Thanks so much for your tutorial. Very good helps me out with what we need at the church. Please tell me more about the switcher and the cable used from the camera to the computer ,and I think you stated to the switcher. Thank You !
Thanks for the kind words. So I probably explained it better in this updated video that I made a while back. th-cam.com/video/WlMqe2ARR4Y/w-d-xo.html But the atem mini pro is a switcher and encoder which means you can livestream from it without bogging down your computer. You still need a computer to use it, but it doesn’t have to be directly attached to the atem as long as both are on the network. During initial setup, you need to hardwire together to set it up, but then that’s it. You can run an hdmi cable (out) from the computer to the atem if you want to use some type of media presentation software. Hopefully that helps. Feel free to contact me back with any other questions. Thanks. -Brandon
Hello Brandon.... I have a Canon Xa11 and Toshiba Laptop.. We're Trying to live stream using obs and the xa11 as Webcam... OBS DOESN'T SHOW THE XA11.. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?
One of our congregation member pray and decided to provide Canon XA50 or Canon XA55 and Lord Answered our prayer. So we are planning to buy any one of these camera, but I understand you recommend Canon XA11. But he wanted to provide higher quality camera for live streaming in our church. But I want to know how we can use Canon XA50 or Xa55 for live streaming in our church.
Hey. So as mentioned in the other comment, Its basically the same setup in the video, but just with another camera. Good Luck and let me know if you have any questions.
It is possible but regardless of which camera you have, the majority of them will either need to be attached to an encoder or a video capture device of some sort. I recommend using an encoder (Blackmagic's ATEM Mini Pro), but there are other options. As far as which camera is best for Facebook, a lot of it depends on your environment. Lighting is extremely important and how much light you have will also help you decide what type of camera. When it comes to media equipment, you get what you pay for, but as far as streaming to Facebook, its a little different. You can have the best 4k camera, but Facebook mainly only allows you to stream at 720p. So if it's specifically for facebook only, I would go with a 1080p camera like the Canon XA11. That's what we use....its good for low light filming and it gives you some "growing room" for when facebook decides to upgrade and let everyone stream using 1080p. Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Hey. You actually cannot. The laptop would be just hdmi out instead of hdmi in. You would need to have some type of "video capture device" like this one: amzn.to/3HITJT4 Ive never used one...but my friends who use one weekly use the elgato brand for theirs. If you have any questions or need further help, just let me know. Thanks and good luck.
Our smaller church needs a replacement for the one camera we have. We usually just run a cable from the camera in the sound booth to a laptop via USB or HDMI using OSB software. WE do use a video capture device if needed. Would this camera be capable of doing that or do we need something less expensive? Our auditorium is only 60'X60'. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
The Pentecostals Of Warrenton Hey! So it depends. If you were connecting your old camera via USB, then you would need some type of video capture device...just search on amazon and there are quite a few to pick from that are inexpensive. (Side note...I haven’t ever used one so I don’t want to recommend a particular one) If you were connecting via hdmi, then that means you most likely already have a video capture device. If you can or need to, provide me the model of your old camera and that should tell us quite quickly what to look at. Thanks!
Hi! Do you know why is camera sends only 576p output out to my computer? I have a Canon HF G25, and I use Aten UC3020. I tried everything, and couldn't find the HDMI resolution settings neither on my camera and on computer. Thanks!
Here is a link to last Sunday’s service. Sound is running from x32 using matrix to the atem studio hd. We are still waiting for our atem mini pro to be shipped but it will be for our youth and young adult services. th-cam.com/video/-2q5-IbuooA/w-d-xo.html
It’s an off brand off of Amazon, but we have had zero issues with this one and it’s about 13 months old so far. Here is a link. Thanks. amzn.to/3rvh8Sr
Do I need a switcher or could I just go from HDMI to the usb-c into my computer's input? I'm using a mac book pro and I want to use my HF G50 Canon to livestream events. Will the computer recognize the camera that way (hdmi>usb-c>mac) as a video device to use with FB live or TH-cam?
