I had a mother racoon rip a 3 ft hole in my roof. We weren't home, the house behind me on the hill saw it. She sent her kids to leave a note on my door to tell me I had a hole in my roof. Unfortunately, the mother's escape route was down a tree by the same door. The two met, children screamed and ran, mother racoon freaked and took all the babies back into my house. Other neighbors acted like I was raising racoons that would eat their children. 😒 that's me, putting the cul-de-sac in danger. So the only person I found that would remove racoons was a 75 year old trapper missing 2 fingers on each hand. I was sorry to find out he destroyed the babies. "They'd only rip a hole in somebody else's roof." The mother showed up to look at me pathetically. I really felt bad about it.

WOW! I mean, really, WOW! I had no idea squirrels were such good moms. I've lived around them in both city and country locations my entire life. I love to watch them and talk to em.
I had a dog, who passed away a couple weeks ago, I miss her so so much and this video reminded me of her.
Gracie, was a "hunter" (back in her glory days. Climb any fence, unlock any crate, scale porch railings. She was so so smart.) and the squirrels would get onto the fence (OUT of reach) or hold onto a trees bark upside down so they could see the ground, and scream, not a normal CHITTER, it I was like a GET OFF MY AREA U MONGREL type chitter, at her lol.
She was old and fat and had no chance of catching one but the squirrels would throw empty nuts and pine cones even tiny prices of wood at her lol. OMG endlessly funny, they would warn all the neighborhood squirrels "Gracie is out!!"
Thanks for the GREAT video, the humane manner u do ur job and the education. Truly.

We have an old stump in our back yard. We had the tree cut down, it was really big and leaning towards the neighbors house. It was also almost dead. Ever since we cut it down, rabbits use the stump for a nest. We always get to see the babies when they grow and come out. I love the baby rabbits! It's been 4yrs and we are just going to let the stump rot away on it's own.

Now is perfect for them. They have fur to keep them warm and are nursing less frequently, which gives mom more time to find another nesting place. As well as small and young enough for mom to be more able and willing to rescue them. I have rescued many squirrels who were much older with their eyes open where the mother struggled so bad trying to carry, then coach them to follow her and she ended up so exhausted she gave up and left them. Of course there have been plenty of mothers who didnt give up no matter how long it took. But sometimes there are mothers with less experienced or just doesnt have a strong mothering instinct.

@@pommiebears Empathy is in short supply these days, and you clearly don't have much either. You likely feel for the squirrels because they look cute, meanwhile you feel nothing for the homeowners. I've had squirrels in my house before. They are not harmless, and even when they aren't doing damage, they still can make a fair bit of noise at odd hours. Squirrels regularly chew on things to strengthen their teeth; and when they live in your house, it will be your house they chew on.
This can lead to a lovely array of problems, which can cause some pretty severe damage.
      1) They can put holes in your walls and roof, which will let more water/moisture in. This will promote fungal growth, which can cause the structure of the house to rot away over time.
      2) They can chew through wires, which at best will knock out some power, and will require you to hire someone to come in and redo your wiring. At worst, they could start a fire, which clearly won't be cheap to fix, not to mention will put you at risk too.
      3) Squirrels will still be looking for food, which will likely come from around or in your house. Not to mention, they will likely bury some of that food in your lawn, so I hope you like a lot of holes in your lawn when they dig it up.
      4) Some squirrels are nocturnal, which means they will be moving at night. The ones I had certainly did, and that can be annoying to deal when you are trying to sleep.
It's easy to just say the homeowners should just wait when it's not your house and wallet on the line. Chances are those squirrels were doing some damage, or the homeowners were afraid they would start to do some damage. Also, it's hard to hate the homeowners or the people they hired, when they didn't kill or harm the squirrels. They got the squirrels out, and likely fixed the damage they dealt in order to get the squirrels out.

@Gates Wildlife Control you are doing the right thing by relocating mama Squirrel and her three little amigos from the house and into a pine hollow. By watching your videos makes me want to save animals and open up a sanctuary for the rescued ones

What a great job, what a great team! So fun & interesting to watch and learn. Just as informative as watching National Geographic!
