    - 15:24 I like when you guys actually have the time on the screen so we can see how long it took her in between to take each baby. That gives an estimate of how far she went.

    I had a racoon on my house roof. Before she had her litter, she was in the chimney making a nest. I used Boss Buck Shark Teeth strips on each of the downspouts so once she was down she couldn't get back up. Then after knowing she was off the roof, I had the chimney screened.

    Raccoons are good mommas. I once saw a family run after their daytime refuge was cut down in the daytime. They cry almost like human babies. Thanks for making the time and effort in reuniting momma and babies rather than euthanizing them. Raccoons do serve a purpose in the food chain.

      Their job is to remove the animals and cover the holes to keep out the water, and prevent the animals from returning, not replacing the roof.
      That’s the owners responsibility to get a roofer up there to replace those bad shingles and make a more permanent repair.

    How many alternate dens do raccoons have in case one is compromised?

    • @michellehart6780
      @michellehart6780 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      None. They basically kick them out in the street with no where to go, I’m guessing most babies don’t survive after this. All because some selfish human couldn’t tolerate their existence in a roof for a few weeks. These poor animals have no where left to go because humans have devoured their habitat and can even be gracious enough to share the roof of their home for a month

    • @christines2451
      @christines2451 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Im hanging in watching it- yall supposedly know what youre doing, but for the life of me, I cannot figure what you think she can DO suddenly, w/ 4 babies & No Home?? It just doesnt seem ideal. Especially in a fenced in area in the suburbs.I know she knows her surroundings, but it just seems so cut & dried & sad.Stuck- like so much wildlife here the building will not ever stop until its all taken up w/ houses (personal note, why Im moving, my Fla beach towns being over run w/ Northern Retirees, building their 3 story Dream homes, instead of buying OMG- a USED HOUSE! - They come & Destroy, what it was that made a place special. )

    • @christines2451
      @christines2451 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a valid question. However, they do explain in their earlier videos that they always have an alternate den. For various reasons. So when she comes to relocate her babies she is taking them to the secondary den. They are not just leaving them in the streets to figure out what to do lol. This is what they want people to know and become aware of because a lot of times people will take the babies to a rescue or something when all they had to do was leave them for mom to come back and care for them

    You do a great business, guess you walk the neighborhood and hand out your cards since you failed to relocate or euthanize the raccoon. I know everyone will say I’m cruel, that’s fine but these “experts” just made this someone else’s problem. Also you should really get some training on how to attach exclusions to a roof where it won’t cause a leaking issue for the homeowner, a tube of roofing tar isn’t the answer, but I will say the roof is way past due for a replacement.
    Also for those who think I’m cruel on how to deal with these raccoons understand that the cost of removal is just the beginning for the homeowner. The insulation is likely urine and feces soaked and will have to be replaced, the drywall on the ceilings may also need replaced. These repairs can cost up to 10,000 or more depending on how severe the damage is. Unless you specifically have a policy that covers this then it is out of pocket. Now imagine that the saved raccoons are likely going to the neighbors house and doing the same there. And as the family grows they will likely take up residence in the neighborhood greatly increasing the odds of human/ animal interactions that can sometimes be unpleasant at best. Sorry to say but you should really get a co2 box and euthanize on the spot, it’s very humane in the big scheme of things. Chemical dispatch is very commonly used in the nuisance wildlife business and it’s how this situation should have been handled.
