Shout out to JST FRNDS for letting me use our session in the video. Their single "Zip Codes" comes out this friday. Links to them and more in the description.

Thank you for checking out the Lakeside, Andrew! You did a great job of showing exactly what it is all about. You gotta check it out with the 1973 too. Something special going on when you use those two together. Like for that female vocal, turn up the HPF past where you think you should and have her get close to the mic grill = MAGIC! Thank you!!!!

This thing is ridiculously detailed, has its own tone signature & seems to have more gain then spec'd . Weighs a ton

Does it use discrete opamps? Is it a Quad Eight style design?

The Lakeside preamp is fully discrete and transformer-balanced, but it doesn’t use discrete opamps like an API-style design. While it shares some qualities with Quad Eight-Class-A circuitry and a big, open sound-in typical Soyuz fashion, it takes its own unique approach rather than cloning any particular vintage circuit. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions! They're finally back in stock and on the way to many dealers.

I am proud of what Soyuz produces, but besides it, there is also a wonderful "Octava" company in my country, try their microphones.

Actually, Oktava is pretty popular in the states. Maybe even popular than in Russia (but I'm just speculating)