So you can bypass the atem but you will need some type of video capture device. Also, you would have to use some type of program like OBS or something like that. Elgato is a pretty popular capture device. Hope that helps. Thanks
Hey. So our church uses the canon XA11, but here is a link to another church that I installed this particular camera for. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Thanks so much. th-cam.com/video/En5LMGs5s80/w-d-xo.html
I see your Mac in the background. I’m looking at getting the G50 but I’ve heard it might not be compatible with macOS Catalina? Wondering if you had any info. Thank you.
Hey. So I haven’t heard that, but I’m sure it’s possible that it’s not compatible.... I personally would think though that if you had a video capture device that was compatible, that the camera would be fine. I know that doesn’t help much....hopefully you find the answers you are looking for. Good luck.
Very nice video and explanation, just what I was looking for. I have made most of the purchases to do our churches Live streaming, however I guess I'm not as savvy as you are in this setup. I have the Canon G40 camera and the elgato Camlink capture device hooked up to my laptop. My problem is that I can't Facebook to stream. I have the stream key, but I've messed up somewhere, since I can't get a stream to facebook live. Cables are only 20' long. I can see what the camera see's and hear the sound, but it always says "can't fetch Facebook" in OBS when I hit start streaming?? any help appreciated.
Hey. Thanks for the kind words.honestly...I haven’t dealt a lot with OBS so I doubt much of what I say will help. I know dealing with the atem mini pro, you have to enter in the persistent stream key. So I would check to make sure it’s the persistent one because I believe there was another option. This other part I’m not sure about either, but I know with the atem mini pro, you have to “go live” on Facebook like you’re creating a post as well as going on air on the atem. I’m not sure if something even remotely was going on with this, but that’s really all I got. Sorry I couldn’t help more. Good luck.
With OBS, if you haven't figured it out is that you have to have the persistent key, go- live in OBS. You should see the camera in FB and then go-live there as well
Hello awesome video! Were in the process of getting a better set up for live-streaming in our church. I came across a package with the Canon G50. How would you compare this camera to the Canon G50?
Lydia Lacy Hey. Thanks for the kind words. As far as the G50, I haven’t used it personally, but according to the specs on it, it seems pretty good. I would say that if you get a really good deal on it, then definitely consider it. 4K video quality is better than 1080, but if it is strictly for live-streaming, just remember that TH-cam only streams at 1080p currently and Facebook only does 720p unless you’re with a specific company...then it allows you to go up to 1080p. So...if it’s a good deal, consider it...but my opinion is that just because it’s a 4K camera...doesn’t mean it’s worth the extra cost. It might be overkill for your set up. Hope that helps. Good luck!
I just want to help. Why are you buying expensive video cameras? You can do the same thing with a webcam for 25$ and save the church a $1,000 or more. Look up many of us professional TH-camrs and you will find NONE use video cameras. Even live TV doesn't use them any more, that is why they have come down in price by 50%. Get an DSLR for 50% of the money (Canon has great software to use), and you have a camera that will do more than just do you live cast. The camera can also be used for stills on your websites and missions. (Suggest the Canon M50, since it is mirrorless)
Hey. I don’t believe you can unless you have extra hardware like a video capture device and to be honest, by that point, it would be cheaper to get a small tv, computer monitor or a field monitor. Here is the link for a video capture device if you still want to try it, but like I said, I would probably just go another route unless you are planning to stream from the laptop. This particular one requires a usb 3.0. amzn.to/3ve9coB If you’re trying to do a setup and need help, just contact me back and I will be glad to help. Good luck.
Brandon, Great information on your video, honest and simply said. I looked at the ATM mini and it's still on back order. Question. I have two Canons xa20 & xa30 both with hdmi out. Does the HDMI out of the camera send the nat sound captured by the camera. When you just have the aux out it doesn't sound live. Thoughts.?? Note both cameras have nice mics on them to capture the sound from our worship service.
Hey. So...the hdmi will send the same audio out as well. If by some reason it doesn’t, it may be a setting, but I don’t think that should happen to you. I have the canon xa11 at our church and ilI have not seen a setting that would turn it off. But...it honestly would probably sound better coming from the sound board if you would like to look into that. I know you are still waiting on your atem mini but just an idea when it does come in. Depending on your sound board, some of these items may differ...but you should be able to run a cable from your sound board (whether it be xlr (mic cable) or 1/4 down to the 3.5mm adapter needed. Don’t let all of that scare or confuse you. If you’re not sure what I am talking about, feel free to let me know what sound board you have and I should be able to point you in the right direction. Sometimes camera mics are okay but other times in certain environments, they can have a hollow sound to them because they are picking up sounds from the entire room. Just a few thoughts to consider. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.
