      I've seen orangepeanut call out several obese people. Will he call out anorexic people too like Eugena Cooney? Plenty of anorexic people on tixtok spreading Eating Disorders propaganda to young impressionable people. Let's see if he chooses to "call out" other things than just obesity. It will tell us all we need to know weather orangepeanut is someone who calls out everything or is just fixated and obsessed with obesity.

      i think body positivity is about accepting every part of yourself as long as your body is healthy. for example, bodies change naturally throughout life and people need to be accepting of their own bodies in that way. weight fluctuation is inevitable for most. but this woman... her body is in no way natural, and she's trying to convince herself that it's okay to be extremely obese to where she can't even use regular sized everyday items. it's very concerning, and gives the whole body positivity thing a bad wrap

    Absolutely. If you’re so big that you are in severe physical pain, then that is unhealthy. That doesn’t mean you’re a little chubby, that means you’re morbidly obese, and it’s pure denial if you’re pretending like this is normal and/or it isn’t your fault for being in this situation. It is in your hands to improve upon yourself in this situation, no one else’s.

    While I agree weight loss is the ultimate best thing, it also isn’t very easy to do. Food addiction & binge eating is a real problem and it’s being normalised more and more by HAES & the fat acceptance movement.
    My past may not be unique, but my trauma and abuse pushed me towards eating. I am well aware that I need to take responsibility for that, but it’s something that takes support of the people around you and a sheer amount of discipline. There are also people that are going to be unattractive to most people. No matter how much people want to deny it, obesity is not attractive to most people because we are literally designed to find unhealthy lifestyles repulsive.

    As a person who used to be slightly chubby as a kid, I remember the importance of seeing myself as an unfit person. It pushed me to be better everyday once I noticed that it became a problem. People such as Mary remind me of what I could become if I lose motivation and a will to be better, and that’s why I never give up. Turning body positivity into fat acceptance is wrong, there is a divine line between the two.

    • @carlw5360
      @carlw5360 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Omg I relate sooo much. When I was a kid I wasn't bullied about being chubby thankfully, but I noticed I was a lot less fit than others and I would get really insecure when I was picked to be it for man tracker and I hated PE. Now as a teen I've gotten a lot skinnier and more fit. I run and skip rope to improve my endurance everyday.

    About ten years ago, I was up to 370 lbs. Some of it can be attributed to genetics and chronic fatigue, but I was an emotional eater and that's the main reason I got so big. So peanut is correct, about 90% of my weight gain was my fault. I had weight loss surgery about five years ago and lost 200 lbs, but I have since regained about 60 and that is 100% my fault.

      It’s a tough journey, a tough battle with yourself, and taking responsibility is 100% the right step. Peanut and us anti-fat positivity are not hating on people like you, or fat people in general. It’s the message, and the accusation of fatphobia when we encourage weight loss on those we love, because we want them to be active and not in pain, all for love. So, if youre still working hard to be in shape, it means you love yourself enough to not inconvenience yourself with walls of fat. More power to you, bro
