The fact that Fisk’s anger and tantrums were childlike in nature made him a very unpredictable villain. You never knew when he was going to snap. And when he did snap, it was terrifying.

Breaks my heart that Charlie had a bad screening for reactions to his appearance in NWH. Opening night in my theater people were so ecstatic to see him again that I had to go see the movie again just to hear his lines, the cheering completely drowned him out the first time lol
NWH was the reason that I ever watched Daredevil. I needed to see what all the ruckus was about. So glad I did. DD is fantastic. I’ve watched all 3 seasons 3x
Same i was so shocked. I feel like it must be only that theatre lol because like mine.. everyone cheered or was definitely excited. I heard the gasps and hands 😄

Daredevil… in my opinion… is probably the best writing Marvel has put out across all platforms. It’s grounded, raw, emotional, and keeps you wanting more. I’ll admit season 2 was a little messy - I thought they tried to do too much (but I love the introduction of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher) - but season 3 was much more focused.
Each season’s hallway fight is just amazing.

I’m a diehard marvel fan and I love 90% of the mcu but we need more Matt Murdock more then any other characters, one of the best tv shows and can’t wait to see more of him in the future!
We definitely need more of him. As someone with vision impairment I think it's really really cool to have a blind superhero. Matt Murdock is an amazing inspirational character and I hope they have more plans to use him in the future :)

@@900bz a real fan would notice flaws within the movies they like and be able to criticize it with honesty and hope that it would be better next time. It also means they have taste and standards.
Ever since Daredevil came out with the hallway shot, others have tried to do it but they can't invoke the same power of the original. It's one of my top 3 favorite scenes from the entire series.
Season 1 of Daredevil really did a lot of future MCU foreshadowing honestly
Fun fact: The truck carrying the chemicals that blinded Daredevil was also carrying a certain ooze-like waste that rolled into a nearby sewer drain, covering 4 turtles and a rat. (Not actually Marvel cannon)

Matt would lose his mind if he knew that the same chemical made anthromorphic turtles
That would be insane
considering what's down inside a NYC slum's sewer drains, it would not surprise me if the ooze ended up turning into a symbiote.

Yea I noticed matt only takes his glasses off when he’s talking deep with someone. When he told Karen in episode 1 that he would give anything to have his sight back he took them off. In another scene he’s talking to foggy with them off and Karen walks in so he quickly puts them back on.
Matt also mentioned “micro-changes in air density”, the same thing that Ash said the motion detectors in Alien used to find the xenomorph.
The Multiverse is a concept we know frightingly little about.
The people behind this were masters for this whole season. The symbolism, writing and everything was the best thing to happen to marvel. Thanks for taking the time to break this down.

Honestly, the stunt coordinator for Punisher that was on Corridor Crew is s legend, the fight scenes are so incredibly planned and shot for both shows
Also i wonder if Disney will buy ninja Turtles now haha, since their origin story is the what if scenario of the ooze going into the sewer instead of blinding daredevil
Just started rewatching all of daredevil after hearing the news about possibly season 4 beginning production this year. Love the series.
That hallway fight scene is classic. I was completely astounded when I first saw it.
When he showed up in no way home, I was just shocked. Like a little grunt of surprise came out. When he caught the brick is when my theater started cheering

It also makes sense how Matt can get such a good apartment despite being not that wealthy, if huge buildboards and lights shine through his massive windows, it would be unpleasant at night to everyone, but it wouldn't to the blind (The blind who can't see anything at all obviously. there are many differing types.)

Yeah! Like how a lot of shows have people living in apartments that they would never be able to afford, so this series has a legitimate reason for Matt having such a great apartment.
I mean he is also a lawyer perhaps a struggling one but he still does make bank anyways

Funny little thing I noticed rewatching these with a friend, every Netflix MCU hero ends up in trash at some point (Matt in the dumpster, Jessica in trash bags on the street, Luke in the dump truck, and Danny being thrown into a trash can). I don't know what it means but I love them.

I've rewatched it countless times and it gave me chills each time!
Some of my most watched tv has been this daredevil series, such great storytelling and intricate action sequences, can’t wait for more Charlie in the McU

The one-take scenes didn’t have secret cuts, at least that’s what Charlie Cox said in an interview. It was all done in one shot and the reason they had those pans to block the action for a second or two, was the swap out/in Charlie’s stunt actor
Yes, season one hallway fight and season 3 prison fight/escape are really one-shot. Season 2 stairwell isn't.
The costume is inspired by the first live action Daredevil costume (from The Trial of the Incredible Hulk), which was THEN adapted into comics.

In these hallway fights, oftentimes this series does amazing long takes to depict the pure viscerality of these battles

that "spin kick move" is an actual martial arts technique called the Kyokushin Wheel Kick, aka the rolling thunder :^).
there are compilations of this move being used in professional mma matches and it knocking people out cold

I always thought that Wilson Fisk's plan was to treat Hell's Kitchen like an addict that doesn't realize it has a problem. He's trying to accelerate its downfall, guiding it to rock bottom so it can see that it has a problem and will want to save itself.

Personally I dont think so, yeah the shows reference the movies, but the movies never reference the shows, marvel let them do whatever they wanted in those shows, them showing daredevil and kingpin in the mcu isnt really a reference to the shows they're just there
@@bruhmoment1031 that was due to a rights issue, I don’t know it that much in detail and a more simple reason is that these shows are very street level, the avengers would not notice these.

Daredevil was awesome, I kinda burnt out a bit after Season 2 and Iron Fist, but seeing as the shows have made their way back to Marvel, I think I'll revisit the TV shows and finish all of them :)

I have been waiting for your take for so long.
Daredevil is so much more mature, layered and visceral than the Disney MCU films/series -I don't know if it can make the transition and still be as engrossing....fingers are crossed.
Fun fact: when daredevil is first seen in his daredevil costume the lights around make it look yellow like his costume he first wore in the comics
6:45 didn't the director say it was a true oner? the only false oner from the Daredevil franchise is the season 2 one as it uses CGI to connect shots iirc
Do we know that Stick kept Matt's friendship bracelet? Matt finds it in the wreckage of his apartment after the fight, but we don't know Stick dropped it. Matt could have picked it up and kept it after Stick rejected it.

Daredevil is honestly the best. And when they introduced John Bernthals punisher it was a wrap. Well never get a better version of either character
theres probably no hidden cut on the pan over the fallen door. the camera is actually hanging by a crane through the ceiling of the hallway set, there is some CGI work to patch the ceiling hole. The CGI can be seen.
I noticed the way fisk looks at Rabbit in a Snowstorm, it reminds him of his childhood and bedroom wall. Later the prison wall.

If you think about it , daredevil return in Hawkeye is being inevitable if kingpin's alive💯🤝
I mean that's why I don't think most of the events of the shows happened, Kingpin being out of prison directly violates their rules and it seems like he's been out for years. The only way this would work is if Matt got blipped and has just been too busy in the months since he came back to do the ONE THING HE PROMISED HE WOULD DO, so it really can't be that.
I want season 4, no reboot, no soft reboot but a continuation.

I think that's what it may be, especially since it's been nearly 7 or so years timeline-wise from the end of DD Season 3 to 'now' post-blip and on. So like Charlie Cox said, it's unnecessary to start off exactly where Season 3 ended.
