I have become addicted to your reviews since discovering them last week. My idea of a quick but euphoric escape (and antidote) from a week in the office is a Friday night cruise of the mall perfume counters. But your reviews add the extra dimension I'm been missing! What an exquisite mystery ... that the whole universe can be distilled into these little bottles of french potions. Thank you for bringing your gift of stories and words to these mysterious communions
I like how you look afar when you start describing the scents - a clear sign of the mind-jamming. What you wear really do show who you are, the scents you love the most feel very you in texture. Enjoyed very much, thank you for posting.
you look particularly pretty and fresh here :) What I like most about your videos, is that you're so good at describing the notes and the feeling it gives, and I can feel the perfume love myself
I tell it like I smell it, all right, and I'm pleased I'm hitting the spot for you. Smell is a profound and intimate sense, and you're correct, "unexamined taboos" sums up a lot of reactions to scents. The disturbing nature of smell is one of the things that attracts me to perfume analysis.
katie, you make me so happy. i love watching and listening......i love musc nomade and you describe it so beautifully and with such great style...it makes me excited about the ones you have that i havent had smelled. thank you so much for doing this. its very inspiring and lovely.
Katie your reviews are always a treat but this one made me smile with the references to the Charlie ad and and muguet. I had an Avon muguet perfume as a young girl, very fond of this type of scent. I'll be on the hunt for samples of these, they sound so unique!
I'm so glad you mentioned Absolue pour le Soir. I ordered a sample of it and have fallen in love. What a beauty! I much prefer this skanked-up, naughty type of honey fragrance to Kilian's Back to Black.
I adore your reviews, and I direct all potential fumeheads that I encounter to your videos. You make a perfume come alive with your descriptions and I've sampled a number of them that I otherwise never would have. Also, thanks for bringing up the Man-toddler and Perma-teen dressing! Friends and I were just lamenting this the other day!
That's my jam! LOL. Thrilled to see this collection update vid in my subs list. Looking forward to learning about your other new treasures. My current love is Diptyque's L'Eau de Lierre edt. Perfect for chilly Paris when worn with my Laura Mercier fig body creme.
OMG I've been waiting for a new collection video! I saw your other one's and you have the best of the best perfume collection's I've ever seen! I love your taste in perfume, it's amazing!
Somehow you keep getting younger and more beautiful year by year, don't know how you do it. Really good look for you this one. Great insight and presentation as usual. Come back Katie your reviews were/are always great.
I content myself with clandestine visits to my perfume collection: I take them out of the closet where I keep them and have a little sniff-thorugh to say hello. I do rotate 5-10 favorite bottles to a more accessible cabinet (but still out of light) - they become my high rotation ones. Lately I've been stuck on Aromatics Elixir, Bruno Acampora Musc, The People of the Labyrinths A*Maze, Frederic Malle Une Rose, and a decant I have of Nasomatto Nuda.
Love ya forever. Just watched a video about Eric Clapton and saw your face! Made me so happy. Nostalgic about your fragrance videos, and glad they are up-will watch again❤
These videos were done very well (you really know your stuff)! Also, I just wanted to say I like how you don't cover up ( what seems to be a scar) on your eyebrow! I also have a scar on my eyebrow and refuse to cover it up!
Can't wait to see the rest of the collection. I loved your first series, can't believe that was a few years ago. Love how you describe them, you have such a way with words. BTW, you look so much like Mira Sorvino. :-)
This was so much fun! I'ts nice to learn more about what you enjoy wearing personally...your "jams" so to speak! :-) I absolutely agree with you about the Studio 54 era elegance. It was sophisticated, and chic, but also glamorous and adult.. very Bianca Jagger! That's why I love your descriptions...I feel like I know just what you mean (unless of course I'm completely off the mark). Can't wait to more of your collection :-)
Hmmm...Back to Black is pretty poofy-woofy, in my experience. Others in that same genre you could try are Diptyque Volutes, Molinard Habanita, and Serge Lutens Chergui, which is the densest of these three.
Oh THERE you are! I feel bad now. I just scanned an old picture of you on my blog, asking where the hell you are now! And here you are, looking AMAZING. Wow. Come back to Tv and make Tv good again! You're wonderful ;-)
I have a soft spot for those drugstore musks. My dad used to wear Jovan Musk for Men - I think it's great. It's in the same arena as Keihl's Original Musk.
I know there are these kind of corporate industry booster events in the US, UK and France, and probably elsewhere. I've never been to one. There are also perfume fairs around the world (Italy, NYC, etc), where brands display their lines.
Lovely Katie, will you do a post or video on your jewellery? And perhaps some fashion? I hope it is not too much of a tall order, because your rings have really caught my eye of late. Merci et bonne continuation ! x Nadine.
True. A few years ago you did your inaugural 'fume collection videos yes. A few years down the line you look younger while still maintain your knowingosity and vigour (and excessive hotness). Madame Benjamina Button.
Hi Katie! I love your videos! I was inspired to try by Kilian's Back to Black thanks to you and I love it. Can you recommend something that is like Back to Black but with more sillage? Thanks!
