Thank you so much for these tutorials. I just bought this machine and I'm 100% watching videos to teach myself literally everything from machine how to, to sewing.
Thank you very much for the amazing tutorials! I cannot imagine better done instructions to get up to speed with a new sewing machine. Instructions are very concise, great video quality and Karen's presentation skills are top notch.
I have the Janome HD3000 and I love it. My only issue is the bobbin thread does not wind evenly. Whether I go slow or fast, it seems that the bobbin winds heavy on top and thin on bottom or vice-versa. Any suggestions? I have another Janome and it does not do that. Thank you. Great video and teaching skill!
Sometimes bobbin winders can be tricky. sounds like your tensioner needs to be adjusted. the screw on top of the bobbin winder tensioner can be rotated to move it up and down. if its winding too much on the top, use a phillips head screwdriver to tighten the screw (clockwise) and that will lower the tensioner. I would say try about half a turn to start and go from there.
Helpful...I'm slowly getting used to the self threading. I think I'd benefit from a slow-motion 3d animation because I had to stop and rewind probably around 23 times .😢😅
Have you ever had any problems with the HD3000's "Dual Motor System".....like needing more repairs than the HD1000, which apparently doesn't have the "Dual Motor System"? I'm helping a relative do some research to decide on the HD1000 or HD3000 and we found a reviewer who suggests that the "Dual Motor System" is a problem that will need repairs. All of the following text is an excerpt from the review (everything between the quotes): "The HD3000 is equipped with a DUAL MOTOR system which means that the machine has two motors: one for needle bar movement and another specifically designed to power the sewing hook. The motor for this model also comes in at slightly larger than the HD1000 Janome brand machine, making it faster when stitching large projects or through multiple layers of fabric. This Dual System design makes Janome HD 3000 considerably sturdier while providing superior speed control plus added convenience because you can change bobbins without stopping your work! With all these benefits, there are some downsides - dual systems are more complicated so they tend to have more problems down the line. If something goes wrong with either part of the dual system, you’ll need to send the entire machine in for repairs."
We can clarify that this is false. The HD-3000 only has one motor. We Have a repair shop and open up all sorts of machines, and in the domestic world, there are only a couple machines that use a secondary motor, and those machines are around the $10,000 mark. The biggest differences between the 1000 and the 3000 is the hook system. the 1000 is a front loading machine (Bobbin Goes in from the front) with a more traditional oscillating hook, while the 3000 uses a top loading (Bobbin goes in the top), full rotary hook. It's also called a non jamming hook. Overall the 3000 uses a much more user friendly hook system, and is a little larger. Both machines actually have the same motor in them. Hope this Helps!
@@MontavillaSewing I agree that the 3000 is the way to go. Apparently the review we found is stating that the 3000 has a separate motor for the bobbin winding. So that isn't the case?
It was difficult to see when you were explaining about the position of the take-up leverwhen threading the needle. The camera needed to be a bit higher.

Thank you so much for your tutorial. This helped me so much. I was threading my bobbin wrong and my needle. I know how to do it now thanks to you.
Great to hear!
Thanks, you are an excellent instructor!
I appreciate that!
Super helpful. I'm brand new. Thanks.

How do you use the decorative stitching function
There is a large knob below the hand wheel that you can use to select different stitches.

my top string wont loop with the bobbin string, what should i do?
Try rethreading both top thread and bobbin exactly as shown.

Thanks for the input.
You went way too fast for someone who is just learning a new Janome
You can use the pause button in the video, or watch it several times. 'Hope this helps.