Clement Sowah So...basically how I have started doing it our church is basically I have a camera on the side that is stationary and set at more of a wide angle. Then the main camera, I am able zoom it in and out to make different video clips. Both cameras are ran into our atem and I just use the switcher to switch between the two. The link below is from our church service this past Sunday. It’s not as polished as I want, but I was short handed and so it’s the best I could without help. th-cam.com/video/VwvIIumsX6A/w-d-xo.html Keep in mind that even though it looks like there are quite a few camera angles, this was with only 2 cameras. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
brother ,by any chance do you have in your church some body who speaks Spanish? there are many small congregations in the spanish countries that need your information.great video, God bless your time and work into this tutorials.
Thank you. I truly appreciate the encouragement to grow into other avenues and reach beyond the current setup. I would love to, but unfortunately....I don’t have anyone that is in my area that could translate for me. Some of my friends speak Spanish, but not enough to ensure good quality contender. Hopefully in the future we can expand to that though. When I showed this message to my wife, she said it really is an important thing that we need to look at. So hopefully soon. Thanks again.
Hi ALL THINGS SMALL CHURCH, thanks for sharing this. If I use this type of Camcorder as my video capture device, and use OBS to live stream; my understanding is that the OBS will do the "recording" job while streaming at the same time. Meaning to say, on the Camcorder itself I can just shoot lively, zoom in, zoom out etc without having to press "record" button. Is that correct? Please bear with me, I'm just starting to learn Live stream, thanks a lot in advance, and God bless you!
Hey. So sorry...I must have missed your comment last week. I have some experience with OBS, but not a ton. But my understanding is that you will need a camera, some type of capture card for your computer for hdmi input and that should get you started. Depending on your audio setup, you may need some type of audio interface if you want to input audio from a sound board to your computer...but that may not be necessary. Thanks
@@ALLTHINGSSMALLCHURCH Thank you so much, I'm going through some issues connecting a Canon Vixia HF R800 as a webcam for live streaming and it has no response or detection once connected. As a small church, what would be the best option for staying within a budget but still getting continuous streaming and at least 1080p; Getting a camlink or capture card, and if so would it be best to get an Elgato or go with another company.
St. Mark's Episcopal Church Haines City, FL Hey....just a few questions. How are you currently trying to have it setup...like what type of cable? Are you paying for any streaming software or are you trying to use OBS? What’s your budget and what are you Trying to stream to (Facebook, TH-cam, or some other platform)?
Hi All things church, thanks for the video, quick questions, 1. does the G50 give you clean HDMI out? 2. when the HDMI cable is connected does it allow you to see the footage in the flip out screen? 3. does it Autofocus on its own while streaming? Thank you in advance.
Hey. Glad to do it. 1. Not sure on the G50. I have a canon xa11 and This video is on the G21. I will answer the other according to the g21 in case that would help. Yes for #2 #3 does auto focus unless you turn it off. I would assume G50 would too, but not sure. Good luck and thanks!
Thank you for you great video. I have a question please. How do you prevent the XA11, in our case XA10 from shutting down on its own when you are live streaming? For live stream, you don’t want to record on the SD card, rather you want to send the signal out of the HDMI port. Would the camera know this automatically when it detects the HDMI cable insertion? Thank you
Hadi Alavi Thank you. And It’s been a while since I have had to look at that, but I can let you know tomorrow evening. I believe it’s a power setting that just needs to be turned off. And correct on the rest. I believe I also had to turn off the on screen markers (wording) on the output so they wouldn’t show up on the hdmi output. They still show up on the camera though...just not on the output. I will let you know though.
Thanks for the video. Helped us settle on getting a G21. How good is that shotgun mic? You give the example of announcement videos. Does it actually provide quality audio for that or does it still sound like listening to someone on a speaker phone? Got any videos using that mic I can check out?
