Today we are covering the AS VAL which is the new weapon released for season 6 unlocked at trier 31 of the battlepass!!

The AS Val (Avtomat Special'nyj Val, Russian: Автомат Специальный Вал or Special Automatic Rifle, code name: "Shaft", GRAU designation 6P30) is a Soviet-designed rifle featuring an integrated suppressor. Development of a special rifle (AS) "Shaft" began in the first half of the 1980s in the Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering (TSNIITOCHMASH), in the city of Klimovsk, Moscow region. The lead designer of the rifle is Pyotr Serdyukov [ru].
It was developed in 1987 by TsNIITochMash (Central Institute for Precision Machine Building). Since 1987, it was added to the arsenal of the Soviet Army and the KGB and is used by Russian Spetsnaz and the MVD, FSB, OMON, SOBR, GRU, and select units of the Russian Army.
Due to the rifle being both expensive and in limited quantity, it is very rarely deployed according to some Russian Spetsnaz operators. It is deployed in special operations that are either sabotage or reconnaissance units behind enemy lines and is a favorite of Spetsnaz operators.
The AS Val and VSS proved to be very effective and remain in service with elements of the Russian army and special forces and Moscow’s intelligence and security forces. The suppressed rifles saw action during the last years of the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan and played prominent roles in the Chechen wars and the conflict in Georgia.
Most recently, they have seen action during Russia’s interventions in Crimea and Syria.
The AS Val has an effective range of approximately 300 m, as it uses heavy subsonic 9×39mm SP-6 (high-performance armor-piercing) ammunition, as well as the SP-5 ball cartridge used by the VSS Vintorez suppressed sniper rifle. It can also use the same 10- or 20-round magazines of the VSS Vintorez and the 30-round magazine of the SR-3M. Controls are similar to all AK-type rifles with charging handle on the right side, tangent rear sight, magazine release button behind the magazine well, and safety lever above the trigger guard. The fire selector is, however, located within the trigger guard, behind the trigger.
The rifle has two modes of fire, semi-automatic and fully automatic fire, and has a cyclic rate of fire of 900 rounds per minute (RPM). According to its users, the AS Val is reliable, accurate, and well liked.
The rifle has an AK-type side mount for various optical sights, including the 4x PSO-1 scope and night sights such as the 1PN51[1] calibrated for use with the 9×39mm cartridge. The standard open sights are graduated up to 400 m in 25 m increments.
The AS Val shares 70% of its components with its sister-gun, the VSS Vintorez. The differences are a skeletonized steel stock which folds to the left for storage and transportation (gun can operate with stock folded but it cannot be fitted with a scope while the stock is folded).
The reliability of the rifle is said to be equivalent to the AKM, including functioning in difficult conditions such as dust, dirt, sand, rain, at a temperature range from -50 °C to +50 °C.

russian weaponry isn't copyrighted in the west, that's why they use the proper names.
It's weird how the Oden is the only Russian made weapon in the game that doesn't have its real name (ASh-12.7).

@ytaccno3 Probably because it's a more recently made weapon, unlike the rest of the Russian weapons in the game, which were made since the 40's (AK-47, SKS), 60's (Dragunov), 80's (AS Val) and the 90's (PP19 Bizon).

You should hold a mil-sim custom type game. Spetsnaz have to use FGF, protectorate. And AS VAL and AK74m. And then a NATO team.

if its special forces yeah, if its plain milsim then US forces use task force m4, either trooper or one of the us milsims and russians use ak74m and they use Allegiance mislim RGF 3 skin

I love that they added the AS Val to the game one of my favorite weapons. Love playing with it in BF3 and Tarkov.

Man, Gilded Arm with any brown camo, especially woodland, fits quite well with the new Bale skin.
Too bad some parts of the gun is still a bit too shiny. Haha.

i wish that (despite the VAL and the Pro 700), this season had more military stuff and not just Halloween and typical cod player stuff :( those blueprints are awful.
But what an interesting and informative video straight up to the point without bullshiting unlike 99% of TH-camrs, keep it up man 👍
Xbox: and what I really like about this season is that they added the self revive to the chest which will allow you a chance to use more kill streaks

The fact that the rounds in the magazine actually empty is so cool. If you inspect the AS VAL at 2 rounds left, only one round will be in the mag, and with 1 round left, the mag is empty, because one round is in the chamber. Cool stuff.
Xbox: i honestly don't like how there aren't any mil-sim in the BP but its still a good season.
Yeah, it’s disappointing. And still no FSB pack either. At this point, they’ve probably forgotten it.

SWITS Feral It’s never been released. It was made back in season 3 and ever since then I’ve been waiting for it, but I guess not.
@@north7764 Funnily enough, the FSB skin is actually featured in one of the Warzone Mastery calling cards that was introduced in Season 6. Hopefully that means we might finally see him in the store after all this time.

