    rotella oil is oil for long running engines (coast to coast trucks boatmotors that get started at the start of day and only stopped late at night ) with a lot of running time between oilchanges

    Questions: When you changed the Transmission filter do you fill the new filter and make sure to lube the gasket on it. How much Transmission fluid is lost when changing it? Maybe check test run after filter changes to make sure there are no leaks. Then top off the fluids lost. One mistake I have done is not paying attention when taking old filters off to make sure the old gasket doesn't stick to housing. Then putting on new filter and new gasket I ended up with 2 gaskets on there and it leaked a ton as soon as I started engine. What a mess too. GREAT VIDEO YALL !!!

      We did not pre-fill the transmission filter, we did lube the gasket and inspect the filter housing. Only reason being we did not have the proper fluid to top off this unit. Since his fluid looked amazing at first glance, the tranny wasn’t high on the priority list. You have to drive the bus and check fluid while warm for the most accurate reading, we chose to to let Casey do this on his way home since he also needed to stop and buy fluid.
      Upon test drive, the transmission felt great. Stopped shifting hard, this bus ran much better after changing all these filters. Casey as well as myself could hear and feel the differences preventative maintenance will do. Thanks for watching bud! I ruined a water pump recently by forgetting the original gasket 😭

    Great video. Unfortunately many bus owners neglect maintenance.
    One little thing, the block heater heats the coolant in most engines, not the air.

    Great video bud, thank you!
    Lol man I wish I learned that on my driver's side wheels it was righty loosy before I tried taking off the wheel to change my calipers. I ended up stripping a nut/bolt pretty bad and had to grind it off. Learned that the hard way... I have a 1993 international 3800, I sourced new bolts and nuts for my front drivers side wheel but I've been struggling getting the original bolt off the hubs. They are most likely still the originals and are pretty tight in there. Any advice?

    • @parishskoolie
      @parishskoolie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      YES! I'm so happy I learned this the easy way not the hard way.
      FIRST, heat & lubricate.
      Second, shock the stud with a hammer. Shouldn't have to worry about protecting the threads since ya already broke it!
      Third, heat it some more & lubricate lol
      I prefer marvel mystery oil in a spray bottle. Penetrate & WD-40 work well too.
      Here's the trick, hopefully it works for ya. Get two more lugs or bolts.
      Get the first down as low as you can go, thread the second onto to the first. Hold backup on #2 while turning #1 loose. They should lock together
      then you left go of #2 and try to loosen #1 all the way off. This should break the stud free, much easier said than done.
      If this strategy fails, just remember, it can't be stuck if its liquid ;)

    Hey there..good video and vibes. Have you dealt with an FE that needed the AC head gasket replaced?

    • @parishskoolie
      @parishskoolie  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure I understand your question, air conditioning or a head gasket failure on the Motor?
      Either way I have never done major repairs to a FE bus but have diagnosed bad head gaskets on em.

    How do you add the oil to the rear hub?

    • @parishskoolie
      @parishskoolie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Add oil to the rear end, which has hollow tubes that run to either side of the hubs. The rear hubs do not have caps that pop off in order to add like the front does.

    Where do you recommend for lifting up the bus

    • @parishskoolie
      @parishskoolie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I lifted this bus from the center of the rear end with a bottle Jack. I picked my bus up previously on the frame, DO NOT pick it up on the shafts of the rear end. These are hollow and will bend. If you have a flat nose your frame will be closer to the ground so that would be my suggestion.
