I agree. No fantasy car tricks, no over the top villain, no woke socio-political narratives, and no absurd CGI. Just a story about racing, and the men who made the impossible happen on the track.
This and "rush" were great car movies since there was more than cars as characters. you saw human nature in action. and boy, any inventor who's fought against corporate mentality, you know the struggle in this movie.
Shelby spelled it out--in order to win, you need a car. and in order for someone to hand you their money wrapped up in the shape of a car...you can't be a royal PITA.
He was good yes but the best driver no. The film turned Ford’s 1966 attempt to win Le Mans into a 2 man show & it wasn’t. Early in the film Ken was watching the Ford guys test an engine then goes for a drive in a GT40 MKII. Who built that engine & car , not Ken, Kar Kraft did most of the heavy work . Yes Ken was a good development driver but so were Dan Gurney & Bruce McLaren. McLaren built the roadster that Ken was so lucky to win Sebring in 1966 in. In formula one at the time there was a guy called Jim Clark . Ken was nowhere near Jimmy , he was just an outstanding driver who won more Races/ per Starts in F1 than anyone else.He was a step up from both Bruce & Dan . He didn’t drive these car because he felt they were just too risky . He did win the Indy500. I saw him drive he was just magical when he was really going for it. He was killed in an extremely nasty accident in 1968. I think that was about that time that the Scot Jackie Stewart started a safety campaign. The film’s depiction of the finish & the laps leading up to it were just nonsense.
Best car movie in recent years. This is some good cinema!
Ricardo Terrazas nah. Rush is.
@@jarelllevingston7882 My thought exactly.
Probably because it is based on real people a real story so believable

@@UnknownUzer and no car going over a cliff with a zip line and slingshot across a canyon lol
A tremendous movie. Simply tremendous.
This movie was so good
Loved this movie and usually not a fan of car flicks. Love the knock-on Ford corporate types who almost go out of their way to fail. Great movie.

1:57 i think we had a scene like this in Steve jobs, didn't we ?
When Britain and the USA combine theres fireworks.
Not a team player so what, he was the best
hated in the corporate world admired by everyone else, the "not team players" who get things done

no I in team but there is in win, victory and survival.
Yeah..., But no Ken was nothing like the portrayal in this movie. Just like Leo Beebe was nothing like the character.
This is a crappy commercial.
Far too slick for such a simple elemental story.
HUGE FAIL
Hate! Hate! Hate! The ending
What do you not like about the ending?
