Finally a comprehensive how to video on cleaning and oiling a sewing machine. Now I can confidently maintain my machine and only take it in when it needs a maintenance svc.Thank you so much!.
I've found that the bobbin case itself also collects dust, so I make sure to brush all over it - the underside too - before placing it back in the machine.
This is an excellent instructional vid, and beautifully filmed for macro. But,…you have titled it wrong. Should be HD3000 instead. You will get more hits if you edit this.
Question please. I am new to this machine and if i pick up the speed to sew a straight line, That is all I've done so far. it squeels at me. I am getting used to it and it still seems to sew ok but I know that it isn't right. Any suggestions please? Suzi
Yeah, doesn’t sound right Suzi. This machine should purrr (even on a hard job). Could be one of the belts or gears slipping. If you purchased new, it comes with an excellent warranty, but if you acquired second hand, (as I did) I would be getting it looked at by a technician.

So nice to see a video on an old fashioned mechanical model! I have a Janome from the early 2000's- all mechanical, still works like a champ!
Thanks to this video, I've managed to find the service manaul for my Janome MyExcel 23L, which is very similar to this model. Appreciated.
Quick and to the point!!! Great video thank you!

Thank you for the informative video
You are welcome!
Good video but I couldn't tell how you routed the bobbin at the end. Thank you for preparing it.
How to do the feed dog?

THANKS so much for pointing out
Does this cleaning and oiling apply to the hd5000 as well? Thx!
Yes. It’s the same.