Lorenzo Smith it works pretty well. I do have one video I am posting the link for at the bottom from a devotion my wife did at our home with that camera. We were just testing it out before I installed it in another church so that’s why I don’t have any other recent videos. I think it’s very good quality. If you want another option, Rode has a “Wireless Go” mic that is $200 that is really good. They have an additional lapel that attaches for like another $80 if you want to go that route. But the shotgun mic is good quality in my opinion. th-cam.com/video/jll5tSR1TGU/w-d-xo.html Thanks
It is, but as with most video cameras, you will need some type of encoder to take the camera feed and puts it online. I recommend looking at the ATEM Mini Pro if you are on a budget. Here is a link to a video that I am uploading now. It will be available tomorrow morning. Thanks. th-cam.com/video/wXfCr14HcDo/w-d-xo.html
Kimberly Dove Hey. Im assuming you are talking about the ATEM mini pro that was mentioned in this video. If not, let me know which atem and I can check it out. As far as the ATEM mini pro, it actually doesn’t matter. You use a computer to set up your settings and you can also control things from your computer. You would attach the ATEM to your network by an Ethernet cord to your router or switcher. Do you don’t have to have a powerful computer for that part specifically. If you’re running some type of media presentation software like pro presenter, then you would want to consider a good quality computer. I’m an Apple fan, but I also understand they have a high price tag. Our church bought an iMac about 3 years ago for our pro presenter and it’s been great. It was about $3500. On the other side, a computer guy in our church built one for another department for the same thing. It works well and it was only about $1500. If you go pc, lean more towards a gaming computer if you don’t have someone that can build you one. If you go Apple, I would go with an iMac with a solid state drive (SSD) with 1 terabyte if storage...and on the processor, I wouldn’t go below 3.2 with at least 16gb of memory. But like I said, That’s if your looking for media presentation stuff. But for the ATEM, your good. Feel free to ask any other questions.
Hey. Im so sorry. I cannot confirm that it does. I wish I could give you a for sure answer...but with it being discontinued and the legria series...I just could find enough information. Good luck!!
does this camera produce 1 single video file when you hit the record button and say you record for 45 minutes straight, or does it break the video into like 10 minute segments?
Hey. So unfortunately it does break about every 10 minutes. It does great for livestreaming and if you were recording through a external device like an atem mini but no so much on recording straight to an sd card. Good luck.
@@ALLTHINGSSMALLCHURCH thank you for your reply, I'm glad I decided to look into my note9 yesterday I went into the pro video mode and did a test. In pro video mode the note 9 at least on my phone I recorded 1-1/2 hrs and its broken into 55min 50sec segments!! Wow I'm impressed, and the video quality is absolutely crystal clean sharp awesome!
Hi Brandon, Thanks for this video. We are trying to get a camcorder in my church for live streaming (Facebook and TH-cam). we got a good offer for Canon XA40 but I discovered it doesn't have wireless connection like the canon XA11. which of these two camcorder do you think is best for live streaming? Thank You
Hey. So Sorry about the delay. I completely overlooked your question. My bad. As far as your question...unless I am just missing it, the XA11 doesn't have a wireless connection either. I use it multiple times each week for 2 years. If it's there, the settings for that option are hidden very well. Honestly...hardwired is more reliable as well. As far as the camera, normally I just say get the XA11 because Facebook won't stream above 720p in most cases and TH-cam will only go 1080p. So a 4k camera is kind of overkill. But....if your deal is pretty good, its definitely something to consider. That being said...the XA11 is a great camera and I feel like you would be pleased with either. Good luck. Let me know if you have any other questions (and I will try to answer a little more quickly).
Victor Cipriano Hey Victor. Unfortunately I live in Louisiana so I’m about 12 hours (driving) from Indiana so financially that’s probably not an option. But I will be happy to help with any questions or anything. Feel free to email me too if you would like. brandon_anders@hotmail.com
Great video, but I'm still confused on hardware needed. I want to livestream with my Vixia, but I'll be 15' or less from the computer. I'm thinking I don't need the black box, as I can plug the hdmi into the computer directly. Do I still need the USB connection to stream on the web? I'm not sure what hardware that would be. Can you help?
