is almost 270$ a year. all addons in blender only offer the same functions in blender with less clicks. if you're experienced in blender, you can live without them. also the only advantage Houdini have over blender is simulations and the most expensive simulations addon in blender market is almost 80$ one time pay and updates are free. also most of them are GPL. If only simulations you're after then go for it but, its hell of a waste of time that you could spend on creativity to go for Houdini for anything else. i talk out of experience. why complicate an already simplified process?
not everyone wants to get that technical when they want to make something artistic. ive learned some procedural workflows. i still like making things manually more...craft vs industrial production i guess. different strokes
I can't imagine anything more difficult than blender. I find it very difficult to use. I ended up using Fusion 360 for guitar designs. Blender isn't really for product design in my opinion, definitely an effects and animation product. My goal is to learn it this year and make a few short movies. They need to make a 3D system for dummies like me! LOL
I don't know too many people, or studios for that matter, who use houdini exclusively in their pipeline. Most people use it with either Maya or Blender or some other professional level application to accomplish specific tasks in a high level production. For almost everything else, their pipeline is driven by Maya, for example.
No company uses Blender as an industry standard. Instead, they utilize software like Maya, 3ds Max, Houdini, Katana, and others. Nowadays, almost all high-end films use Houdini for simulations. Blender still has many problems to solve. However, its being free and easy to use makes it attractive for hobby artists.
@@batucenk3997 Blender already has a significant share of new job postings. It's delusional to still talk about 'industry standard' nowadays. In a way blender for "beginners" and generalist houdini for Pro's. Blender is exponentially getting better. At some point houdini will be an enthusiast blender relic add on.😊
Houdini's growth rate is much higher than you think. Studios that used Biofrost just over 10 years ago have now switched to Houdini. Blender will stay out of this race unless it offers a full-time support system and changes the render engine, which is bootnet.
You can't compare $200 worth of add ons you own permanently to a $200 annual license. Unless youre making good money off houdini, it makes absolutely no sense to switch
Houdini is only worth if you are making simulation type things but it is not the case always because we have to do complete project that need modelling and other 3D task in which Blender excels.
stick to blender. soon they will work on the simulation aspect of it which is the only advantage Houdini have. houdini will face 3ds max fate. only indians and old timy artists will still be using it. 😂

Blender artists are not switching to any other 3d software for blender keep improving every day so don't lie to anyone

we are not falling for it

Can Houdini open with a default cube? I don't think so. Not everyone wants simulations lol
Blender is good for smaller projects but anything commercial or professional is going to be done in Houdini
Define 'professional', because anything that is paid is professional work, and there are plenty of Blender users who are professionals.

hahahah , in your dream
Ah, at 0:52 I'm pretty sure that was the HorseFacePlant node in action. Man, Houdini sure is specific at times.
i switched from blender to houdini and im really happy with it sure its hard as fuck but it is more logical
People didn’t get that the title is just click bait

Blender only relying on add ons.
