    Thanks for the video. Had this issue on my snowex hdv. It’s the same plow and harness. It’s just Douglas dynamics hydro lift version. I Can run an mvp3 if I change mount pockets same controller. I still can’t get my left side to work at all. Right side only goes forward. Up down works fine. Anyone have any idea?

      Hey thanks for the quick reply! 2019 or 20 plow, Installed during the covid episode. Started the year after new. Getting worse progressively. Always was able to use grease and have zero issues a night or 5 in 24 hours time next time no issues and off and on.
      Never spread big pins until today. Have me up and down but still nothing on the mentioned above. Will work with an extra set of hands tomorrow to wiggle while on the controller.

      @Silent_Rager_X A problem that comes and goes is hard to fix. Any test you perform could give false results if it starts working again. I would get a good look at the plow wiring. Make sure everything has good contact. Maybe clean grounds. Really hard to help through a comment.

    Same blinking light, I cleaned the connectiith with CRC contact cleaner, still not working.I wiggled the plow side connector where it goes into an enclosure , and started working , then stopped . Did it again , now working.I was going to look at the connections inside , but I will try this first. I really want to get this fixed, my wife's cousin recently passed, and his widow and mom need this working. Thank you for posting this! They live nearly 40 miles away, but I will be in their area tomorrow.

    This may actually be nothing more than a satisfying '''''Temporary Fix''''' ... because those pins you spread out will eventually contract again.
    And untimately, after several times of 'spreading them out', the pin tension will most likely weaken until they no longer have any spring-tension left in them. So, after your second or third quick-fix of spreading them out ... folks with this particular issue might seriosuly consider buying a new harness just to have in stock when they will need it.

      I replaced the truck side and plow side harness like the Western dealer said to do. It stopped the problem for a while, but it still happens every so often. Not near as bad as it was.

      Hooked the plow up today for our first storm of the year and then had to unhook it to run to town. Got the blinking red light first time turning it on. Wiggled main power wire and it's fixed. Really not liking that I paid another $300 for harnesses that didn't fix the problem. I have heard someone say it's the remote. The remote is the oldest thing I have. I have moved it from plow to plow as I bought new ones. I am tempted to get a new remote but that is $300 too.

    I bought a used western 7 1/2 plow ultramount2 and my 4 pin hand remote controller is not getting any power any ideas ? Does the plow has to be connected to the truck in order for the controller to get power? Oh and My truck headlights are not connected to the isolation module 3-port because i don't have the right harness for my truck, right now the plow is not connected to my truck very frustrated situation here..

    My friend just had same issue with wiring only 1 year old.
    He had to replace truck side harness to get the controller to stop blinking.
    Last year the main power connector harness got so hot it melted and deformed . He keeps things clean and dielectric greased so not sure why got so hot.

      On my old pro plow when it started freezing up and I was trying to finish a driveway I melted the solenoid. I was holding the buttons down to long I guess and it got real hot. I have never melted the harness. Mine looked fine. I have plowed a little bit with no issues so far.

    • @mossman381

      I am struggling with the same thing. I put a new main power truck and plow side like the Western dealer told me. It worked for a short time. I plowed the end of that year but next year it came back. It seems like I play with the main power wire and it fixes the issue for a while. Judging by the views this video is getting lately a lot of people are having this issue. Did you change the plow module or the truck side module? Some have said it's the controller. The solder joints break. The remote is the oldest thing in my system. I thought about trying a new remote, but they are $300. I already have $300 in harnesses that I didn't need.

  • @christhomas9837
    @christhomas9837 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mine is acting up right now too. I know when they start to act up it is the 2 small pins most of the time. They make the plow side wiring far too long and you have to coil it or zip tie it to the plow. A lot of guys pull the zip ties too tight and when it gets really cold the small wire snaps. I try to put the 2 plugs in my grill but then I'm bending the harness like crazy and I think this also causes breakage. There has to be a better solution. Also the wiring under the hood it feet to long and needs to be coiled. We've had wires break there too.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's the main ground. Try spreading the big plug prongs out to get better contact.

      You need to find a better dealer. Some of them are no good as with all companies. My dealer is great. I think part of this issue is my fault.