Hey. So...for under 25’, you can just go with a good quality hdmi cable. If you ever go longer than that, I would say to consider looking into the sdi to hdmi adapters and cables, but for now you are good. However, you can’t just plug into the computer directly. It’s a common mistake, but you need some type of video capturing device. If you have a computer AND an available Ethernet port on your network, I would say check out blackmagic’s ATEM mini Pro. It’s mentioned in this video, but not shown due to it wasn’t available yet. However, I will be posting a video soon. When it comes to livestreaming, unfortunately it’s one of those things that you get what you pay for. If the ATEM mini pro is not in the budget right now (around $600), you can probably find some type of capture device that’s cheaper, but it will limit your quality of your presentation greatly. I’ve helped install the atem mini pro in 3 other churches and they have been pleased with the results. Just something to consider. Let me know if I can help or if you have any other questions. Thanks.
@@ALLTHINGSSMALLCHURCH Thank you so much for your input. I found that using a USB video capture card will do what I need for immediate streaming and the quality is superb. Thanks for your direction!
Jarhead6 hey. So if it’s like the G21 mentioned in this video, I believe you would go to the second tab in your settings and you would turn off “output onscreen displays”. But since your comment says “had”, Im guessing it doesn’t matter any more. Haha. Thanks for commenting. If you have any future questions, just let us know.
Hey Brandon, Such a blessing to have you help us here! thanks for doing all these; Our church need a camera that can doing close up shooting from a long distance (about 100') What camera you recomend? What described 15x, 20x or 25x optical zoom means? ... I appreciate your advice, thanks again Daniel
Hey. So sorry about the delay. And thanks for the kind words. So....our church uses a camera that has 20x optical zoom. Im not sure what all you know, but I will explain a little and hopefully not insult anyone's intelligence. haha. Optical zoom is always better than digital zoom. The higher the optical zoom, the better in my opinion. For your situation, while a 20x optical zoom will probably get you close to where you want, but I wouldn't recommend going that far. I would run a cable for the camera feed and have the camera a lot closer. The more you zoom, the more sensitive movement on the camera is and so when you try to adjust the camera, it will be a lot more sensitive. But you obviously can give it a shot and you may be pleased with it. I would just keep that in the back of your mind. As far as which camera, I have used the canon vixia that is mentioned in this video (Canon Vixia HF G21: amzn.to/3eebjQY) and I have also used the (canon XA11: amzn.to/3oKUPEJ). I have not tested the vixia as much as I have the XA, but they both have the same optical zoom. I feel like both have the capability to zoom to where you want it to. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.
Is there any special settings on the camera to push the feed to the HDMI port? I have it hooked up to a UltraStudio Mini Recorder and for the life of me I can't get a video feed.
Hey Michael. So sorry about the delay. I didn't see your question until now. I believe it is a plug and play type thing where it should already be set for that. One thing I would try (if you haven't already) is unplug the hdmi cable from the mini recorder and plug it into a tv to see if you have a feed on there. That should let you know if the issue is with the camera (or cable)...or if it is the mini recorder/computer settings. But I will confirm tomorrow when i get to the church whether there are manual settings to select the HDMI port and let you know. Thanks.
Hey. So if at all possible, you really need a hardwired connection to get a reliable connection. So here is a suggestion: If you can run one Ethernet cable to your media booth, you can then hook up a 8 port network switch which will give you 7 additional ports for whatever else and future growth. This is what I had to do at our church. Here is the link to the one that we have. Hope that helps. amzn.to/35GNuOT Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks
Hey. Thanks for checking. Yes you can output your signal to livestream to an encoder and record using the canon xa11. There’s obviously a lot of options out there, but I like the canon xa11. Here’s a link if you need it. Thanks again. www.amazon.com/dp/B0773Y4HTC/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_glt_fabc_YSHTQ0Z118NMQ1X7CDPC?linkCode=ml2&tag=allthingss03a-20
Hey. So....if you have an encoder (ATEM Mini, Mini Pro, Mini extreme or some other type), then you dont have to have a capture card. (Sorry about the delay on responding...I just now saw this) Good luck and feel free to let me know if you have any more questions.