Katie could you please review some Diptyque fragrances? I recently approached their perfumes and became fascinated by these glorious vegetal fragrances such as Lierre and L'Ombre dans L'Eau. Thanks in advance!
From what I understood , Noir can be interpreted on the positive side and the negative side. Now I'm more confused .what do you think of the versace crystal noir? thank you!
I love watching your videos! I was wondering if you remembered the original Guess perfume from the 90's? They've since reformulated the juice, but I was wondering if there was a fragrance out there like it? Also, which discontinued fragrances did you love and have you found a replacement for it?
Hi Katie!..In Absolue Pour le Soir is the caraway note very apparent? Being from Western NYS I associate caraway with kimmelweck rolls and beef on weck sandwiches not perfume. PS Great reviews, and I like that phrase "medicine for the soul"...it's so true!
have you ever smelled bath and body works' moonlight path scent? if so, what are your thoughts on it? and can you recommend other scents similar to it. if you haven't smelled it, i would describe it as a floral, powdery musk with an airy clean quality to it. thanks!
"This doesn't smell poopy..I don't want to overstate the cow pat element." hahaha!! I'm so glad you mentioned Kurkdjian!!! (And Apl Soir is actually my personal favorite scent within his new line).
I love love love your channel ,Katie! can't wait to see all your collection.... what is the story about all the 'noir ' perfume? does the name 'noir' meaning something about the perfume? i'm interesting in the Versace 'crystal noir'. I don't know why but the name 'noir' a little scar me or maybe I didn't understand it... thank you so much!
Katie, have you ever tried Christian Dior's "J'adore L'or" it only comes in 40mls and very intense, i find it beautiful but not for everyday, i bought it and wore it to the opera in milan last week. I would love to hear your opinion on it x x
Haha...it's more fun to potty-mouth it up about hindquarters than flowers, so I suspect I overstress the skank factor in those perfumes when I'm chatting away in my videos. You're right, perfumes are supposed to smell good. But the composition of a "proper" perfume does include musky and animalic materials, even in teensy amounts, to provide a bridge to the skin, a relationship to the human body. Otherwise, it would just smell like a room freshener.
Vice has a pretty funny story on wearing Secretions Magnifique that I thought you'd appreciate....sorry I can't post the link here due to youtube and its spam control Love these collection videos!
Gosh, I just love your smile and exuberance! I ADORE your outfit! I think you need to take me shopping LOL. May I be so presumptious as to attach a video response. It's long and going to be 2 parts, but my attempt to describe the Fragrance Journey I've begun. This was a really Fun and inspirational video. Thank you for all your work (great background and lighting). Hugs, Susan
With such a large collection, how do you keep them from degrading? With such beautiful bottles, it's nice to actually see them, but I know you should keep the bottles out of the light. Do you rotate bottles in and out of sight?
Oh my gosh Katie I'm up late trying to find a scent I tried from one of your collection reviews. It was a very small bottle you had and coveted, only made in small batches & extremely expensive. I sent away for a very small sample that probably cost $35.00-$40.00 ~ I know this is a vague description but I'm hoping you can refresh my memory. *of course it's incense-y Thank you so much! ☆a young version of myself = Ultima II Sheer Scent, a bit more mature version of myself = Chaos by Donna Karen, and the most adult version of myself *so far* = Bulgari Jasmine Noir Wendy xo
"Noir" (French for "black") is, as you pointed out, hugely overused in recent perfume names. It's shorthand for "this scent is filled with darkness and mystery, and will render you deep and interesting". But the reality often falls short of the promise. It's either completely meaningless, or may suggest that the fragrance is "dirtied up" with patchouli and oakmoss.
Katie, why do brands make so many versions of their perfumes ? Like intense, summer edition, or other things they come up with from the origional. It is so confusing sometimes. Why do they do that ?
Hi Katie, I think you are excellent at this! I have a background in beauty and started in women's fragrances (Nordstrom) and the way you explain things is just..well glorious! I would love your opinion on a clean and sexy spring scent. nothing too fruity or heavy..just clean and sexy...maybe like a feminine version of Akka Kappa Cedro? My husband wears this and I have to sit on my hands to not ravage him constantly!
You are gorgeous! Thank you for your wonderful videos, Katie. Do you also follow FIFI perfume awards? It would be nice to attend one of such events. By the way, I am curious, are there any other high brow-events in the perfume world. Thank you for being you. You are lovely!
hi, could you do a review for XerJoff:More than words? The reviews I found online all say is alluring and gorgeous but I would like an opinion from you. Does it justify the price? I'm looking to buy this for someone who likes to keep the same perfume for a long time without changing them much so just wondering if it's a good choice. Her favourite perfume is by Rituals:No 4 which is a violet and lily of the valley based scent but she likes fruity florals in general. Thank you in advance
You were the pioneering first to do an extensive series of fragrance reviews on YT. There have been hundreds, since. You are still THE BEST.
You are the most articulate perfume reviewer I've ever encountered. Your descriptions are the best and most informative. Love your videos!
Watching in 2022 and still the best fragrance reviews on the internet. Thank you.