Kinda wish the Dragunov Scope replaced the default Sniper Scope on the AK-47, PP19 Bizon, PKM, SKS (while still keeping the PU Scope with a lower magnification level) and AN-94.
The as Val is my favorite gun, when I heard it was coming to the game I got so happy

I’m really liking the weapons this season. The Val is a very unique and interesting weapon irl, and the R700 has some nice customization. Mialstor Tank Factory is a pretty good midsize map to me too and it gives me Zavod 311 vibes, albeit with more modern T-55 tank upgrades on the line. Farah was my favorite character in the campaign and it’s great to see her in multiplayer with her campaign skin with the Revolution blueprint from S1.
Xbox, I love the introduction of the AS VAL to MW. I hope the AA-12 lives up to its hype as well.

Had a lot of fond memories of this gun in the Battlefield days and fond memories if it in STALKER. Seeing this, I was so happy to unlock it and shred people with it.
And having it with Bale's protectorate outfit was like the perfect match.

As Val and the hopefully upcoming AA-12 are hands down my favourites this season. I'm still crossing fingers for an AK-12 blueprint.
Its cool that the BP has a Revolution variant, a nice SKS skin, MGS-looking Bale skin. I'm glad I saved up the free CP for this season.
It sucks people complain that 'iT IsN'T vIaBlE fOr WaRzOnE!1!' or 'Ugh, where muh extend 60-round mags'. They obviously either don't know how to pick their fights and are spoiled by easy to use guns.

I’m liking S6 so far, the subway system was a little underwhelming but still useful, and loving the SP-R 208 / R700. Such a satisfying weapon.
PS4: I'm liking the season 6 because of the references the battle pass does about the campaign, I'm glad they didn't forget Farah.
I play on PC and i love that they added Nikolai to the game. He is so bad ass
PS4: I’ve been using the Val as my new Warzone weapon and it is amazing. I still lose most long distance fights but if they are within decent range, it’s a field day. And I’m pretty sure I’m using your build in this vid.
Xbox: this new map and the as val really reminding me of bf4 going stealthy and picking up flanks on zavod 311. Great to see this weapon getting more exposure but would it be too much to hope for the g11 soon?

So far I’m enjoying season 6. I love that they added the AS-Val. Used it a lot in BF4 and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series. The new weapons seem pretty OP though. Especially the sniper.
PS4 here, the AS VAL is a beautiful weapon, my favorite thing of this season by far, only followed by the tactical skin for Nikolai.

I'm not sniper or dmr user, but I'm glad you guys get a new fun weapon. You guys kept on asking for one, and you finally get a good weapon.
I also like some of the BP skins, with some standouts of Minotaur, Wyatt, and Zane. Also on the third skin for Nikolai, I see a pistol I don't recognize, but it's in the gun shops all over the WZ map
I'm on PC. Season 6 looking great so far, looking forward to the upcoming AA-12.
PS4 and I actually like this warzone season 6 Easter egg it’s pretty easy to do with teammates and is very rewarding

I elaborate. Love the real life look that you give about the weapons. Info about them, exaples, and history. I find it way more interesting that just stats and metas. I would love to se more real life pics for the examples....... I dont always now the gun by name and I would be great to educate us. Love m8 gg
Xbox one I like how I was able to switch up my play style and how I had to adapt when using the as val into using two different play styles such as one where I can rush around and get kills and two where when using the vs variant I had to take things slow and place my shots more accurately so I didnt waste too much ammo if I didnt have a munitions box

What I like about season 6 is that Griggs is being added as a operator. I think he deserves more attention than just 1 misson in the campaign.
What I want them to add would be a actuall new sniper rifle. That rifle should be the AWM. I think this gun fit‘s in this modern day game just because it is such an iconic rifle.

Liking season 6 so far. Haven’t unlocked the AS VAL yet, but the SPR 208 is becoming my 1 of my favorite post launch guns. Long over due in my opinion. Still holding out for the HK G28. Fingers crossed. Just got a duos win with Ram7 & P90. Seems like armor plates are a little scarce lately. But I seem to be having some fun again. Keep up the content. I enjoy learning about guns specs and history. If I’m lucky enough to be picked, PS4 is my selected console.
Xbox One: I love that M4 .458 SOCOM conversion so I’m interested in making a similar vss build

Really cool setup, I tried it and tested some how it would preform with the Skelet stock instead of the 5mW laser and the gun works extremely well. With this setup it is easy to use, simple visually and it does it's job done much better than my own setup of this weapon. I am personally using the osa barrel, commando foregrip, vintazh stock slight of hand and stippled griptape, my setup compared to yours is much harder to use. However I there is some logic behind why I am not using the 30 round mags but the 20 round ones, with the slight of hand the reload of of 20 round mags is much more crisp compared to 30 round mags and in warzone realistically you will have to reaload between each downed opponent and which is why I made the decision to use 20 round mags instead of 30 round mags. The 10 round diffarence is only noticable in multiplayer, in my opinion the is a reason to use 20 round mags other than the fact that you do not have 30 round mags unlocked yet. When we compare both of our setup there is something that we can learn and that is the fact that this weapon is versitile but also likes recoil reduction attachments, I have commando foregrip and you have merc foregrip. In conclusion when making a setup for this weapon thinking of at least one recoil reduction attachment will make this weapon really easy to use.
PS4: I saw that infinity ward is going to add in the aa12 which is gonna be super cool to run around with. Love watching your vids

