Even for a B-B-Q holster, I'd want the grip frame more open, not just for "firing grip" clearance for the draw, but to show off those lovely, leather-covered grip panels! Have you considered a magnetic magazine pouch to match the holster, and matching belt? The whole Enchilada, if you will! That would be a Sheridan-class rig, for sure!!
I built my Dad a rear canting right handed holster for his 1911. Unfortunately, it looks nothing like these exquisite examples. Everything was hand cut, and hand sewn.
Man! Gonna have to make another holster and some matching grips. I thought I was done. On the bright side I'm sure it'll be a whole lot of fun! Now to find the time to make it.....
Beautiful, looks just as it should, a match of pistol handle to holster. I like the new approach to securing the magnet plug to the holster. Please keep us posted as to the future success of this change. I intend to use this in a future project, just have a few projects scheduled before I can use your idea. But, I will be using it .😊😉😎 Thanks again for sharing and please keep them coming.👍😎
que maravilla de trabajo, realmente una obra de arte !! como me gustaría poder verte trabajar un día personalmente, ojalá los videos durarán 2 horas !!! 😊
Thanks! It doesn't eliminate the soot issue entirely, but it does greatly reduce it. Are you using lasers to cut your patterns? We should do a collaboration at some point.
@@RoadAgentLeather I usually cut holsters by hand, but I do like to cut journal covers with the laser. I machine sew most of my stuff, so it's usually less hassle to just hand cut the leather. Collaboration sounds fun!
nice work and i really enjoy your videos very inspiring. have you thought of using your laser to make wooden jigs to wet mold that toe cap piece. I made some mold to shape bottoms for some leather can coozies i make. i use a alignment peg on the jig to center the laser cut leather then have a outer ring with base that lines up with dowl peg then use clamps to press it all together. for the wood i laminated plywood pieces together to get depth of jig. hopefully that gives you some inspiration and keep up the good work
Does the eco weld hold up over time? I've got a similar product and only use it to hold while stitching. I should make something I can test it's bond under some regular stress.
That's the thing: Almost everything I glue I stitch as well. So I've never had a liner come apart The magnetic toe plug I glued using Titebond (same stuff I use on the grips)
@RoadAgentLeather I do the same but would hate to have it get loose somewhere in the middle. I imagine it would take some hard use to lose the bond though.
Another fantastic project. I always learn something from each of your videos. One question regarding the welt. I noticed it wasn’t glued in. Is there an advantage to only stitching it?
I haven't ever seen you wet form a holster or sheath, could you clarify your approach to that and why you do or don't wet form? Can you recommend good resources for learning this craft? You're like a Raphael of leather.
I've wet-formed some smaller items like magazine pouches. Check out my Ruger bandolier video. I actually have a larger vacuum-form project in mind. Just keep checking back in!
Hi. They're neodymium magnets from the hardware store (not regular 'refrigerator door' variety magnets.) I've only ever seen them in two sizes: small and large discs.

Valid point. Magnetic mag holder is a possibility I hadn't thought of.
BIG SKILLS ! ! ! Really enjoy your videos. Better than Netflix... 😁
Thank you so much 😀
My hobby budget goes up every time I watch your channel!😂
lol. Actually, you can pick up a laser from Amazon for less than the price of a hide. Like 3D printers, they've become pretty cheap nowadays.
This is very relatable, just started my small business hope to be this good one day
Dude that matching pair is absolutely amazing. Leather perfection!
Thanks! And thanks more for subscribing!
WOW!! absolutely gorgeous. That is an amazing job. Thanks for sharing.
I'll be glad when I'm that good with my Lazer, but I do learn something new every time I watch your videos.
Awesome to hear that! That's what it's all about: Us all learning from each other.
That’s as American as that come your a great craftsman 👍🏻🇮🇪
Very, very creative! You are very talented
I need to up my game, apparently. That's beyond beautiful. I especially like how you did the plug.
Nice matching set. Dude, you inspire me so much. Never stop your channel. I know You Tube is making things tough, but hang tough.
👍👍👍
Nothing beats a classic 1911 in a leather holster
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
Maybe a classic 1911 in a leather holster with matching leather grips.
Either way very nice gun, holster and grips!
This is gorgeous. Great solve to the magnetic issue.
Thanks!
Laser cutter is a great tool!
What an absolute work of art. If I was lucky enough to own such a pair, I would be afraid to use them. You sir are a master leathercrafter.
This will be a 1 million subscriber channel soon....such good work!
Crossing my fingers! Thanks for subscribing!
Really spectacular job sir! Gorgeous looking and I’d be proud to have my pistol wrapped up in one of your holsters 👍🏻

Awesome! Do you have an instagram?
@@RoadAgentLeather unfortunately, I don't have Instagram on my devices. I'm pulled in so many directions that I rarely get to enjoy my leather craft.
@@Freeman-Dl70 I know exactly what you mean.

