      I liked the imagery of him fighting Rey, but how does Finn pick up a light saber and last even one second with a Sith when he apparently does not have the Force.

      @@powerboatguy2308 Are you for real right now? Like seriously? Your not making any sense at all. You don’t need to have the “force” to “last more than one second” against a force user at all, you dense fool. magmadroids don’t have the force and they last for long while against Jedi completely. Same thing with general grevious who doesn’t have the force at all. Your not making any sense as there’s been magmadroids that used their staff to fight against Jedi and last against them for a while, and Kylo ren was injured so that completely justifies why Finn lasted as long as he did against Kylo.

    I believe Kylo was holding back more with Rey then Finn. If you watch the fights it's super fast paced and quickly done, vs the one with Rey, slow, and simple strikes and blocks, I think Kylo was going full force on Finn, but letting him get up to re engage until he gets a hit off and then he finished him for the last time, and with Rey, I believe he was trying to capture her, she only really won in my opinion because she caught him off guard

    • @fortheempire1564

    Im not even sure that it was just his injuries that weakened Kylo in the fight. In the script of the film, it detailed how killing Han made him feel weaker in his Force power, rather than giving him a surge of strength in the Dark Side that would seal his connection to it. Then he was bent on taking Finn down up close and personal with his blade, not just using the Force on him and he was also bent on getting Rey to surrender and be his student in the ways of the Force, rather than just trying to kill her. Lastly, aside everything else that was mentioned, his costume doesn't seem suited for agile and fast movement, while Rey was far better at that than he was. However, the costume he uses in the next film appears to be far better suited for speed and agility in combat.

    • @slvrcobra1337
      @slvrcobra1337 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I gotta say, it's kind of ridiculous how they made him seem so powerful at the very start of the film that they needed to handicap him like 12 different ways to excuse a pathetic loss at the end.
      To me that's incredibly poor screenwriting; They could've at least had Rey fight him into a stalemate instead of nearly decapitating him.

      slvrcobra1337 She used his own skills though. That’s a how the beginning of a force bond works. She was using his own power against him when she started winning. Before that, he didn’t want to kill her.

      Julia Crawford - As stupid as that sounds, that's not the part that bothers me. On principle, your villain shouldn't be nearly murdered by a noob in his first movie.
      Like, she out fought him and almost _killed_ him, stopped only by a convenient, literal rift opening between them.

There is no "buT", you just don't know what you're saying at all here in ANY way. It's bafflingly pathetic that you believe anything other than your comment was "aWfUl" as NOTHING the fight was "awFUL" in ANY way as the fight was SPECTACULAR Wonderful to see and the CGI, Effects, and Settings were ALL phenomenal to see from how fantastic the movie was able to make Star Wars feel more real than ever. Nothing about the CGI was just “dEceNt” AT ALL as it was GROUNDBREAKING for Star Wars live action as the realistic lighting from the scenes brings the effects of the lightsabers and the environment brings the Star Wars films, especially the gorgeous and phenomenal looking beauty of the Force Awakens movie, more to life than ANY other film before and that makes the visuals and story better than ever. And that’s a FACT right there.

    I’m sorry but people are really overreacting about Rey beating Kylo Ren. I mean did you even watch it, she doesn’t even beat him she just gets the edge and then they are separated. Ren was shot with a bowcaster that sends stormtroopers flying, gets hit a few times from Finn before maiming him, is bleeding the entire time, and still doesn’t even lose to Rey who is skilled in melee combat. He just loses his advantage and gets barely slashed before they are separated. I don’t get what’s so hard to believe about it I mean did you expect her to just be killed right there?

    • @ChairyCrasher
      @ChairyCrasher 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      But Ren did force push Rey into a tree very hard and made her faint. Kylo could just do it again. A lightsaber and a staff are two different things.

    • @natedog8101
      @natedog8101 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Adrian SH And you aren’t wrong but you have to put this into the context of Star Wars, if you say that here you have to apply that to every duel in the movies, why didn’t Maul just push both Qui Gon and Obi wan down that big hole? Why didn’t Vader just force choke in every fight he was in? And sure a staff isn’t a lightsaber but shooting wamp rats isn’t the same as flying an x wing but nobody complained about that

    • @ChairyCrasher
      @ChairyCrasher 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Cyber Venom7 It is more difficult for a trained force user to push a trained force user with the force, because they can resist it. Shooting wamp rats is not the same as flying, but his friend said he had flying lessons and the t-16 skyhopper has similar layouts of an x-wing so luke was used to the controllers.

    • @ChairyCrasher
      @ChairyCrasher 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "T-16s are a lot like the snubfighters we're using."
      "I know, I looked one over. I'm sure I can handle it."
      ―Biggs Darklighter and Luke Skywalker, before the Battle of Yavin[src]
      The Incom Corporation T-16 Skyhopper was equipped with an ion drive[7] and a fully pressurized cockpit, allowing it to operate at trans-orbital altitudes.
      Civilian versions of the skyhopper were armed with pneumatic cannons, and were equipped with targeting lasers[7] though many law-enforcement agencies and planetary militaries throughout the galaxy utilized modified T-16s due to their overall good performance. However, because it was armed with only a single mounted repeating blaster, it was often overlooked by the military.
      Even so, these airspeeders were often used as training vehicles by the Rebel Alliance[8], due to the fact that their flight controls were similar to those of X-wings.
      You see the last sentence. T-16 was used as training vehicles by the rebel Alliance.

