Come thrifting with me at some of my favorite consignment and thrift stores in the Hudson Valley! I found the perfect boho quilt for a little bedroom makeover here at the cottage.
And while my fun little thrift haul makes me SO happy, the amazing colors in my garden are just my greatest delight these days. The bee balm is absolutely bursting out of the garden and I've been using it to make some delicious infused water.
It's also my anniversary! I've been posting videos here on TH-cam for 2 years! It's so hard to believe that much time has gone by. I've found such a lovely, lovely community of women all over the world here who love all things boho, thrifting, and gratitude : ) It makes my heart SO happy.

I would have said to that unkind woman "if I can't find a man to love me for ME and not my looks, I'd rather stay single" then get up and walk away! Maybe you don’t have to change to find a man…. Maybe the men you meet need to change….and not their weight? Did you ever think that you don’t “NEED” just any man but would enjoy a man with same interests & qualities as you? It just might surprise you to met that special person while doing something you enjoy. Eating or having coffee at your favorite place? At the dog park when you both are enjoying watching your dogs playing? At the antique store while you are browsing? Etc….just go out there & enjoy life & it will happen. Don’t be afraid to speak to people or break the ice by asking a question. Your puppy could be your biggest guy magnet! You are very a very special lady…… so be choosy…..you are worth it!

When my daughter was about age 11, an acquaintance told her to stay thin always and not "let herself go" like I, her mother had. I'm 5'10", size 18. About 20 lbs overweight. But even if I was 500 lbs...pure rudeness. Grr 😡 some people are just unfiltered idiots!

Same here, I was a teenager of the 70s, my most favorite era, and this lovely lady takes me back to those days. My best friend back then was a lot like her and had a little dog too. I loved visiting her and we'd just hang around together all day.

I am so grateful to have found ur videos recently. Ive been binging on them. U have such a beautiful soul and are so creative. Ur photography is amazing and is a feast for my eyes. The fact that u were able to share the memory of the lady who had such negative advice shows growth. U are absolutely beautiful inside and out. At almost 88 yrs old, Ive learned that I dont care what others think of me, as long as I know who I am and God loves me? .❤ Other than hot beverages, I drink everything else at room temperature. Never use ice. U are so blessed to live in such a beautiful place and experience the magic of nature.
I lived yards away from the Delaware River in Chester, Pa. and never realized that it ran as far as Hudson Valley. Ĥudson Valley looks like Paradise to me and a wonderful place to call home for now. Each video I watch, I feel like Im visiting a friend and Im left with such a sense of peace and serenity and beauty. I love ur Charlie! I rescued a 4 yr old chihuahua mix, who was unsocialized and very neglected as she lived in the backyard since a puppy with a 150# Russian Lion dog. Need I say more? Her name is Lola, she's been with me for 4-1/2 years now, and she's still a work in progress. She makes my heart smile, tho.😍 I, too, love thrifting, boho and vintage, dresses, hats, and makeup.💕 Ur dresses are so romantic and feminine and fit in perfectly with ur landscape photos. Hold onto all your videos forever. They are definitely keepsake memories and such treasures. Oh, how I would love to live in ur Boho cottage❤ ciao for now.

We come in all different shapes and sizes and relationships form from love. Don’t change unless you want to. You are beautiful just the way you are and someone will eventually see you and come into your life loving you as you! I had to learn that later in life. Like the sky above, it is beautiful whether storm, snow, sunshine or sunset. We are like the sky❤️
Bee Balm is my favorite too. I have magenta in the back by our sunroom windows and I too love watching the bumble bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

My sister and I were going through a hard time together just a month ago. We both love to paint with water colors, so we decided to take our paints and head for a peaceful place as an escape from it all. We ended up at Mills Mansion just a bench or two away from where you sat! I will treasure the memory! BTW, watch out for little old busybody ladies who have no filter! You are gorgeous!