Aren’t you able to unlock the kobra chevron as the crosshair? At least I remember that the arrow from bf3 I though I don’t know if it’s more accurate

Xbox one: Little known fact about the VAL, it uses sekrit KBG technology that lets it shoot through up to 20 meters of solid concrete.
Ah so what your saying is it makes sense how the 10 round mags can shoot through infinite walls

Switch: weapon blueprints and operators are kinda lackluster. Season 5 nailed it, season 6 seems like they just felt like extending just to get some extra cash.

xbox: something i really enjoy in season 6 is the new sniper. there’s so much attachments you can put on it and it’s definitely meta changing to multiplayer.
Xbox: I loved escape from tarkov's AS val and I'm very excited to try it in MW, MW is the closest console gamers got to military Sim like gameplay, hope this game stays strong for a while

PS4-I wanna see the FSB bundle finally come into the shop after being delayed twice. But I like battlepass this season but it’s unfortunate that there is no Milsims in it.
I love the tier 90 bale skin. And the J-12 skin with the screwdriver knife skin is a nice easter egg.

fun fact, there is someone here in the US that has made a clone of the VAL and I know of a working, select fire Bizon here too.
I'm on Xbox. Really excited to see Cold War integration with Warzone and the new night mode. I've yearned for a night mode since Warzone was released and I'd heard it mentioned in a speculative tone but I was disappointed when it didn't arrive in Season 2. I'm a little bit disappointed with the AS VAL because it doesn't seem to perform very well in Warzone. If there was an SMG version of the VAL I think it would be worth the SMG slot, but there are just so many assault rifles that I think can easily outperform the AS VAL in Warzone *as all-around weapons.

Looking forward to unlocking the new bale skins in the battle pass. It will go great with the AS Val which is a great addition to the game. I actually like both guns added this season!
Personally I would take that skeleton stock of and put on the sopmod stock for the Val
PC; Controversial opinion but I really like the sp-r, it's a really interesting marksman rifle and the attachments for it are great.
Buff the new Golem skin in the battle pass is the same skin that Ajax wore in CoD Ghost Campagin in the misson ,,Heroes never die"(flashback misson with the flooding of the dam)

I think it's because other than the m4 the other weapons have trademark names whereas the manufacturer for Russian firearms is usually just the government

I believe this build is meant to be a closer representation of an AS VAL used by Russian SF in modern day.
PC : I'm really excited about the Remington 700, although it seems both are bugged.
Xbox: the thing I like most about season 6 are the weapons. If IW continues adding guns I’d like to see a Mark23 pistol.

Xbox : loving the new sniper of course, but the added old boards I'm really loving takes me back to when I first started playing COD. Hopefully they decide to bring in nuketown at some point ..
Ps4: Ive been enjoying the new r700. I always used the ax-50 due to it's faster mobility and agility. But the r700 has filled that hole. Besides, it looks really great

Mw giving me Bf4 vibes more and more everyday, we got As Val now and the new tank Map reminds me Zavod 311 from bf4 idk why but there is similarities in two Map but Zavod was op back in they and they were add night mode on that too. New leaks says there is Soap reference in datas and HK G28 was leaked very before i hope we get that and i wish they add pp2000 and AEK 971 to complete russian og guns also wish new hanguns like Fn57 or HK p99.

Xbox: I’m wondering what the mid season weapon will be. I hear people say the AA-12 but I would much rather the g28 despite liking the aa-12 more. I just feel like the g28 would just be more customizable.
PS4: I really like the two new weapons especially the R700. I also like the weapon blueprints in the battle pass but I wish they would’ve added more mil-sim skins for the Allegiance faction

PC: I am not really in love with this season but I am really stoked about the r700 sniper, forgot what they call it in game. Great replacement for the kar98k in warzone. Always felt weird to have a nazi-era weapon in modern warfare

Think its been at least 5 season's straight but more loadout slots(if we had prestige still we would have at least 15 atm, I think MWR had 25 and some cods had 100 via MTX in games with less customization for guns/classes ) :D
44 guns some with multiple varients and 100s of options each

PS4: things I don't like about season 6 is farah voice lines when marking target so annoying
Xbox: love the new season, i'm just scared it will be the last. I like the new weapon's and some of the new skin's for the operators especially Bale's yenisey skin.
PS4: we need to see soap as the mid season operator , with us getting two allegiance operators now it hints towards mid season being a coalition operator maybe soap?