I was so excited to see you had uploaded another video.I really enjoyed your perfume collection videos,I was so happy to see an update.
I love your reviews. You're so descriptive about them and I love every single detail^^

Aw, thank you! I'll try to make it happen.
Goodness. I could listen to you talk about fragrances forever. Such vivid descriptions! Love, love, love it!
Always love rose and incense. Melon gives me the shivers.
I'm so glad you mentioned Absolue pour le Soir. I ordered a sample of it and have fallen in love. What a beauty! I much prefer this skanked-up, naughty type of honey fragrance to Kilian's Back to Black.

Me and my mate were remembering you from the Word. We loved you 😊
It's always a pleasure to watch a video of yours.

i loved the fashion rant at the end- you're right about that

Loving my MLK Absolue pour le Soir too! Also girl, that lipstick color looks AMAZING on you!
I don't remember that Guess one. The discontinued perfume I mourn is Ultima II Sheer Scent from Revlon. The closest was the original Dior Fahrenheit.
Love and miss Katy. Hope you are happy and well.
Ah! I love your "mysterious communions"!
Hi Katie! Great video. What notes in perfume do you love the most? Also, which do you dislike the most? Just inquiring. Thanks for the video!
I always enjoy your fragrance reviews. Would you say this is your favorite rose scent of all time? If not which one would be your favorite?
Oh THERE you are! I feel bad now. I just scanned an old picture of you on my blog, asking where the hell you are now! And here you are, looking AMAZING. Wow. Come back to Tv and make Tv good again! You're wonderful ;-)

And Prada just brought out a new Candy: Candy l'eau, which throws berry notes into the mix. Sniff that one out, too.
PLEASE please pleaseee make a review on Poeme by Lancome! It is my favourite perfume
I know that this has nothing to do with fragrance, but what is the color of your lipstick? It's gorg!
Lovely Katie, will you do a post or video on your jewellery? And perhaps some fashion? I hope it is not too much of a tall order, because your rings have really caught my eye of late. Merci et bonne continuation ! x Nadine.

Hi Katie...do u remember L'Effleur by Coty ? It's been discontinued for a long time unfortunately, but it was one of my all-time favorites.
From what I understood , Noir can be interpreted on the positive side and the negative side.
Now I'm more confused .what do you think of the versace crystal noir? thank you!

Thank you, Katie, for being completely passionate about each and every scent you come across. Animal Magnetism, I say - pure instinct.
You are awesome! I love your videos. I have been a little obsessed with Vera Wang Lovestruck. Thoughts on that one?
It's 2021 , I miss your fragrance reviews.

Not to sound silly but what do you think of Jovan Musk. I also like musk fragrances, but I have been on the outs with Jovan.
"This doesn't smell poopy..I don't want to overstate the cow pat element." hahaha!!
I'm so glad you mentioned Kurkdjian!!! (And Apl Soir is actually my personal favorite scent within his new line).

They are great reviews - more please! (and adorable dimples!)
Don't recall that one.
Thanks indeed!
Yey!! Thank you very much Katie P! I have always loved your collection videos. You were the first youtube perfumista I watched and followed. =)
Vice has a pretty funny story on wearing Secretions Magnifique that I thought you'd appreciate....sorry I can't post the link here due to youtube and its spam control

Katie come back!!!!!
Hi, could u do a review on Lady Million of Paco Rabanne?
Fleurs du Male is an absolute favorite of mine! How do you feel about MFK APOM?
Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules sounds like exactly what you're looking for. It's clean and sexy, smells like a blend of cedar wood and sandalwood.
Laura Mercier Pink Dusk!
With such a large collection, how do you keep them from degrading? With such beautiful bottles, it's nice to actually see them, but I know you should keep the bottles out of the light. Do you rotate bottles in and out of sight?
Pretty pretty please do another update!

Hello Katie, I enjoy your reviews very much. I would love if you would review Mitsouko, by Guerlain and Diorissimo by Dior please please please.
How many perfumes do you have in total, Katie?
I do have an Opium review up...
Hi Katie, I think you are excellent at this! I have a background in beauty and started in women's fragrances (Nordstrom) and the way you explain things is just..well glorious! Katie you looks so beautiful! Love the top and your rings so adorable ! Great video! Ciao Bella.
Are you gonna review your former youtube companion/rival's perfume brand Kerosene?
You are gorgeous! Thank you for your wonderful videos, Katie. Do you also follow FIFI perfume awards? It would be nice to attend one of such events. By the way, I am curious, are there any other high brow-events in the perfume world. Thank you for being you. You are lovely!

Why did I write 'maintain' instead of 'maintaining'? Anyone have a spare grammar book to lend me?