Thank you for this wonderful video, so full of color,of some marvelous and precious humor (loved that very quick scene of the adorable silliness occurring in the first thrift store that you visited) - I love that! And your gorgeous ruby pink and lavender garden and all the bouquets in your happy home, and the nervy older lady on the bench who was obviously to me, “ Miss Inappropriate” to most everyone. You have bouquets everywhere, and the new fabric bouquet was so charming too! Might I just add that when people are hurtful, they are hurting themselves and need to feel better by finding a target. I’m not excusing that little lady’s words, but it has helped me to shed my own little moments when I’ve been in similar situations. Knowing that their comments have nothing to do with me has truly helped me to wonder, to be curious about what their suffering is, thus taking it off of me, and letting it go quickly. Comfort. Calm. Nostalgia. Those are the words that describe your channel. In this video, especially, do those words fit. What a swirl of homesickness I felt, as I watched your lovely video. I miss the East Coast. I miss the quaint, delicate, beautiful nature the East gives. My heart belongs there. Watching you walk the sweet streets and shopping in the beautiful little stores, I got to missing home. Thank you for sharing the special vibe that the East Coast emits. I felt a little closer to home. Thank you for that. Now, here is something for you. You are always sharing your heart with the world, now, it is time for us to give back to you. The way to do that, is to write encouraging things, to show you how much we care. I read some of your comments, and, it seems everyone is loving you and your channel as I am. There are some of us who have watched every one of your videos starting from your first one, and, in doing that we have all seen you evolve. You have grown strong, more sure, more confident, and from that, you are a more wonderful version from two years ago. Your story about the woman on the bench was incredible. The way you told it, you had courage with a little humor stuck in. I bet, you could not have told that story with such dignity and a smile, years ago. But now, you can. That is growth. You should feel proud of that. I know that woman hurt you, and, that is sad, as, it is not true. Nobody has to look a certain way to get their soulmate. They just have to be who they are meant to be, and that will be enough. A kindred spirit will be found. Kindness, compassion, interests, those are what bind us together. If we relied solely on looks, wow would I be in trouble. I am as tall as a ten year old and as knobby kneed as any elementery school girl. I have giant glasses and dress in comfy, out of date clothes, but, here I am, married for thirty one years and with four children. My beautiful husband chose me, 4 foot ten, gawky, half blind, but, with a giant heart, kindness that won’t beat, a love of life, nature, learning. That is what matters. So, you go be you, and love will find you, I have no doubt.

I LOVE your channel, not just your style, but the calm and honest way you speak and share your stories. Your smile is pure magic and you have those smiling eyes that are so uplifting to others! It's so refreshing to hear someone acknowledging their challenges but always finding something to be positive about and never actually complaining or obsessing about problems. I tend to drink room temp water, but summer afternoons I love to make sun tea or homemade organic lemonade with a touch of local honey and some lemon balm and mint leaves from my garden... chilled in the fridge. So refreshing and Yum!

Hello Sweetie, I've been with you since the beginning & after a little bit I was so happy to subscribe. I loved your making a home in your prior cabin and loving your new fur baby ❤. As a woman in my 70s now alone in my tiny cottage with my fur baby I felt for you going through health challenges but you persevered, took care of yourself & continued to give and love others. You've bought joy, beauty & encouragement to me through my physical challenges. I know you're an inspiration to many. I'm here in the smoky mountains & love watching you there in the Hudson valley and how you make the best of things. Where others make lemonade out of lemons you make lemon merengue pie. I'm sorry a woman said such things to you though she had good intentions did not realize the harm of her words from the world she came from. She doesn't know what she doesn't know. There's a wonderful journey ahead for you. My faith has sustained me by grace I believe. I wish I had confidence in myself you have when I was young & not settling for the relationships I did. Marriage is supposed to be for the rest of our lives not just finding a husband.

I love that green barn that you passed! Thank you for the two years of beauty, peace, and inspiration. I've been really trying to work on my self-esteem with excess weight. Just last week I wrote down everything that has affected or is affected by my weight. I plan on releasing it/burning it on the full moon. I noticed 2/3 of the issues were comments by people. When I had it compiled, it made me feel like the issue was with them, more than me. It just read mean and judgemental. My current husband loves me as is and only says loving things to me, shoot - he brings me warm homemade chocolate chip cookies and a big glass of milk. It's just getting the right fit with a partner. I'm blessed and I'm so glad I didn't partner with someone who made me feel bad about myself. Lots of different types of beauty, and you are definitely beautiful! On a different note, I wouldn't have thought to take the flower of the bee balm and put it in water (ice cold water preferably). I also had no clue how tall it grows. Thank you!