Once Again... Nice Workmanship and Processes! Thanks for this video ';-)
Awesome work. Thanks for sharing all this great info!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Complimenti maestro, ha eseguito un autentico capolavoro 👏👍
Just gorgeous as usual…superior craftsmanship! I prefer the flutey background music, though. 😁
Thank you very much! Yeah, I gotta change it up occasionally!
Beautiful work!
Thank you very much!
Holster and grips turned out fantastic! I like the flossing tip.

I think the holster is worth more than the gun ! I'm not a Kimber guy either...Beautiful work.
Thanks! Though it's not a Kimber. It's a Rock Island.
I miss when you'd cut leather by hand instead this laser cutter, but I still enjoy the videos!!👍🏼👍🏼
I want this holster so bad!
absolutely gorgeous
Makes everything look complete.
Fantastic beautiful work
Woooo eeeee, I need this immediately! This is incredibly bad ass!
That's beautiful work.😊
Thank you! 😊
Wonderful job!
Thank you!
Nicely done!
Thanks for the visit
It is the perfect complement to the 1991 ☺️👌🏼
sorry, I meant 1911 😅
ha. I knew what you meant. Thanks!
Absolutely stellar….
Totally badass 😎
Classy design!
Thanks!

at 3:15 what is that stone he brushes that gets kind of soapy? is it just soap or something special?
It's glycerin saddle soap.
@@RoadAgentLeather awesome tyvm for answering :D
Super, thank you

Great job
Very nice 👍🏻 well done
Thanks!
how are you liking the WeCreat sofar i have the 20w software has its issues but its a good little machine IMO
Works great so far! Just used it to cut some heavy 10oz leather washers for my next video.
Wish more states had good open carry. Bring out the Gucci guns and holsters.
No doubt! Thanks for watching!
Love it!!
Thanks!
So out of all these laser you have tested out, what one do you like the best? What one would you keep if you only had room for one?

@@sloth_eI’ve been using eco-weld for years on holsters and haven’t ever had an issue with delamination at all. It’s pretty reliable.
Are any of these holsters and grips for sale ?
I do sell the grips. Shoot me an email.
Высший пилотаж!!!!!! Лайк.❤
Great stuff. Do you ever get tangled up when stitching?
What top coat u use after antique??? Also what do u use to put it on with??
Resolene. That's what I'm spraying with the airbrush @11:30 min.
Where did you get those clamps for your laser table
Well your xtool laser
Those come with the xTool machine. I need to buy more of them
Hat's off to you my friend! Great inspiration for leather workers of all skill levels.
Thoughts on your new laser?
Thanks! The WeCreat works great. It's the closest to my xTool P2 I've worked with... sort of a compact version.

What kind of 1911 is that? I would love to get one to also customize!
Rock Island Armory M1911 A1 Government
is there a specific weight milled veg tan or does it only come in one weight? Also where do you purchase yours? love your videos , thank you
Very Nice

Brilliant! Adds it to my Road Agent Pro-Tip notebook
Sweet! Thanks for watching!
amazing!
Do you think the plug will stay in place in the long run? It looks phenomenal ❤️
Thanks! Yeah. Since the toe plug is pretty thick, there's a lot of surface area holding it together. I used the same glue as the grips.
Hell Yeah Brother!!!
First comment!! Thanks man. You in Turkey?
Very nice ! Don't you get crinkles in the liner when you fold the leather ? I have this issue with my homemade holsters.
Not with milled veg-tan leather. Tandy sells it. It completely changed the way I make lined holsters when I discovered it.
Just a suggestion are you planning to do saddle holster for a hunting rifle?
I've never considered warming up the antique paste to make application easier. 😅
Excellent work

What are the specs on those magnets you used? Do you have a link? I’m thinking of using a similar setup with a Glock 40 in a backwoods chest holster.
