    I was tearing my hair out before I viewed this video. The instructions in the booklet were clear but this video saved my sanity. Thanks for posting.

    This is the absolute best video to watch if you have trouble threading your serger. No other video (and I've watched numerous ones) shows each step so completely as this one. In threading the lower looper most just said to pull to the back. . .where? under the upper looper, below it, or where? The video shows great up close on every detail. Thank you for keeping me from throwing this machine out the window!!!

    I was having such trouble getting my overlocker threaded before I watched this video. You make it so simple. The easiest part was that you showed was how you pushed down the little part that revealed the two hidden threaders before the last one in the lower looper.

    Thank you Ryan - Your video shows and explains very clearly how to thread up a overlocker for someone like me who has never used one ever. I really appreciate you took the time to show close up, so I could see clearly how to do this. A lot of other beginner how to - do not do this. Again, thank you.

    Note to Canadian and American viewers - the machine in this video is a Janome 6234XL and is equivalent to the North American model Pro 4DX.
    I cannot thank you enough for this wonderful video.
    I have had the North American version of this serger/overlocker for over 5 years and have struggled with it so much. I found your video last night and followed it step by step, took my own notes and VOILA - for the first time, it works properly. There are a few fiddly bits that are not covered very well in the manual. This video is brillliant!

    In 8 years I have never ever threaded my machine from scratch. I always just knot the threads and pull them through. But today I cleaned and oiled my machine and one of the loops somehow wasn't correct so it didn't want to loop. I first tried my book with no help. Then a janome video, no help! Thank goodness I found your video, thanks!! She's working beautifully again, I'm so happy!! 🤗 I have a Janome 644D which is luckily almost identical to yours. Thanks for your great video! 🤗

I don't thread mine that much so I forget what and how and now after cleaning and oiling and changing thread nothing wanted to work. Again I came back to your video and it helped again. Thanks so much!!

    I've had my machine for years. My nightmare is having to thread spool 4. I should mention that I went to a class when I first bought my serger but no one showed me the little dohickey that clicks out so you can easily thread the cotton through the impossible green markers. You have changed my sewing life. Bless you child.

    Was there a step missed on the lower loop? It looks like after it's thread though the little eye of the lower looper, it's also tucked in just above that but he doesn't show doing that?

  • @dwilkins6724
    @dwilkins6724 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Brilliant video Ryan - really helped. Just to confirm, you do need to push the lower looper auto thread mechanism back in place before threading the upper looper? Is this correct? Darren

    I have had my Janome for 30 years and have used it a lot you don't have to thread it every time you change your colour just tie the and pull them through much easier

    • @RyanRixSewing
      @RyanRixSewing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know :) I just done this for demonstration purposes

    • @pjmlenn1857
      @pjmlenn1857 ปีที่แล้ว

      But if the thread somehow doesn't pull through successfully, you're in trouble. I hate it when the thread doesnt pull through. Now, Im completely fine if it doesnt as this video has shown me that pop out dohickey.

    Hello is this the same Stirling brand ?
    Can you do a tutorial about the Stirling Overlock

    • @RyanRixSewing
      @RyanRixSewing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, this is janome overlocker. I’m not familiar with Stirling, but all overlockers have these basic functions :)

  • @triciaturnbull7304
    @triciaturnbull7304 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am struggling with my overlocker. I've followed the instructions for threading but it's not right. the lower looper is not connecting with the left needle and I'm not getting the seam stitched. 😱

    • @RyanRixSewing
      @RyanRixSewing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it the same overlocker as the one in this video? If not it may be slightly different as this is just a guide

    Thank you so much for making me not throw this machine away. The manual is so bad it’s disgraceful for Janome to then provide a cd. I’m sorry who has one of those.

  • @tamsinburstein2541
    @tamsinburstein2541 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    It looked right but I ended up with a big knot when I started sewing

    • @RyanRixSewing
      @RyanRixSewing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check your machine manual if it’s a different machine as it may be required to be threaded in a different order!

  • @michaeltexeira6185
    @michaeltexeira6185 ปีที่แล้ว

    You have the best serger. Janome. But the threading is in incorrectl order. You start with the Upper looper first. Lower looper next,,,,right needle next. Last left needle. You also need to get a better tweezer,,, otherwise all is good. Try it my way. Been doing this like 50 years.

    • @RyanRixSewing
      @RyanRixSewing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your advice, but as you can see in the video this method works perfectly fine and is correct for this specific machine :)

    My machine DOES MAGIC TRICKS!!🪄✨️
    So I have no issue with threading...
    Some how the thread manages to come out of a SOLID metal loop in the upper looper while still attached at BOTH ends!!
    And yes I re threaded it 4 times I even rewatched the instructions!
    So as I said MAGIC!!🪄✨️
