      Why do most people who work for boutique banks leave or get sacked after a few years?

    Currently doing a 10-week internship at a Hedge Fund and I can definitely say that the breaking into the Hedge Fund sphere is spot on. From my first few weeks I already knew I wasn't going to get any return offer becasue they pick people up who have either been in the industry for some time or have some type of connection already to people on the team, mostly a bit of both. I'm still working my as hard as I can and making sure to make as many connections as I can before I leave but definitely the breaking in is a bit tough.

    Thank you for the most educative content. I have some questions also.
    1. What do you think of trading?
    2. What do people in trading floor do?
    3. what products do they trade most?

    Hi Afzal,
    I am looking at applying to a degree apprenticeship in finance and particularly the apprenticeship offered by JP Morgan. I know you have already made a video in this opportunity but I was wondering if you have any more tips or tricks on pulling together an amazing application for degree apprenticeships as obviously I won’t have done any spring weeks or internships because I’m still at school.
    I really appreciate the time and thank you for making these videos, they are so full of knowledge and easy to digest. Many thanks again

    Why is hedge funds not aggressively regulated like asset management division, what drives the difference

    • @stancurry6265
      @stancurry6265 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly it’s probably just how both started and played out over time rather than a specific reason. One was larger and often attached to higher profile banks, and perceived to have more of the smaller general public’s money at risk, where as hedge funds were long just considered some what of an afterthought in the money management business designed for wealthy investors so the regulators didn’t pay much attention. Then when they really exploded in the 90s they eventually had enough money, weight, lobbying power and influence to keep regulations to a minimum once the issue started to be raised. If it wasn’t for high profile funds blowing up and guys like madoff, they’d probably still be operating with little to no oversight.
