i was one of yhe ensemble singers at this event…to say it was amazing is quite an understatement…i still feel the joy of this 30 years later & i pray it is viewed again & again 🙏🏻☮️💜
I was sitting a few rows behind Sandi Patty Dave. During the concert I looked around at the audience and it felt like the Heavens opened up that night. It was a perfect concert never to be forgotten. I watched every year with my late mom after on VHS. She loved Michael English. In total I saw in 1990, and twice this tour (Chicago, and Milwaukee) Thanks for posting!
Awesome. I saw it on TV and had met one of the young fellows in the choir. I had met him on a mission trip to the Caribbean a couple of months prior to this concert. He gets a close-up shot during in the video. Anyways, I’ve listening to this concert since then every year during Christmas and more ☺️ I loved every single one of these artists. Hard to choose a favorite. They’re all stupendous ! 🙏🏼
One day decades ago I heard this heavenly music coming from a Christian bookstore. I purchased the VHS tape and digitized it later on to a DVD. There is NO music that comes close to this exaltation of the human spirit. Hallelujah!
Amen, the entire project was uniquely designed and perfected. It also led me to study Handels Messiah masterpiece and I remember seeing many times in Chicago with my late parents. Memories I cherish
@@michaelsemper1606 Michael. I transferred my original VHS tape to a DVD which was not good quality. Do you know if there might be a quality DVD made available to purchase of this performance in 1993?
I would think so through Amazon. I still have the VHS somewhere. This was 1993-4 so maybe not on DVD. I certainly glad I could watch on TH-cam! HNY 2024@@lynnettefeusner3119
@@michaelsemper1606 I imagine that if you still have the VHS tape, a good tech could transfer it to a DVD :) Please keep me posted if you could make this happen. Since I recently lost my husband, this would make this "new" widow do the Happy Dance!!
I saw this twice, both in St. Louis. The first time I went alone at my pastor's suggestion. The second time, I introduced it to a group from my church. All glory be to God on high.
I was honored enough to be able to be a part of that choir. And I will never forget this experience! The people I was with we would take turns. Turning around, especially when Carmen was performing. That was the only drawback, but it was just wonderful to be there. I will never forget it.
@@thrushjzI never thought that I would be able to show my family the amazing experience that i was graced with so thank you so much for sharing this!!!!
We saw The Young Messiah Tour In Atlanta. I grew up singing the regular Messiah, so I really really appreciated this just being in my young when 30's. We bought the CD and my kids grew up hearing it all the time. They were homeschooled and no earbuds back then. Thank you for putting it on TH-cam. It is wonderful listening to it 30 year later. Steve Green's performance of "I Know My Redeemer Liveth" was stunning. All the performances are wonderful. I saw Steve Green at Word of Life in Schroon Lake, NY.
This concert is one of my favorites of all time. I owned the DVD version of this years ago and loved it. Then I lent it to a friend, who moved to another state, taking my DVD with her. I was so glad to find this online now.
Thank you for posting this. While in college in the late 80's, I had the opportunity to be in the orchestra for 'Messiah' and then the following two years, the thrill of singing along and performing with my class mates and others from surrounding churches. A few years after graduation, the New Young Messiah toured in a nearby town and my wife and I were able to see it. To say, my heart soared would be an understatement. I was able to get a copy of the CD and for the next 25 years, whenever I had to work on Christmas Eve or Christmas (Peace Officer), when there was a lag in calls, I would go to my 'paperwork spot', pop that CD in and get my God on. Thanks again for posting
I love every single piece in this production. My absolute favorites are Surely He Hath Borne Our Griefs, and Lift Up Your Heads, O Ye Gates. Best Michael English has ever sounded, in my opinion. But every piece is incredible. I just wish this video had the end of the Hallelujah Chorus! But still a great thing to share. Thank you. And great Sax playing, sir!
Thank you so much for posting this. Saw the tour in 1993 in Dallas. One of the best concerts I ever attended and I still listen to this music every December. This was truly a special time and event.
Por fin pude disfrutar de este concierto maravilloso. Lo había escuchado en mi idioma español años atrás y hace un tiempo atrás en Spotify. Hoy tengo el agrado de verlo completo 🤗
Exceptional presentation and reason for raising funds for Christian organizations especially World Vision✝️Michael English one of soloists is a dedicated Christian …
I saw this at the Mabee Center in Tulsa, OK in 1993 at 16 years old. Still, it is the best concert I've ever attended and still listen to it / watch it to this day. Having served in AV ministry since my teens, it would be interesting to know what kind of audio system was used on this tour.
That's great you've been doing audio and Visual in ministry for that long! If I remember correctly it was Claire Brothers audio, who made their own sound systems and did most of the big tours at that time. I believe they're still doing it.
Yes, I remember this concert, this was a pay - per - view concert on tv at the time and called my cable company to purchase this concert and copied it from my VCR at the time. Then a year later around Christmas time 1994, Sparrow Records decided to release the 1993 pay- per - view on VHS format. I am so glad I kept the whole concert that copied from Pay Per View. In My honest I think that Sparrow Records ripped us Christians off and the reason I say that is because they decided to release first half of the concert which were Christmas Carols on VHS and then they released the second half of the concert on another VHS format tape - which was known as the Young Messiah concert. But in reality it was one big concert. So yes, I believe in my utmost opinion I think Sparrow Records should have released the 1993 Pay - Per- View concert on one VHS tape and not divide the concert in two VHS tape format. God Bless - Jason

Wow what a blessing! Can you share some memories about that night or thay tour that impacted you? Or anything about that experience

I heard this when I first accepted Christ...foundational for my Christian upbringing...truly what I call mountaintop music!!!

I saw this in Kansas City, Mo. It was MAGNIFICENT. Some of the primary singers were swapped out, but it was still beautiful.

Any clue where one could acquire the original master tape for this!?!?! Would be worth an awful lot to me personally!
No, sorry
I'd try Ebay if I were you! You never know!
Carman, Tell em.
Do you happen to know all the performers? I know most of them but a few I don’t know
Yes I know all of them. I toured with these people every Christmas for 4 years in the 90s. I haven't seen any of them however for years.
Who are the two women that sing with Sandy Patti?
@@christydethlefs9850 Marabeth Jordan is the Redhead and TBH I forget the other singers name. From the group First Call.
