Have gone to Fleetwood several times when visiting from the USA... I found it charming, with a wonderful history. It seems that so many in the UK don't realize all the incredible history that is everywhere around them. It's pretty mind-boggling to someone from the "New World." I wish more people in the UK would appreciate and be proud of that history... So many gems to experience. Love from America. 😊❤
The very fact Fleetwood has kind of frozen in time, is part of it's charm. Yes there's not much going on but take a walk on the beach early morning as the sun is rising , it's just serene. Alot of proud fishing history. I for one don't want it to change too much. Looking at the rest of the country why would we. Nice one Charlie. All the best Laura n Ralph👌
It’s depressing how these U.K. towns were gradually destroyed by a policy of managed decline by deliberate design - or as the leftists would call it “interjection and deconstruction” and aside from “regeneration” (vanity) projects by leftist councils that never benefited local people, only served to accelerate the decline - its proof alone of premeditation that happened long before Covid - aside from any other period like the Edwardian era, the heyday of this town was probably in the 1950’s - early 1970’s when decline started to happen in the 1980’s onwards
Why don't you open a shop on a high street to stop the downfall? We can only blame the council so much. Why aren't we helping these towns? Why do we allow this barber, take away, and vape shop monopolies?

@@matthewbellis0 Because they've been full of crackheads around here for at least 20 years. The decline goes like this, even before you bring the internet into it: Nice out of town shopping park built. Shops in town centre start to struggle. Top end shops focus on out of town park. People with a car go out of town. Locals with no transport (due to lack of money) are the only people left. Only crap shops remain. Council houses ne'er do wells in or near town centre. Crack head/chav/other central. There is nothing to draw me to a local town centre (North East England) as I do not require a Turkish haircut/vapes/Pizza/kebak/parmesan/curry. The risk of attack by crackies and new locals is too high.
What rubbish. The decline of our town centres can be reduced to three things - e-commerce, centralised supermarkets and enterprise parks (industrial and business). All three robbed our town centres of their purpose, and it has happened all over the country and around the world. It's nothing to do with council policies; it's to do with a changing world. Unless town centres can provide a reason for people to visit, they won't. Seriously, some people will take any opportunity to blame the government.
Just thinking the same, you can tell by how clean the place looks. There was no old fridges, chairs, beds, pissed stain mattresses in sight. Clean places are usually the sign of a majority English community.
That’s what I was taught, it’s the turbidity of the particles isn’t it? Although to be fair my feet have been covered in oil on a couple of Nortwest beaches 😂 I love them though.
I think it's illegal to not get fish & chips for lunch if you're in fleetwood, certainly a bigger crime than writing shit on facebook at 3AM after you've had a skinful.
Yes van life can be lonely, especially in winter. But thanks to the internet makes things easier. I like the isolation with a different view daily. Also my little dog helps.
The North Euston Hotel was originally the terminus for the west coast mainline as there was no track through the lake district. It was a boat trip from here up in to Scotland. It was called North Euston with reference to Euston Station in London

The mucky colour of the Irish Sea is due to its depth and also because of the regular storms the mud on the bottom gets moved frequently and creates the dirty colour. ❤

You'd be surprised what you can catch fishing on the beach at Fleetwood Charlie, it's mainly a flat fish mark but does see bass in summer a lot of whiting in winter and if your REALLY lucky maybe a cod lol. A seaside town that the government haven’t ruined yet 👌🏼
Yes they have and now it’s even worse with all the immigrates we don’t want
Yet...
Give ‘em time, only a few weeks in…

Are you joking? Fleetwood has been completely economically devastated. It's a town in ruin.

Wot? No headcloths and robes? No chicken or kebab or halal? English town still allowed?
And no groomers?

There used to be a kebab shop there some years ago.
What about shawarma wrapped bread. Is a turkish 🇹🇷 halal food. So do you think this will be halal for you ?