Hey. You technically don’t, but this particular switcher acts also as an encoder. So you will have to have either this or a video capture device. Also having something like this also keeps it from bogging down a computer. So technically you don’t have to…but I would recommend something similar. Thanks
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! Thanks for the video Brother! Our Church dimension is of 70*40. Can Canon XA 11 be used for Live Streaming through OBS? Give me your suggestions please! If Canon XA 11 doesn't meet our requirement, suggest us some good camcorders for our live streaming. Thanks in advance
Hey. So...I like the canon xa11 and our church is somewhat similar in dimensions....but we go wide with our seating instead of long. As far as OBS, most cameras with HDMI out like the XA11 can be used with that program. You will still need to have a video capture device to get the camera feed into your computer for OBS to see it. The following link is for one that a friend has used and it comes highly recommended. I would just make sure that you have a computer that accepts usb type c or you may need to look at another option. amzn.to/2HYFLTj If you don't have usb-c, but you have usb 3.0 on your computer, then this may be an option as well. amzn.to/2JjZnSa There are a lot of options out there. So you may decide to go a little cheaper but a lot of times you get what you pay for. Good luck!!
Hey...so I’m not sure what you mean by initializing it...but It’s basically power on everything and it’s good to go. If I misunderstood, let me know. Thanks so much!
@@ALLTHINGSSMALLCHURCH HI. I was trying to say do you need to push a button or something. I think I have found the reason, I bought a faulty video capture card. Thanks for your help.
Bradon, Let me begin by telling you the equipment we already own. Cannon Rebel T5i, Mini HDMI to HDMI Black Magic Ultra Studio Recorder, IMac, ( connected via thunderblot) and running it off Wirecast. Here is my question, We are wanting to run a 2 camera set up, Canon Vixia HF G21 and our Cannon Rebel. How do I this and what additional equipment would I need? Step by step please. Thanks! Damian.
Hey. Thanks for reaching out. So...I am not sure what your budget looks like but I will give you an idea or two and if its too much or you have more money to play with, we can adjust. What I would recommend is the Blackmagic ATEM mini Pro Switcher for $595. They also offer the mini (non pro) version for cheaper, but it doesn't all of the same features. You can get the vixia and get another mini HDMI to HDMI and you would plug both cameras into the ATEM switcher before going into the studio recorder. So You would need the Vixia camera, tripod, mini hdmi to hdmi adapter or cable, 2-4 additional hdmi cables, a ethernet cable to reach your computer or wireless router, a usb-c to usb 3.0 cable.....unless you have a slot on the back of your iMac for usb-c and then the Blackmagic ATEM mini pro...you can also get a computer monitor that has an hdmi input for the ATEM and this will provide you a preview of the inputs of the camera if you choose to not use wirecast anymore....With the new ATEM, you honestly could bypass not using wirecast and the studio recorder because it can livestream too. If this seems overwhelming, let me know and I will try my best to walk you through it. Thanks. (side note....the atem mini pro is backordered by at least a month currently.
ALL THINGS SMALL CHURCH thanks for the response! A couple of questions. 1.If I buy the ATEM mini can I still stream live? 2. If I go that route, I will no longer have to use the mini studio recorder? 3.Also, how do I get audio from my soundboard? (I previously was using a scarlet audio interface, and I would connect that using a quarter inch cable into the aux send and plug that into my interface and the interface connects to the computer. ) Thanks Brandon!
