  • DIY build of a Box Scraper. Needed something to move gravel around to fill in low spots on my driveway. Built from stuff I had laying around. Took me Friday eve and all day Saturday. It worked great right from the start. I bet its the only one with a whirlybird feature to tell you when the wheels are spinning / touching the ground.

Yes... do it! Wire feed (MIG) is easy. It's my go to welder. I ended up buying a Miller, more $ but I do a lot of welding and its been a great unit. TIG welding takes more practice and is a bit of an art. I learned welding with a stick welder when I was about 12. I'm glade you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the compliments!!

Great job building that grader. I use to make whatever I needed. Me & my brother made weight racks for our pulling mowers. We made a carry all. I had 4 sears mowers with electric lifts that used actuator like the one you used. The mowers had 3 point hitches. The only thing I would change is I would make the hitch swivel. If you paint the blade after using it, Dirt would not stick to it.🚜👍

Sir, I must say, from what I seen as your thumb nail to then seeing your bundle of materials supplied, outstanding work! Such simple and minimal materials, and the upcycle of the old broadcaster, very nice! Keep up the great work.
I am currently looking around my pile of reusable materials after having already been planning to build one for myself and I after looking at my "list of materials to order" vs what I actually have laying around.... I can build mine for just about $free:50 as well! Thanks again! Much appreciated

If you have the right junk... I mean parts laying around, its fun to see what a little bit of cutting and welding can get you. I'm happy you got something out of the video!

A member of the Pepsi generation. And puts us all about the same age. I was looking for something to prepare the ground for seed. You gave me some good ideas and I do have that same axle assembly from an old spreader also. Good job I think you've done this before. Thanks again

I'm happy you got something out of it. I still wear my winter Pepsi hat from the 70's. I also just sat down with a Wild Cherry Pepsi!

Thanks! I think it turned out good and works for my needs, as is. This reminds me, my brother was going to make a logo for it... he called it the Dirt Dragon.

Looks good. Though it seems a bit light. Not sure the capacity of the actuator, but if it can handle it, adding an angle iron frame to the top to allow the adding of one or two cinder blocks should make it cut a bit better.

i found that a hacksaw blade will fit in a reciprocating saw and stay put. the hole is just right i guess. blades are flimsy for anything but slow, but will cut metal great. i snap a bunch of 18 to 24 tpi blades in half with a bolt cutter and leave in my metal fab toolbox.

This comment is meant to be for the channel owner…. Not as a reply to koaasst4029… (for whatever reason that I don’t understand why, there is no option for me to be able to directly comment) I like watching channels like yours and just newly subscribed and liked this video after just watching it. I noticed that you have only 80 some….subscribers. Am guessing that you have just recently started this channel because as good as your content is I’d think you’d have significantly more subscribers if you have had the channel for any length of time. Have a good day, sir.

Im also wanting to build a box blade..i have a couple old well pump tanks but am having trouble finding a grinder disc that will cut them,,any suggestions

I'm a big fan on the cold cut metal saws that use a blade like a wood circular saw. These have to run at a slower speed then say an angle grinder, thus take a special saw with a slower speed. I got luck and my buddy had a hand held one, it worked great... after I repaired it. There must be a grinding disc designed for cutting vs "grinding". I was always going to see it someone on TH-cam has tested / found a good one, but haven't yet. I have two well pump pressure tanks too, waiting to be used for something.

I've been trying to get the audio better in my videos. I think I'm getting better at it... I better, it's been 2 years of doing this.
