No man can make laws. After Christ all nonScriprural governments are illegitimate. The congregation of Christ was meant judge the lawbreakers and to execute the Law of God. The common law was close but it was replaced by statue/civil law

You are close to faith in Christ, I trust you will take that next step. You carefully stated your thoughts about government overreach and people looking to that authority to regulate others. Too many people think their loyalty will buy them security. It is sad to see so many carrying out policies that will ultimately remove their freedoms as well. This country is not far from being completely removed from the protections in the Constitution.

America was founded as a Christian nation based on Christian ethics. I regularly debate people on why a harm principle moral framework is opposed to Christian ethics. If you would like to talk about it, I would be happy to engage with you. Have a blessed day.

“Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise”.
From James Madison. I'm sure I don't need to explain is role in the Constitution. And surely Thomas Jefferson feelings about Christianity might sway you from this belief. Dude. The same basic values are in practically all the major religions. Those aren't the only founding fathers that felt this way. Benjamin Franklin. And on and on.

@@Mightycaptain"The belief in a God all powerful wise and good is so essential to the moral order of the world and to the happiness of man, that arguments which enforce it cannot be drawn from too many sources nor adapted with too much solicitude to the different characters and capacities impressed with it." -James Madison
"And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep for ever...the doctrines of Jesus are simple and tend all to the happiness of mankind." -Thomas Jefferson
I could go on. Read the federalist papers and count how many times God is referenced. The founders warned about the church becoming the state, instead they wanted the state to adhere to the ethics of the church.

      @Mightycaptain 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@@mikevee9145 I believe those quotes do not belong to those men. What you are talking about I’ve seen referenced before as anti federalists. But we must have had different history teachers. But to be clear the 1st amendment takes the state out of picking an official religion. Funny thing that. If they truly wanted it to be a Christian country. They could have right then. But didn’t. So… all further arguments about this being a Christian nation are speculative at best.

    • @mikevee9145

@@Mightycaptain It's not required you believe the quotes in order for them to be true. My history teacher are the letters and works of the men themselves. I don't debate in the YT comment section, only in person, but you clearly aren't familiar with what the founders believed, or their actual words. Also, I know the country doesn't have an official religion, but it had at its founding a moral standard based in Chrisian ethics. The secular, "live and let live", or harm principal way of thinking is precisely what is destroying this country.

    • @Mightycaptain

@@mikevee9145 freedom for me and not for thee is what is messing up this country. That statement makes it seem you want it your way. And any other way is wrong. Immorral. Or whatever. When the basic principle of freedom and liberty that I was taught is you can have it until the point it denys others their liberty and freedom. Anyone trying to force people to live by their religious ideal is exactly that. Attempting to deny others their freedom and liberty to live the way they want. When the exercise of their liberty and freedom denies you nothing. When it does then they are wrong too. You practice the way you want and don't attempt to take from others the way they choose to live. And they should do the same. Live and don't deny your right to live the way you want. That is the way I was taught. Religion doesn't own basic morals. They existed in cultures that never had that religion. The same basic ones.

God ''feeds the sparrows'' and all of his creation and he feeds you, he also gave all of his creation a means to self defense. Self defense is self explanatory except when you are arguing against people who believe in totalitarianism. If you are arguing people that call themselves Christian and they are arguing against self defense, you are not arguing against sane people or people that actually believe in God, so don't waste your time with them. I see both sides constantly trying to sic the Law on people. constantly trying to hald freedom in the name of their own morals. You have Christian values? Good!! But if those values are used as the driving belief to validate a new law to prevent someone from doing something [no matter how disgusting you think that thing is] then thats not in-line with our Constitution.

@@timberfallingcouple ... I don't have religious beliefs, i see the world thru a spiritual perspective, something you are apparently in need of? I am a supporter of our constitutional rights, but our constitution is meant for moral and spiritual people. It will not exist without it. You're trying to have the egg without the chicken and it won't work that way. Religion is government. The Bible is your connection to your soul and reality. The world is satan. That is what used to be tought in American churches. That is what wrote the constitution you love. That is the spiritual understanding that created 'America' well before the revolution. I have a carry permit and will carry when I feel it necessary to protect the innocent against darkness. I will even defend myself because my grandchildren don’t want to lose their grandfather.
Cesar is coming whether you like it or not. Keep reading the next few chapters. We are getting very close to Rev 6 now.
Also, the main thing Jesus has against His church has to do with their not walking closely with Him and not walking in agape love. They are practicing idolatry and harlotry, etc., they’re loving life more than the giver of it.
I completely agree that we are not the judge. We are not called to take away other’s freedoms as long as they are not harming anyone else. I will exercise my liberties as a free person and expect you to as well.

      Luke 10:29-37
But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
the common interpretation of this is that you should be neighbor to all, show compassion to all, but I read it differently. Jesus asks who is neighbor to the on felled among thieves, 2 of the 3 are not his neighbor. His neighbor, the one he should love and trust and defend is the good Samaritan, the one that helped him in his time of need. Those that would give everything for you are the ones you should be willing to give everything for. Sadly, my physical neighbors are not my neighbors in this sense.