Damian Valle No problem. 1. Yes....the atem mini pro is a 4 channel switcher (multi inputs like cameras and also computer slides or images) and it is also an encoder (takes the feed and puts it online). So once it is setup...it is very easy to go live using the atem mini pro. The drawback is it’s technically make for streaming to one platform (Facebook or TH-cam or whatever) you can do 2 platforms at the same time...but it’s not as easy as just one. 2. You won’t need the studio recorder or really any of the other stuff. Just run the camera feed to the atem and after setup...your atem needs to be plugged into your router via Ethernet. You set it up using usb-c, but then it can basically bypass the computer for the most part. You still control going live from the computer..but the computer is not having to handle the video feed. 3. That’s the part I haven’t got to test out all the way because The 3 installs I did for churches are using xlr to 3.5 and I haven’t played with it too much regarding using an interface. But...I would think the interface would be a great option if you have an option to use 3.5 and I would recommend that way over the xlr to 3.5. Side note...I have a mini pro ordered for our church for our youth, but I am still waiting for it to be delivered. We are going to try the xlr to 3.5 first because it’s only $7.00 on Amazon. But if it doesn’t sound good, I will look at getting an interface. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks
Update. Just bought the cannon g21, SDI and hdmi converters and SDI cables. Just waiting on the ATEM when it become available. Here’s my question. We have a IMac 2013 and my 2 thunderbolt spots are currently being used to run the project to screen and a confidence monitor. The first is connect thunderbolt to vga. Then thunderbolt to hdmi. Here’s my question. Could I run both of those into the USB ( ex usb to vga) slot to clear up those thunderbolt spots? Also, the ATEM will connect usb right?
Damian Valle So....here is the thing...I’m limited on testing those things out at the moment because I’m still waiting for ours to be shipped. I’ve only worked with a few that I’ve placed in a few churches but I was just installing and didn’t do a lot of atypical testing. I know you setup using usb-c (from the atem mini) to usb-c or usb 3.0. I haven’t tested regular usb 2.0, but I also use a MacBook Pro from 2013 so when it is delivered, I can let you know. And while you can livestream using the usb cable.... The method of choice is running it via ethernet. It’s basically a stand alone encoder/switcher. Besides the initial set up, you would use the computer to control the switcher software..which I have done on my computer with no problem. Basically I think you’re gonna be fine though. I personally would leave the thunderbolt spots alone, use the Ethernet and again while I haven’t tested it just yet, I believe you will be able to setup and control via usb. You will just need to get a usb-c to usb cable.
Jomar Santos Torres Jomar Santos Torres yes...this set up can be used for TH-cam videos and I feel like you will be pleased with the quality. A lot of times lighting is just as important though...so consider that expense as well. If you have good lighting, your video will look great. If the lighting is poor, then your video may look a little rough depending on the distance between you and the camera. Good luck!!
Hey. So there are apps that you can use in place of the atem software...but most of them do not offer as many options as the computer app. And to my knowledge, you must have a computer to do the initial setup, but that’s it. Thanks
Hey. So you can look at the Panasonic G7 and it’s $600 plus the items mentioned in the video. I helped install that in a church a few weeks ago and they had about 20 people that attend their church. You can go as cheap as a webcam if you want, but when it comes to live-streaming, it really is one of those things that you get what you pay for. Just a suggestion...maybe try a few chicken spaghetti fundraisers or something like that and present the need. It’s a cheap meal and people have to eat. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.
I’m a film student home during the pandemic, and have been asked to get our video ministry at my childhood church started.-Thank you for sharing.
Glad to help. Good luck!
This was very helpful. Especially the links to get the mini HDMI. I will rewatch this when we upgrade our equipment.
I would suggest buying fiber optic hdmi cables since they can go up to 200 ft before any signal loss and it removes the need for so many adapters
Thanks so much for your tutorial. Very good helps me out with what we need at the church. Please tell me more about the switcher and the cable used from the camera to the computer ,and I think you stated to the switcher. Thank You !
Thanks for the kind words. So I probably explained it better in this updated video that I made a while back. th-cam.com/video/WlMqe2ARR4Y/w-d-xo.html
But the atem mini pro is a switcher and encoder which means you can livestream from it without bogging down your computer.
Thanks.

Got any video of examples of this camera? Especially how it handles when there is a Colored LED on stage in Frame?
you can also do wireless transmitters to eliminate the long sdi cables.
That's more expensive and less reliable. You'd have to spend a ton to get reliable wireless video.

It is possible to do live streaming to FB with Canon XA 55 or not. And also recommend which camera is Best for Live Streaming to FB.
Good Luck!

Question: Can you run the HDMI cable from the (mini adapter) hooked to the camera and connect directly to a LAPTOP?
Hey. You actually cannot. The laptop would be just hdmi out instead of hdmi in. You would need to have some type of "video capture device" like this one: amzn.to/3HITJT4

(Side note...I haven’t ever used one so I don’t want to recommend a particular one)
If you were connecting via hdmi, then that means you most likely already have a video capture device.
