  • This video gives a thorough explanation and demonstration of how to use a multimeter to diagnose a faulty contactor. How to check from the magnetic coil to the auxiliary wind to know the particular part of the contactor that might be faulty. The video also explains the values of ohm reading that should be expected from a good and a bad coil. as well as for bad and good contacts.

    Please can you come with a tutorial on thermal overload relay, where you talk about the part, it uses and application.

    Thanks for the lecture, but pls, what is the use of the auxillary contacts?

      Hi Seth. Please the auxiliary contacts are basically used for the control wiring and interlocking.

      @@obloni_Electrical thank you sir, but I think it will be necessary to have a lecture on that, may be treat it like a topic. Because, what I know about the auxillary contacts are just for indication lights

      @@ahiagbleseth9500 Oh okay. Yes, that's true. it's also used for indicator lights so you can use the auxiliary contacts for all those things, depending on how you want your circuit to function And thanks for the suggestion. I will consider that.

      @@obloni_Electrical wow! I really love your explanation to the video. God bless you. I have a zero knowledge on contactors. But this helped me a lot.

      Please try have a video on how to use the auxillary contact for:
      1. Indicators (start, stop trip, running)
      2. Self holding circuit or hatching circuit
      3. Interlocking circuit
      Thanks

    How do you know how many ohms the coil should be? I’ve had scenarios where the coil is Reading 20 ohms and not pulling in the contractor and a new coil reads 500 ohms. Without reading OL or 0, could it still be shorted?

    • @obloni_Electrical
      @obloni_Electrical  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@damion1121 OL means there may be an open circuit.
      0 means shortcircuit
      Resistance of two coils may not necessarily be the same.

      @@obloni_Electrical so two coils for the same starter could read different resistances? I am trying to understand the how it’s calculated, having different resistances would increase/decrease the amps which would make the magnetic field weaker/stronger. Are they calculated within a certain range? I may just be over thinking it here. I do greatly appreciate the reply!
