Also, it's important to point out that the intercepting missle (in this case the Patriot) doesn't have to be faster moving than the incoming missle (in this case the Khinzal). Don't think of it as a drag race. The intercepting missle is launched from an area that is (in most cases) much closer to the incoming missle's target. Think of it as a head on smash. The intercepting missle is coming at the Khinzal.... not chasing after it.

A system is not an all-in battery, there are some misconceptions, often duplicated by media and news streaming. Those 2 new German systems are not independent patriot batteries but additions to existing ones. So, Ukraïne still does have 2 patriot batteries, with newer additions like extra launchers. Early 2024, Germany might send 2 extra Iris-T batteries, so independent all-in defense units. Besides this, inflicted damage to patriot batteries does not mean the entire network has been struck. It was likely for 1 launcher to be hit by russian kinzals. However, not all launchers or other elements of the battery were damaged.

Kinzhal isn't that fancy. Its an air launched ballistic missile. It flies in a predictable path. The only thing going for it is it's speed and even then it's not going that fast near impact. Computing power is how you defeat it which the patriot system has.