Thanks!

Thanks
Hi! is there any way that you can show us the quality of the camera during live streaming??
Good luck.
Thank you so much. I appreciate your honest response.
Hi, do u know if I could use a laptop as monitor with this videocamera? Thanks for the video
This particular one requires a usb 3.0. amzn.to/3ve9coB
If you’re trying to do a setup and need help, just contact me back and I will be glad to help.

Thanks.
Please how to do use two more cameras shooting from different angles
Clement Sowah So...basically how I have started doing it our church is basically I have a camera on the side that is stationary and set at more of a wide angle. Then the main camera, I am able zoom it in and out to make different video clips. Both cameras are ran into our atem and I just use the switcher to switch between the two.
The link below is from our church service this past Sunday. It’s not as polished as I want, but I was short handed and so it’s the best I could without help.

Thanks

Is it possible to live stream with Canon XA 25?
It is, but as with most video cameras, you will need some type of encoder to take the camera feed and puts it online. I recommend looking at the ATEM Mini Pro if you are on a budget. Here is a link to a video that I am uploading now. It will be available tomorrow morning. Thanks. th-cam.com/video/wXfCr14HcDo/w-d-xo.html
@@ALLTHINGSSMALLCHURCH Thank you so much. The problem that we have here that it is difficult to get some of the things like encoder etc.

Thank You

Jarhead6 hey. So if it’s like the G21 mentioned in this video, I believe you would go to the second tab in your settings and you would turn off “output onscreen displays”. Hey Brandon, Such a blessing to have you help us here! thanks for doing all these;
Our church need a camera that can doing close up shooting from a long distance (about 100')
What camera you recomend?
What described 15x, 20x or 25x optical zoom means? ...
I appreciate your advice, thanks again
Daniel
Thanks.
Hello! Needing some help! What if our router/modem is far from where we do our services? How do I go about that.
Hope that helps. amzn.to/35GNuOT
Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks

Do I need a switcher if I only have one camera?
Good luck!!
when you output your video via HDMI port, do you need to initialize it? Thank you
Hey...so I’m not sure what you mean by initializing it...but It’s basically power on everything and it’s good to go. If I misunderstood, let me know. Thanks so much!
@@ALLTHINGSSMALLCHURCH HI. I was trying to say do you need to push a button or something. I think I have found the reason, I bought a faulty video capture card. Thanks for your help.
What about using an old school Canon XL2?
Hey. Im sorry...Im not familiar with that camera....but from pictures I have seen....I think it may be too old. I may be wrong though.
Bradon,
Let me begin by telling you the equipment we already own. Cannon Rebel T5i, Mini HDMI to HDMI Black Magic Ultra Studio Recorder, IMac, ( connected via thunderblot) and running it off Wirecast. Here is my question, We are wanting to run a 2 camera set up,
Canon Vixia HF G21 and our Cannon Rebel.
(I previously was using a scarlet audio interface, and I would connect that using a quarter inch cable into the aux send and plug that into my interface and the interface connects to the computer. )
Thanks Brandon!
Awesome bro thnkya a ;lot
V Joseph no problem. If you have any questions, let me know.
Also, links are in the description box if you need it. Have a great weekend
Can i use that for TH-cam Videos? Or Do I have to get something more $Expensive?
Jomar Santos Torres Jomar Santos Torres yes...this set up can be used for TH-cam videos and I feel like you will be pleased with the quality. A lot of times lighting is just as important though...so consider that expense as well. If you have good lighting, your video will look great. If the lighting is poor, then your video may look a little rough depending on the distance between you and the camera. Good luck!!
Can u connect it to iPad instead of computer?
Hey. So there are apps that you can use in place of the atem software...but most of them do not offer as many options as the computer app. And to my knowledge, you must have a computer to do the initial setup, but that’s it. Thanks
@@ALLTHINGSSMALLCHURCH okay thank u. I got a laptop
Ty for the video but even the cost of $1000. dollar camera is way outside our "small church" budget
Thanks.
Thank

Thanks for the feedback! Have a great weekend!
