Hey, American viewer over here. Awesome work, simple design, I'll try to make a couple myself.

Nice. But scares me a little to see you pushing that walnut through the table saw with the riving knife removed and no push sticks.

Riving knives are a good thing for novice and inexperienced wood workers. Been woodworking for over 30 years and I have never had a riving knife on any of my cabinet saws.

It looks like the table saw is SawStop brand.

He's got a SawStop that will keep him from cutting his fingers off if they get pulled in, but to your point, it doesn't protect against kickbacks w/o the riving knife. *THAT SAID* he's a clear professional, whose skills and experience allow him to see and feel things happening that allow him to back out of a cut if need be. My guess, he makes a lot of groove/dado cuts, in which you can't use a riving knife, and doesn't want to fiddle with removing/reinstalling over and over. It's a calculated and knowledgeable risk; a risk that is greatly mitigated by said knowledge and skill. Business, is all about calculating risk and making informed decisions. Most cabinet/furniture shops you go in to, will see the same trade-offs, and probably far sketchier trade offs that would melt your mind.
