- This is everyone’s favorite little a**hole, Roscoe. He was rescued and bottle fed by family friends and then came to live with me in the middle of nowhere while he figures out how to be a raccoon. He’s gotten pretty good at finding his own food, but his chunky little butt will never turn anything you have to give him down.

We had a female raccoon as a pet, years ago. Found her in the spring, wandering along the road, as we were coming home from planting a field of corn. She was acting as if she might be sick, so we got her in a seed corn sack without touching her.
We got her home, and put her in the bottom of a 55 gallon drum, with some dry dog food and water. Turned out she must have been either dehydrated, or starving, because after she ate and drank, her acting sick went away. She wasn’t full grown, so we figure she somehow got separated/ lost her mother and didn’t know how to take care of herself in the wild.
We kept her penned up for awhile, but when she got full sized, and fall came, we’d start letting her out during the day, free to climb trees and do what she wanted.
Eventually, on night she wasn’t around. Then she was back the next day/ night. A bit later she was gone for a couple days, and then eventually she took off for good. We figured we’d never see her again, but that was fine as she’d gone off on her own.
The next spring, she returned and had her litter of kits on the farm, where she considered home. She definitely remembered us, but wasn’t quite as willing to be petted, etc...
Once her kits got old enough, she took off again, but she repeated the process of coming back to have her kits again the next year. So we got to see her raise two litters, over two years.

I stopped to see the roscoe, I have the 25th generation of raccoons living above my home, they used to run up my leg across my shoulders and down the other... so I checked out u’r Chan....and I have new kittens as well....it was a pleasure to have a snapshot of America....may not get to u’r Chan again but I’ll give you a follow.... thanx
The cat was wondering where his/her treats were. Lol
And cat is pulling out all the stops for attention, exposing the belly, the cute meows, but there is just no competing with semi-domesticated wild creatures on that front.
I worked out of Newark NJ. Big City life- one night on my balcony one fell onto it and him/her became friends...But I'd be gone for work sometimes up to a week- one night he showed up and all I had was Golden Grams and Reese Cups. He loved it! I went inside to watch tv I came back his whole family was out there atleast- atleast 10 of his family and friends! It was like they were at Golden Corral! He'd come by once in a while but then stopped. I miss him. Tht was 20 years ago! All together he'd been visiting me for about a year. That's nice of you for looking out for him. 💝
It takes a special kind of person to take in and properly care for an orphaned animal. You are appreciated.
I'm always amazed watching stuff like this.
I raised a coon on a bottle once and she was an awesome pet. My Doberman and Suzie would play for hours. She would stand at the fridge and pat the door till we opened it and gave her some grapes. If I told her we didn't have any grapes today, she would put her head down and slowly go get in her bed and pout. She minded better than most kids I've seen. When it was time for us to go to bed, I would tell her time for bed and she would go get in her cage. I know they are nocturnal in the wild but she never showed that tendency. She would sit and watch tv with us and never be any problem. She was house broke and never made a mess in the house. We sure had lots of fun with her!!!!

He is so sweet . I'm surprised he doesn't like your dog . When I fostered a baby raccoon she LOVED the dog ( dog loved her too )

I raised 5 of them when I was younger I had to bottle feed them and take care of them, what a job but was well worth it for the experience.

They are great till they grow up ! A friend used to raise them. My wife thought it was so cute that a young raccoon would come on our back porch and eat with the cats. I told her this would not end well. One night we heard a blood curdling scream from the back porch, when I got out there the raccoon was on top of our oldest female cat killing it ! Needless to say that raccoon is no more !

Anyone else jealous of this raccoon? All jokes aside she has a beautiful heart to take care of these critters. I know for a fact that girls in my area would be calling their husband\boyfriend to somehow get rid of the raccoon.
I had a relative that had a baby raccoon . It's mother had died, and he decided to raise it. That sucker got so mean it was ridiculous. It was never mistreated. It is hard to take the wild out of a wild animal.

I had one as a pet when I was a kid. He would not let you touch his head and his claws were so sharp that it was impossible to let him climb on you. After he was a year or so old he took off on his own.

You should feed him a strawberry/blueberry yogurt granola bar from chewy, they LOVE it. I feed about 20 different raccoons in the back of my job and i will put cat food, grapes, blueberries, and the yogurt granola bars out and they will only go for the granola bars until theres no more lol

My raccoon Fellah likes to sit on the back porch on summer evenings, catching and eating June Bugs that are attracted to the lights.

I wouldn't let that thing near anyone under the age of 1 years old,
unless the child had sword and buckler training, and was properly equipped with leather armor.

Raccoons are animals. When they get hungry they eat. Let them get close to your face...your nose might look like a grape. They are not pets.

You are gonna love when he pulls up your lawn to get grubs....oh, are you gonna grow grapes for him.....he will pick every one under ripe and you won't get any...they are as strong as a super hero....also goes nuts for cherry trees....they will prune the tree at the same time....I wish you luck.....I have like 400 of thoose on my hobby farm .....I catch one a day and take them 40 kms away ....they probably just make their way back....I could baptize them in the cage in my pond but I am not a devil worshipper.....anyways good luck with that beast....lol Steve....your fellow brother in Christ...
