so i got my uconnect navigation map update pack today and install it to my car. My navigation is now working. Nomore "Can't Unlock Maps" thanks for your video it saved me a fortune going to my dealership.
@@miloo318 they tried to say that to me too and wants me to purchase their software update installation but i did not...dealership will tell u to replace the radio too I'm glad i didn't.
This worked on my 2015 Journey Crossroad. Paid a little more than $200 cdn and received usb in a few days. Make sure to follow the detailed instructions carefully and be patient while updating. Don’t forget to update the radio and gps software first as instructed.

This happened to my 2016 Jeep Patriot and the map update fixed it, it's been working perfectly for almost a year now. If you have this issue, I recommend this method first.

I searched online for map updates and ended on a Mopar website that asks for model year: it then says that the map updates for 2013 vehicles have been discontinued; they only carry maps for the last five model years. FIXED... I just did a 2016 Dodge Journey update with the NAV 2020 update for a client. This vehicle had the issue described in the video.. ***Make sure the in-dash touch screen has all of the current operating updates. If downloading the operating updates and doing them manually via USB, wait 20-30 min after the GARMIN firmware update. (the original NAV maps will still be unavailable at this point) If you try and do the MAPS update too soon, the touch screen will not recognize the GARMIN MAPS update USB. Follow all instructions enclosed with the new MAPS UPDATE.. The update takes about 30-60 min.. keep the vehicle running.
This would be great except my Satnav screen has gone blank. Everything else works fine. Last year I got the map update pack and followed the directions but the Satnav would not recognize the USB port. Any suggestions?

I had navigation on my 2018 journey and noticed that some roads were missing. So I did the upgrade thing and it completely wiped out all of the Maps and gave me the "can't unlock maps" message

I tried the Chrysler navigation site link listed for my 2014 Dart and it says “The map update for this navigation system is discontinued and is no longer available for purchase through this site or at dealerships.” Anyone experienced this and have a solution?
Unfortunately they discontinued most 2013 2014 updates this year, if your unit ID does not come up on the webstore then there is not an update available

Did that and the map is still locked. And no files is shown after downloading and updating. Dealership stated that the car needs diagnostic test to see why the map is still locked, which cost $255 for test.

Wow this is ridiculous. This should have wifi and automatically update once a week or month as your car is parked outside your house...corrupt data seems like a deficiency... This is my last Dodge product ! Absolute junk !
Recalls are for items that cost them more money in litigation than actually taking care of the customer. They won't recall this because it's a cash cow for them.

My GPS wouldn't unlock maps beginning yesterday. I have called HERE, the dealership, and UCONNECT and the response I got from UCONNECT was that my radio was going bad and I should contact the dealership to get it replaced. I asked if I could buy updated maps and the response was that I needed a new radio. Anyone else get this type of response? Now I'm at a loss as to what I am supposed to do.
Yea it's terrible! It should, it has fixed many maps with the same error. It's just corrupted software that the update overwrites and gets things working again

I just can’t believe no one who I talked to recommended anything other than replacing the radio but TH-cam fixed it no problem. Even HERE the place I gave 160 bucks for the updated maps didn’t tell me to try it. Thanks a ton. To any doubters, it worked on my Dart first try without the slightest bit of issue!
I’ve heard that they no longer support some “older” vehicles, but I haven’t looked into it. I bought the update from bar in and it came on a usb stick. Downloading them from the web wasn’t working out
I think this is ridiculous and another example of how the journey is not the greatest vehicle I had a Dodge Durango before and it was a thousand times better dude. Seems like my maps and GPS was hacked by an outside source, I've been bombarded lately, appreciate your great information... but I have to say I thought I was going to miss the Christmas holidays by the time you explained the situation I mean really you could say that in exactly half the time just speeded up people don't have that much time to sit around like it's a bedtime story sorry man but it was torture waiting for you to get to the point.
The dealer did the update for me and it didn’t work, when they saw it was unsuccessful they said you need a new radio. Why do I need a new radio if only the maps has a problem???!!
I had my radio switched and it wasn't new because when I called Sirius to switch my service they said it was a jeep Cherokee. I drive a dodge journey. Same problem came up after a year.

This happened to my 2016 Jeep Patriot and the map update fixed it, it's been working perfectly for almost a year now. If you have this issue, I recommend this method first.

I really wish he would clarify if we should still order a 2020 to fix our 2014 or other years systems

If I remember right it has to be activated online and only good for one VIN unfortunately

Yea, as I said in the video, this is the fix the dealership does to get it working again. This cost $155 instead of nearly $4000 for a new head unit

Was your software version 7.09 before the map problem? Mine is having the same problem but it already has software version 7.09. 2016 journey R/T
