Is it a good idea to clean my ignition coils with contact cleaner ? I can see some patina on the inside of them, my car has 300k kms and they still haven't been changed and lately I've been having trouble starting the engine sometimes. Spark plugs are new though
I wouldn’t - mainly because I have never done that and don’t know the outcome. I’ve never cleaned mine more than wiping them with a rag. They make a tool that’s really cheap that tests the ignition coil where you just watch for consistent spark. Did you change plugs to resolve the slow start? That might just be carbon build up - I’d pour/spray some seafoam in intake and see how that goes. It’s also cheap.
@@TallFamilyFilms I cleaned the intake already but they were really dark after I did only around 15k kms. I think I'm gonna play it safe and invest in new ignition coils, they're about 20 euros for a good brand. I won't try to clean them, as you suggested, I guess it may not be a good idea.
Yeah - TH-cam limits the video description so I included what I thought most people would search for if they got oil down there. The coil would be a lot easier to clean for sure.
We all know what he meant by the title, but since we want to be Karens, you forgot to capitalize "I" in "Ignition", "your" is not spelled "ur", you should have used a hyphen rather than a comma and you forgot your period. You're missing a definite article at the beginning of your comment as well.
@@lakerdigital No, why would you deliberately mislabel a video? That is just plain stupid and makes it so much harder to find what you are actually looking for (in my case exactly how to clean the coils, and nothing else). If someone points this out, don't be a fucking douche to them at least.

ignition coil is the plug that goes into the chamber/well housing the spark plugs, ur cleaning the housing not the ignition coil buddy
