As a person who had gastric bypass, there is no excuse for lack of weight loss. The smallest amount of food made me feel overly stuffed and I actually dreaded eating. The surgery is pretty much full proof to lose weight but it ultimately comes down to the person. You actually have to put more effort into staying fat than to loose it, which is really sad.
I mean he doesn't have to make excuses, he's a grown man and at the end of the day it's his life. Whether or not he decides to improve himself is up to him really. And maybe he's content with the way he is.
