I would've gone with the Ibanez headless in the 5-string multi-scale! Love the "Tom Sawyer" play out at the end! That's a fine way to play your way into a fella's heart!😉😻😉😻
I bought two Ibanez basses this year, an EHB 16505 for me and a Mikro for my daughter who just started learning to play. Both sound great and play amazingly!
My choices are the Squier and the Stingray-4. Undoubtedly the Stingray is much more tone versatile, but the sound and curb appeal of that particular Squire is my first preference. I too would enjoy seeing Julia’s full bass collection and hearing the history of her bass journey. Be well.
I think the spectors take the number 1 spot for me! They look and sound great, I prefer them even over the stingrays which a lot of people simply adore. If I were to buy a bass (I won't since I already have one) then I would probably buy a spector, they are beautiful

i bought the Spector Legend Classic 4 CG/WB in December 2019 but it arrived after 8-10 weeks later in Feburary 2020, worth the time waiting for it. its absolutely awesome
i bought a squier paranormal jazz bass in blonde butterscotch (i named it Blondie) and its a DREAM to play, it has that classic j bass growl to it and with faltwounds it's even better! I can see myself going to hundreds of gigs with it and it'll still play brand new! I will take it (and a rickenbacker 4003 in ruby red when i get one) to the grave, it's my most prized possession!
I just bought the Ray24CA, these are nice basses too. It's my 2nd bass. Later I'll be interested in a fretless. Hopefully Julia will do a video on fretless basses unless she has already done one.
I would pick the Stingray! This year I bought a magnificent Epiphone Jack Casady in metallic gold (fantastic instrument) and a very well sounding Squier Classic Vibe 60s jazz bass in Daphne Blue (it's a very good instrument, with a warm and definite sound). Keep up the good work Julia! ❤️

That spector sound fantastic, that's what I'd choose right now. Currently rocking my Fender Jag which I'm pretty happy with to be honest. So not looking for a new one at the moment.

I didn't buy any new basses this year, but instead went the DIY route and built one myself. PJ in Telebody with Tele headstock. Just need to shim the neck still to get it playable. If I were to buy a new bass at the moment though I'd really be looking at a headless one.
my favorite is the one i was gifted in april: the harley benton RBK414 in left-handed mode. great bass, sounds gritty, dirty, and oddly enough, can be very smooth.
I got a new-to-me bass, but I have been wanting one of these for years and I love everything about it. It is a white Epiphone SG EB-3 from around the early to mid 2000's (I think).
I have a ESP D-6 Six-string, but it's too heavy now that I have a neck disc condition. I needed something lighter, so I just bought a Steinberger Spirit XT-25 Bass. It should arrive this week. Keep on rocking!
Great video. If price were not an option, the Spector and Musicman would be my top choices. No new basses purchased this year, but I'm building one that will hopefully be done by February.
Well I bought the Sterling Ray34HH and I can’t get my hands off that bass, the only thing I didn’t like: factory tuners. Exchanged them to Hipshot Ultralites, booom, perfect bass with outstanding range of tones 🔥🔥🔥
