Son just got his for his 2022 300RR. We thought we would need to do some tuning. Right out of the box it worked perfect. Had an issue during install and called tech support, left a message, and within 30 minutes they called back. Great product, great company and great customer support.
1st thing I bought for my 2018 beta 250rr re even before I started it up . Still have the oe bagged and in my motorcycle parts cabinet . I love how it can make my 250 lug in 3rd around all the tight single track and pull up any hill I have came across . When racing hs's and hit the power valve and higher rpm's it still pulls and wants to wheelie .
Totally agree with this review. Just got my own and I love it. I also fully support your comment about buying new the next time. These guys have been awesome and very helpful even though I bought used. I'll definitely buy new from them the next go round.
As a long time carb guy and at 64 I would still consider this a “tuneable” carb. I do find having to fiddle with my Keihin carb on my 2023 Beta 300RR a bit of a pain sometimes. The smart carb is definitely on my list of eventual accessories.
It's definitely a good one to try. And like all mods, it may not be for everyone. The resale is still really great as folks are always looking to get them at a discount. I recently went back to the Keihin for testing purposes, and it never disappoints.
Appreciate the review. Nobody else I've seen has mentioned ANY downsides. This is probably going to sound completely insane but I want to try it on my 1997 klr650 lol
Glad to help! There are always downsides...lol. As for being insane adding it to a KLR, not at all! With an adventure beast like that, you could be in the flats, and mountains at 30 deg or 95 deg. It makes sense to me!
I had nothing but problems with this carb. I asked questions and got one email response about a month after I sent it and could only get help on the phone 1 time. I tried and tried and finally put on a FNF fatty and the bike finally started running well ( 2022 Beta Xtrainer 300 ). I had unreal pipe bang, ignition problems etc… I also needed up having to change the metering rod to one size leaner. That was the only “advice” I ever really got. I was really disappointed. Bike runs okay now but I feel like I had to figure out pretty much everything on my own. The “setup” was wrong, the metering rod was wrong, and the customer service was atrocious!! Sorry to burst any bubbles but be cautious and do your homework here!!
I got a SmartCarb for my RM85, and everything was perfect. I also had a couple questions so I reached out, and they were responsive. I got my carb around a year ago as well.

Thank you very much for this excellent review, you’ve shared with us very important information about this product. I own a 2022 beta 300 RR, and I’m having the donation or knocking issues. Do you think that the smart carb will help with this issue?
Possibly. Detonation and what some people call pipe bang can be caused by fueling. If there is a knock in the low rim, that can be piston slap. Beta's have a little rattle down low that most owners identify as normal. My 17 had it and my 24, but unless it's very pronounced, I wouldn't worry too much. Detonation can also be caused by fuel quality. What octane are you running, and what oil mix? I run 93 ethanol free at 50:1 with a low flashpoint oil like Motul 710 or Liquimoly. Additionally, you could try cutting a tank with Race gas to see if it removes the symptom. If it does, you will know for sure it is your gas quality and not the actual fuel delivery via carb. Next question would be, have you gone through your Keihin and jetted to your location? If not, double-check all the jets and needle clip position. Mine was off 1 clip position from the factory. Yes, the Smart Carb fueling down low is better to me. It's smoother off the bottom and cleans up some of the surge that comes from the Keihin transitioning through circuits. Some people say it takes the "hit" but it really just changes the throttle progression. Hope this helps
@@cowpker4life333They could definitely lower the price, cnc work isn't THAT expensive, certainly not as low as a cast carb of course but close to a grand is a little over the top, but having said that, if you hate jetting etc i'd happily pay it still, and i personally think it's much better than the other metering rod alternatives like the lectron.

Nice that you covered a lot of basics

Hard race spots you got there.
Definitely you want a light 2 stroke bike with smartcarb.
Very well done and fair review. Love the way you added the type of riding that you do
Thanks for the comments and supporting the channel! Next up, doing a vid on the new D-F metering rod designed for hard enduro.

Excellent review!
Is the smart carb 2 the final product or will there be a smart carb 3 later in the future?

This is such an excellently done video and review!
Thank ya Sir! I JUST placed my order for a new SC2 going on my 2024 Race Edition. Expect another full review with the dual plug beast!
Waiting on a technology elevated smartcarb to arrive today for my 2011 KTM 300 xc. I'll just have to trim my air boot a bit for airflow.
Just ordered one for my 24 Beta 300! You're going to love it!
The thing I understood about this carb is that it self regulates about the altitude

Great review. Thx. Do you have FMF Gnarly torque pipe?
I do now. The Gnarly has been great. It's definitely a strong pipe!
Crazy race course!
The SC 2 is worth every penny you pay for it. On the fly adjustment while sitting on the bike!
@@Jeff-h9d 100% agree
I would love one of these for my 4T, but cant justify cost. $900 is wild. Cant wait till a legit knockoff is made 😂
WELL DONE 🏁
what needle do you have? greetings
Sorry I never saw this. AQ11, then used the DF11 which was richer down low.
14:05 that smile :D
Go fast!
No reason they can't get the price close to keihin and everybody would buy them
Lot of cnc work on the carbs vs cast of the kehins.
