Nice lesson. I don't know how you prefer going from E minor to dfsharp to G, instead of just playing Fsharpminor to G, I mean it's right there, up a half step plus the middle finger, but to each their own.

I'm no teacher or music guru. But I note a few people say this is written in D due to that drone D in the verse. I hear it in key of G. So, I play the D Drone over the melody but imagine, or hear in my head at least, that I'm playing a Gmaj7 with the index and middle lifting of the 2nd and third string (add 9 and susmaj4?). I wish I knew theory. Does anyone else hear it this way? Try it and put a bass note G in the verse on top of the normal D just to hear how it fits and you will never hear it the same again.
There’s a video on TH-cam called: Understanding: everybody wants to rule the world. It’s on a channel called 12tone. You should check that one out if you’re interested in why this song sounds “off key”
Do you palm the E and A during the verse where you're strumming the verse with a pick? I might try that, just to limit the damage while I'm trying to learn how to be exact. Also, that slide into the picking into . . . that sounds so good! I struggle so much with tone and volume on those but yours sounds so clear!