      Most of the sequel haters were children when the originals first aired, and they seem to be so nostalgic about them, that they can't accept or like any other SW movies.
      I'm not saying The Last Jedi, or any other SW movie out there, was perfect. I agree that there were flaws in each and every movie, but people are bitching WAY too much. And so were the Finn's and Rey's for that fight completely AS WELL as they all performed perfectly and beautifully for their rough weighty lightsaber combat completely that was GORGEOUS to see completely on screen which some people can’t appreciate at all on how phenomenal everything looked on screen! Perfectly acted and performed with perfect lightsaber combat that felt grippingly grounded and weighty to it all to bring Star Wars to life even more than ever! Love it all!

      @@audreyplaysnice2086 The choreography was poor in the throne room fight. The guards attacked one at a time, like lemmings and sometimes their strikes missed completely. There's even a moment where a guard's weapon conveniently just disappears, allowing Rey to kill him. Also, while the setting was ostentatious, I don't think it was as visually stunning as the forest fight.

    Nice to hear that the novelisation explains more about why the duel panned out the way it did and why Kylo was defeated seemingly without effort. When I saw TFA, I thought Rey defeating him was ridiculous, like Luke defeating Vader in ANH. Arguably though Kylo should still be more powerful and experienced given that he was trained by Luke.

    Let’s check off the ways Rey is a “Mary Sue”
    Training with a staff = proficient saber skills
    Years scavenging = mechanical proficiency
    Previous experience flying ships in atmosphere and exploring star destroyer wrecks = escapes TWO, count em, TWO tie fighters
    The force literally awakens = Does a Jedi mind trick, and a force pull, and people have a problem with this even though Anakin accidentally flew a fighter into an enemy station and accidentally blew it up and accidentally escaped. And Luke used the force to shoot a torpedo down a 90° angled 2 meter wide hole that runs miles into the center of a station...
    Look, the film isnt perfect, but people just love to bitch

    • @slvrcobra1337
      @slvrcobra1337 7 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      She's just too powerful to be a relatable protagonist. Yes, Anakin blew up a Federation ship and won a pod race, but aside from that he was just a whiny little kid who would've died or been stuck as a slave on Tatooine had it not been for Obi-Wan and Qui-gon.
      Luke was largely the same up until the end, and he still needed tons of backup from Rebel pilots who died in his place to take the shot.
      It's just bullshit that Rey could do everything by herself, and starts doing high-level force abilities out of nowhere. She instantly hits it off with everybody, even the villain, then she kicks the villain's ass. That's just boring dude.

    Why was Rey so powerful when she opened herself up to the force?
    I think this is because Anakin's force ghost was assisting her through the conduit of his own lightsaber crystal. I mean, she only started using her powers after she came into contact with the lightsaber. She used the force like a professional, this could've been Anakin just influencing her abilities. She even seemed to do things without being aware, she was surprised she could do this. I think Anakin's objective here is to bring a powerful force sensitive to Luke, he needs the help and persuasion.

Yeah, training can enhance your ability to wield a saber, but when it comes down to it it's still a STICK. I don't see why it's so implausible for Rey, someone with proficiency in melee combat, to be able to pick up a lightsaber and be able to hold her own against a wounded, angry, fearful young man.

      You're all so stupid lol.
      The answers is right there and yet you refuse to see it.
      Just because Rey was not trained by a JEDI MASTER doesn't mean she is ignorant in fighting or doesn't have any fight skills. In fact since the beginning of the movie it's shown that Rey knows how to fight since she was a lonely girl that had to take care of herself on her own.
      And plus: Kylo wasn't trying to kill her since he had orders from Snoke to bring her to him and he also was curious about her connection with the force after she resisted him in the interrogation scene. You can see this CLEARLY when they were with sabers crossed at the edge of the cliff and Kylo, instead of ending the fight, pauses and watches as she gather strength of the force.

    The fights in the OT, looking back, really have aged so much better. As will TFA and TLJ fights. The issue is not that the Jedi were in their prime and super skilled in the PT. The issue was it was over choreographed. You can do the prime Jedi fighting justice whilst still making the fight more realistic. In OT They felt like dudes with swords trying to kill each other. Yeah choreography was less fancy but the Luke/Vader fight in Empire was well done. Felt real.
    Also doesn’t help that the prequels gave us little narrative reason to care about the fights or even the characters for that matter. No narrative reason Quigon+obiwan vs Maul even needed to happen. Same with most of the fights in the prequels

    • @Gadget-Walkmen
      @Gadget-Walkmen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      LMAO Piss off with that. there are HUGE narrative reasons for why Anakin and Obiwan are fighting. And the same with obiwan fighting against Grevious as he stops him making the the clone wars would make an end. The same thing goes for palpatine vs the 4 jedi and such.
      There ARE reasons for why the characters are fighting in the prequels, you just fail MASSIVELY to pay attention to it.
