Ive noticed knocking in the plufs without any bolt inside most of the times knocks out the springs as their is no tension init.. I advise you screw the bolt in to the plug and then knock the bolt amd plugs in
So what size drill bit do you use? How much bigger than the Shield/case diameter? How much deeper than the length of the bolt do you drill. So many different sizes these days.
Take off the nut at the end, then knock the thread in gently until the anchor section of the bolt loosens from the surrounding brick. Then wiggle the anchor free until it comes out of the brick etc;
can use concrete bolts now,,,no plug needed ,,, just drill hole,,, with 8mm sds drill bit,,,then use 10 mm bolt, or whatever size you require ........and it taps its own thread as you drive it in,,,,,and can be taken out and reused in same hole,,,,,easy ,,and solid hold

Depends on what size rawl bolt use the same as the bolt size so 10mm drill for 10mm bolt etc
