I'm sure those are ring-necked parakeets making the racket, a pied wagtail couldn't muster the frenetic massive squawking. The wagtail has a more abrupt chirp chirp call. Please identify and reference the Sanderstead Parakeet Dan! If only Matt Harris could squawk like a parakeet then he'd have everything! Credit to Blind Belief an unbelievably epic village team and a potentially epic rock band name.
Taking a great deal of heart from Andy there. After 8 seasons as a left arm swing bowler, I've switched to right arm off spin as my left ankle and shoulder have now decided that 50 is a good age for them to pack up. In my first game, I was brought onto open the game up, and it worked out beautifully as my first ever spin over went for 28. I have now played 3 games and have 1 wicket at an average of 65. Improvement is there, but it's very very slow...
All I can really do is give that the big thumbs up. Excellent stuff.Don't know what I'll do next week though with no Sanderstead cricket....mind you there is plenty of remastered games to watch!

Thanks - I think we are OK. Our codgers trips tend to be organised with military precision. We’re staying in a massive 14 bedroom house a few miles from Leek. Golf, walking and a barge trip will be intermingled with banter, curry and nightcaps!
Village chat too! Surely someone can stand with the camera fixed in your absence Dan? Some trainage due? Several clubs haven't reached your level and show their games without sound or camera movement. You could edit and add comments on your return?

Too much info about Dan's nocturnal practices😳Max looks like a really decent prospect. As self-appointed Head of the Fines Committee Del and Chris get jugged for scruffy shirtwear, Max and Andy get toilet cleaning duty for non regulatory hair length (Dan is the template) and MHarris gets three credits for his fielding😘
He has always been a very entertaining batsman to watch - I’m lucky to have been watching him for over 40 years, there have been some amazing innings - one time he cleared a bowls green at Holmesdale (Sevenoaks) which was (and still is) rather stupidly positioned at deep square leg whilst he hit something like 65 from 20 deliveries!
Of course! The ground is a batting paradise and when it’s like this 7 an over is easy if a batsman gets in. They had one guy who has scored 79 centuries - and it would be poor form to declare in an overs game! Anyway, it’s all good fun and the oppo will get the revenge at some point as always happens between clubs who enjoy playing against each other no matter what.
This Sunday side is a real “band of brothers” - brilliantly led by Palfers, and churning out an absolutely fabulous brand of village filth! Magnificent.
