Use the tools that give you the results you want. I moved from Fuji to Sony last fall and have been very happy with the photos I am getting with that gear. I use the 200-600 lens on a A7IV or A9 body and it works great. Thank you for your videos, I find them very informative.
I always said that I would never sell my D500/500pf combo. Well I up and did that to much dismay. I am glad I am back with the D500/500pf Combo. Photography is great.
I rented the Nikon D500 and really thought it was a well built camera with good control layout. Being 20mp the pixel pitch is larger per pixel compared to other brands with 24mp sensors in APS-C which leads to lower noise at high ISO due to larger pixel pitch. Nikon has some great lenses for the D500 so this makes it great to use. I went with full frame as I don't really do wildlife that much, and picked the Nikon D750 and later D780 and use the FX 28-300mm which is sharp enough for me plus the 24-120mm F4. I liked the D500 though when I used it. Great review!
Ron you state that you went from Nikon to Sony and then back to Nikon, but may I ask what made you leave the very capable. and well spoken of D500 to begin with?
To be honest I thought it was gonna be a game changer for my wildlife photography and give me fantastic results. I listened to TH-cam gear reviews to much. Got all excited to get a new rig. It was an eye opener.
@@rdphoto2 I have been shooting since '09 and seriously since '11 and I learned very early that what makes for, "game changing" is composition (how we see things) and glass (superior glass); I'm sure your image and work are fine my friend.
Depends. Most of the time I will print Nature Shots at 11x14 or 12x18. Most of my Bird Photographs I will do at 8x10. Try looking at Local Businesses in your city or town. They always have some blank wall space that you could strike a deal to use. Another place to sell is at Art Shows put that takes a little more investment in infrastructure and inventory to pull off.
Question - regarding the high ISO noise on the A6700, at the time of those images, did you have your "High ISO NR" setting set to "Off", "Low", or "Normal"?
@@rdphoto2 that's disappointing to hear, since to my understanding, the "Normal" setting is more noise reduction than "Low" (why don't they just call it "high"...) I was thinking of buying the a6700 for my first camera to take with me when I travel... Do you think it's still an alright choice or is the noise just a deal breaker?
The mirrorless cameras are not refined yet. I always find myself putting the Canon R7 down and grabbing my DSL. Same issues with ISO in the R7...way too high.
I have booth DSLR and Mirrorless Nikons. I have recently found my self using my DSLR more often. I still use the Mirrorless but mostly for Landscapes and Video.
Needlessly rude! For those who have been, are, or want to be, Nikon D500 shooters, a user's comments remain interesting, and relevant. You can please yourself!
Welcome back to the true camera company.
Thanks. Feels like a nice pair of shoes.

I totally agree with your opinions. I have sony 6400 and its not even closed for Wild life. I am glad I still keep my D500
Very few realize just how good the D500 / 500pf combo really is!

As long as you are happy and enjoying it, that is all the matter. The 500 PF is a pretty awesome lens for sure!! 💖

Thank you Woody. Yes I am glad too.

Great video. I’d like to sell prints also. What’s a good size to print nature shots and can you give some advice on where I can sell them?

I appreciate this.
Your welcome. I am glad to do it.

"Why did I switch back to the Nikon" NO ONE CARES!
Thank you appreciate your kind comment
