Here's a way to do it manually. Select Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners or use the following button. Open the Printers & scanners settings. Select Add a printer or scanner. Wait for it to find nearby scanners, then choose the one you want to use, and select Add device.

I tried doing so, but when I saved the pages, they saved in my documents as separate PDF documents and was unable to combine them into one. Thanks.
Yes, you sure can. I believe at or around 3:11 in video, once the first page scanned is completed, don't click on Exit on prompt but click on Continue and scan your next page. This will combine both pages into one pdf document.

Go to Windows Start Menu and scroll down to "Canon Utilities" and using the "Canon U Scan Utility" you can scan as Photo, Document, OCR, Custom...etc and you will be able too.
Is there any way to press key on the printer itself to initiate a scan? I'd like to be able to be standing at the unit holding certain things down with my hands such that I can't reach the computer to operate the scan utility with my mouse/keyboard. I've looked but haven't seen any evidence that there is a function "scan manually" button that is a hidden feature of one of the buttons on the unit. (I kinda thought there WOULD be.)

I've seen this happen before and the reason it was not highlighted, was that the wrong printer driver or a older printer driver version was installed on the computer laptop. Try uninstalling the print driver through Apps and Features and then download and install the printer driver again (make sure it's the correct and latest full printer driver package for the MG2522).
My laptop does not have a CD ROM, and the canon app doesn't have an install download for my mg 2500 printer, how can I install my. Canon mg 2500 printer?

This printer can only scan one page at a time. No multi page function.

There is no manual scan button on printer. Scan function is only initiated through your PC.

No info on scanning to an Apple Mac. 5:12
It's not Apple Mac compatible. No WiFi functions.
To scan a document from my all-in-one printer, i use a free program called Irfanview. It works quite well too.!
