I was looking for one of these for on the back of my Craftsman GT with a sleeve hitch.... couldn't justify $250-$350 for store bought (made in China). Thanks for the video and inspiration.
You should put a Piece of chain connected to both sides in the shape of you and then have a pen in the middle sticking out so far that way you can just drop one of the loops of chain onto it and it will kind of keep that straight but it will also allow a little bit of flotation with it
Im starting a simialr job,,what drill bits are best to buy to drill the angle iron,,i have many titanium bits but they have issues with cutting through even bed frame type angle...is there a good palce to buy the tines that dont charge you too much,,prices are all the place
With the swivel at the rake if one side of the rake hangs a root or something heavy at one end of the rake what will keep it from turning parallel to the boom and dumping everything out? Am I missing something?
my thoughts are you should use a plate with adjustment holes and fashion it so you can totally spin blade around backwards for pushing also. just a thought.....................
I will likely do just that. I had thought about hooking up a hydraulic cylinder to control it on the fly, but that probably won't happen. Once I get time to mess with it, I'll just make a plate and pin system.
Great vid. Nice job. Actually, the tongue should pivot at the hitch end and be welded into a T at the working end. No more problems with misangulation! S.
Those tines are now $7.99, that's double the price in 4 years. I'd like to build one but all I have to pull it with right now is a Kubota mini excavator and that's not a good machine for this. I'm looking for an old tractor.
@@Viralclown couldnt you get tubing at roughly the same diameter and width, then use a band saw to slice the tubing into slices then all you need to do is cut the hoops twice to get two semi circles it wouldnt be the exact tine shape but surely a semi-circle cant be that bad?
Yes, just an auto tent-shelter I purchased from Menards (like a Home Depot). Its my shop until I can afford to build a pole building for a shop one day :D
I love MN and I love homesteading and I need a rock rake. Good job, sir :)
Great video.
Where's the update?
I'm curious to see how you ended up controlling the swing.
Nice Video! I grew up in Minnesota on the iron range. Good job so far

prices for these are ridiculous, good job.
If you bought a target 12 inch plate cut hole in center for pivot. Notch it for stops or drill it either one.
THANK U FOR INFO 😀😀😀😀😀

Heck yeah! Looks good, where did you order the tines from?

@@MinnesotaHomesteading where did you get the tea that for the rake?

I enjoyed this and like the 2in hitch idea. Thanks
It was more of a "how do I speed this project up" than anything, but it does reduce cost and time of another 3 point mount! Thanks for watching!
What are you using for the rake teeth ?
Ikr, or a heads up of where viewers are buy them...
Did anybody ever answer where he got the teeth at?
Tractor Supply. $3.99 each plus shipping

i dont see why the cross piece the teeth attach to cant be made from timber either, scrap laminate timber, just bolted on with big penny washers
Are you using standard lawn rake teeth the size you needed. Several asked. I saw none answered.
Yes, standard (small) teeth.
The part number for them is at 9:43.
Great build. Did you purchase the enclosure you are building this in?Thanks

Minnesota Homesteading cool. Looks to work pretty well. I’m in the same boat! Take care and thanks for reply
Just be sure to put some plywood or something along the walls before you weld in there! Thanks for watching!
It's a scrape blade. Lol.
