The most accurate part was '..and it's not over yet' at the end. One minute later her VP asks her to get started on a deck due 8am tomorrow. It's gonna be a long night.
That last bit of advice on potentially bringing up the video in an interview was actually really good ngl. Solid way of bantering whilst keeping it professional
Agree with majority of this, however wellness centres (or "relax room" 😂) are becoming more common, particularly with recent drive from big Corp to 'appear' to care about employee mental health. Whether the rooms (often converted cupboards) are actually ever used is another question. Our firm have pre-work yoga sessions I believe.
No one does meditation in the floor in EY CIB/Consulting. Maybe going to Church or a Prayer Room to know ur ultimate fate by afternoon after not meeting your deadline. Please. 😅😅😅 Kinda funny though UBS
I did meditation at some point when I worked as a software developper. During the lunch. I have sever stress issues and my employer seemed happy that I took care of my health. If you convince your manager It won't impact your performance he will let you do it. I probably was the only one out of like 1000 person doing that. I also was the only one wearing a mask to work when I was ill, the only corp job I ever got, they probably thought I was an alien lol.
I did meditation. Gym and then in sauna in morning and sometimes at lunch. You know they are actors when they been camp and cheesy smiles. Most analyst and associate are too busy crunching numbers
This is a ideal version of ib rember its meant to attract people and 100 hour week and a day of excel is not going to do the job and personality wise it is perfectly for the target audience most ib trader lawyer consultant types love big city high pace glam life so they did there jobs UBS celebrating a 20% uptick in the bonus pool
Personally I think the biggest down side is that you can't work remotely. If you could work remotely you could live somewhere that will really make that salary carry some weight. Or you could live somewhere really cheap to save money for your own future project. If I could do that then I feel like I could justify the long hours.
I heard UBS have not won any good deals in recent years.....so they launched online courses....i dont know how that could help them land the best analysts....and then this ad
I'm not sure what's worse the acting or the fact that it's so far off from reality. It seems like UBS needs new compliance officers to enforce these apparently non existing Chinese walls. Maybe they should do an advert for that too. LOL
Mate what would you recommend if I'm struggling to secure an internship (I've applied to a lot of places) but can't seem to get past the video interview stage. I'm currently in my third year of a four-year degree. Thanks :)
Yes but they couldn't possibly tell the truth mate) That would firstly be against the rules in banking. Secondly, it would put off all the wannabe rich bankers from sending in their application rather than doing something useful with their life))
Hahaha this video is a joke! No actual banker at UBS can actually have watched this - looks like a HR product. And yes, I have done 10 years in M&A and Private Equity at highest international level at top tier institutions so I know what it’s about.
Hi, thanks for all the great videos, I have a question. If you apply for the goldman analyst program in your final year at uni and you manage to get it, which month do you start there then. Also is the start dates for London banks the same. Many thanks
UBS Interviewer: So, do you have any questions for us before we wrap up?
Me: Yes, bull or bear?
The ad captures the essence of investment banking perfectly. It's one big show.

LMAO "Is this guy like Obama or something." 😆
Don’t forget about that general disregard for the Chinese Wall. I’m surprised they get hit with fines and penalties by regulators.
I love how internet destroyed this fake/ Californian girl/ everything perfect ad made by people who know nothing about IB.
That last bit of advice on potentially bringing up the video in an interview was actually really good ngl. Solid way of bantering whilst keeping it professional
Heres the best piece of advice ... dont go near this job) Do something useful instead.
Bull or Bear???

We have Yoga lessons at our company gym, but I think gyms are quite common at companies
It sounds like a Barbie ad
Finally industry reaction!!!!!! Can’t wait exciting stuff
this was obviously done by an ad agency. they basically just googled industry jargon and just bastardized it with oversentimentality

Does anybody go from doing a bake-off in the morning and trading floor in the afternoon?

I would have liked to have seen her walking out with an ambulance and paramedics in the background. Look left, look right, look up ...
"This just turned into some siri ad" 🤣🤣🤣

Leaving work at 19:30 What a Joke😂
You and Joshua Fluke should collab, king. and WTH with masks off the desk?
Yes but they couldn't possibly tell the truth mate) That would firstly be against the rules in banking. Secondly, it would put off all the wannabe rich bankers from sending in their application rather than doing something useful with their life))
are we going to see any more industry reactions
