Problem with this swing trainer is, if you hit balls with it, it will click at impact every time regardless of swing plane or release point. That's what Performance Golf told me when I went to them with the problem. The Straight Stick is only maybe useful for practice swings without a ball. That's not what I thought I was getting when I bought it. One of the selling points was "unlike most swing trainers, you can actually hit balls with it." Which is technically true. You can hit balls with it. You just won't get any of the helpful feedback the trainer is supposed to be providing with the click.
@@rasheedakins2277 exactly. Hitting a ball knocks the clicker down every time. So if even if you're early releasing the click will happen when you hit the ball. Theoretically having it adjusted to a perfect swing speed should avoid this, but this proved almost impossible. Even at the slowest swing speed adjustment the clicker didn't activate for me on practice swings. I had to add a thin plastic washer to tone down the magnetic force to get it clicking at all. And my swing speed measures well within the indicated markers.
I got it as a gift. I’m an 18. Using it indoors I could not get the magnet to move no matter. They refunded my money. Do love the grip though and will take it to the range when it gets warm again.
How did you get your money back? I can’t get it to click unless it hits the mat, then it clicks EVERY TIME even if I do the most exaggerated over the top swing!
Hi Zach I think you're right I went to the shop right this weekend and it seemed that all of the ladies had everything on the left side of the ball to a full finish will it help if I concentrate on releasing the llag pass the ball thanks for your help kindly advise Jack
I'm using senior shafts and deliberate intention to slow my swing in an effort to save my back and still be able to play golf. My target speed is about 75-80 MPH clubhead speed. Can the clicker be adjusted for a swing that slow?
All that theory is good, but the swing stick does nothing to help achieve it. How you are able to swing that thing and not make it click is a mystery to me, I swung it as over the top and from way inside as I could and it clicked every time, I must have the worlds best release because I can't make a bad swing with that club.
Mine didnt move either, even at the slowest swing speed adjustment. I inserted a thin fiberboard washer (slit the washer) between the magent and the clicker.
I bought one, I was not impressed. The problem is they charged my card another $399.00 one month later for a lifetime subscription I did not authorize. At the time of the sale I told their sales agent I am not interested in buying anything else. I was careful when I ordered from this company but they still pulled a fast one on me. I am still trying to dispute this charge.
I just received my Straight Stick 3-15-2024 and for the love of God, I can't get the magnetic ring to slide down to the bottom hosel. I must have a defective magnet / metal adapter. 🙄
Same problem. Inserted a slit, thin, fiberboard washer between the clicker and the magnet. Yes defective; shouldn't have to use a hack like that to get it to work. The impact of hitting a ball always releases the clicker, misleading to think it was a proper release.
USELESS device! Gave it at least 5 opportunities on the range only to realize a WASTE of time. However, credit to those on the advertisement video for great acting that fooled me to fall for it. CON 1: Can't get feel like a traditional club because almost weight of 2 clubs means limited practice because the weight gets you fatigued on backswings. CON 2: Click sound too quiet so usually don’t know if it clicks or not so it's difficult to gauge if swinging properly. If it does click the sound usually drowned out at impact. I set the mechanism at 70 mph, my swing speed, but it didn’t matter. CON 3: When can hear the click the results inconsistent. Some shots I slice but it clicked anyways? Some shots hit flush down the middle but no click? Makes no sense. CON 4: Yes, training video offers solutions for those with hook or slicing issues. But for us golfers who do BOTH equally - there is no advice in training video therefore useless!
Sorry, I have this Piece of junk I can it make click at any speed and angle. I can set at 100 mph and it still clicks even though I'm 64 and can't swing a club that fast anymore. As Far Straighter part of thier clams Complete BS
Sorry, the clicker is not the most amazing piece of tech on the straight stick, but it does allow you to hear where your peak speed is, when it’s working properly. Maybe you got a lemon and need to return it.
This device is a fraud!! I have one and you can make it click using any horrible swing! only good thing it does is train a beginner on how to hold the club correctly

Great point

Such a simple concept. Really enjoyed the video

It’s about where it clicks, like either by the ball or to before. If it clicks to early that means your releasing to early
Do you have a video for the opposite problem of coming too far from inside on the downswing? I used to come over the top & now I have taken it too far
They don't sell this as an attachment for any club?
I wrote them through the support portal on performance golf. BTW I still can’t get the magnet to move.

You have such a nice swing. It looks like your barely swinging it. How does that generate so much speed?
I have no idea

Can't see any link
Center face hits, not coming off the ball! All helpful-

Man sorry to hear that. Reach out to performance golf they should make it right.

The grip alone is worth the money....the click is hard to achieve at first when you have been swinging wrong for so long....put your pride aside
Great point!
Good instructor, a shame to see this blatant shill for a paid promotion
Agreed, all credibility lost.
Because he gets payed to say great things about it! These things are junk!!!
