I went to my silver dealer and purchased all of his available Junk Silver. One bag full of silver Barber Half Dollars, Barber Quarters, and Barber Dimes! Knowing that he rarely picks through them, I decided to buy them all in hopes of maybe adding a few upgrades to my album, or possibly scoring a better date or two. I did not expect to find so many rare coins (including some better dates and even a few RARE Barber coins that I could add to my coin collection and coin albums in this purchase... In this video, I will search through all the old Silver coins from the bags. I will be looking for key dates, semi key dates, upgrades, and of course and varieties within the years I hunt. Hopefully you all enjoy this video! As always - Happy Hunting and Thanks for Watching AND keep Stacking that silver my friends!!! I work at a shop, and around a month ago I found a 1901-S quarter in a big lot of junk silver. There were only a couple Barbers in there too. It’s the rarest thing I’ve found sorting there for years!
Your Barber book is like my wheat book. All from bulk buys and missing one. I need the 09 s VDB then it’s done. Everything else was bought for 5-6 cents each.
I got myself a few Mercs at the coin shop yesterday. Just a small amount, five Merc dimes, all older Philly ones for 19x face. But it gave me enough to finally start a Merc book! Previously I only had one.
Barber halves are one of my favorite coins. And it’s so unusual to see a small hoard of them sorted through. I was waiting with baited breath to see what you found. Congrats on finding an 1896 s for the book!
Yes, we DID have fun! Love the enthusiasm and passion that you share the info with. Next we'll have to get you to mention all the known errors and varieties that may be found on specific ones 👍, thank you sir for another great vid.
That must have been the longest slo-mo silver dump in the history of TH-cam! 🤣 Thanks for giving us a chance to see some old silver! Congrats on filling a spot in the album!
LMAO - yeah, I filmed it in super slo mo and even sped it up as best as I could without distorting the video... I won't use that setting next time. LMAO!
Heck yeah - buying Barbers at 20x face? All. Day. Long! And you had some great scores! Besides the "better dates/mints" - getting any other mint besides Philly is sweet - and you had a TON of other mints! Another great video!
is that really a good deal? i sold some junk silver, mainly walkers and washington quarters, but also had barber halves, quarters as well as morgans dollars, and i sold em all at 20 FV. do you think i wouldve gotten more for it?
It depends. Did you sell your coins to a coin dealer or an individual? Coin dealers will give you less than what they are worth, because they have to then re-sell it for a profit. Right now, silver is at $24.26 an ounce - and my local coin store is buying 90% silver at $16.44 times face - and this includes Barbers. They are paying $18 for 1921 Morgans and $25 for 1904 Morgans and earlier. Also, the condition of the coins matters as well - as nearly-uncirculated coins will fetch a premium over heavily-circulated coins. I would say that if you sold everything all at once, and if you didn't have any "rare" coins, you probably did okay. I usually can buy heavily-circulated Barbers for 22-26 times face - depending upon the price of silver. But I have never seen it at 20 times face when silver is at $24 an ounce. An individual might have given you more money for it - but again, it all depends upon the condition of the coins. @@BlackBird7790NWR
@@SouthernMetalyeah honestly, it was to an individual, and pure silver content wise, the whole lot of coins was around $630, but was paid a lil over $800 for em, so it was around 22x FV iirc (36.50 FV), so i guess i did good
Just a thought but I have a spreadsheet of the inventory in my book with a number grade on it so when I come across a coin in the junk silver that I think might beat the book I just put a number grade on that coin go and look at my spreadsheet and I'll know if it's an upgrade
No way!!! That's awesome. 5 or so years ago a bank gave me a bag of pennies that must have came from their customer return machine. Found 20 Indian heads and 107 wheat pennies. Was so excited went back to that bank and asked to buy all the pennies they would sell me. Found a few more older ones but none of the bags were a good as the first. I am mad at myself I didn't get other denominations. I didn't even think about it was just so Into searching pennies then. Oh well live and learn
I work at a bank and I kid you not, we had a mom and pop grocery store bring in a deposit that had a handful of Eisenhowers and a 1890's MORGAN Dollar mixed in with the change. The other teller told me he wasn't going to take the Morgan because he didn't think it was US currency!
I started collecting about a year ago when i was 14 because i thought it was cool that a coin worth 25¢ could be worth way more currently i have a a little under a pound of junk silver including a 1857-O Half-dime in around a VF condition
I lost my 1904P half and 1907O quarter I dug up with a metal detector so I’m bumming. Still got some Barber dimes my neighbor sold me and my only SLQ my uncle gave me. A 1927D.
Hi I hope all is well. I have a question if that's ok? What is the proper way to clean a coin without changing its value? Does the cleaning method different for different dominations, style or age of a coin?
"Hey, guys, I just lost a grand on this purchase. But, hey, if I sound positive that will make you all keep coming back so I can make my money back on your dime. Thanks. 😄

Nice score! And a good buy as whole.
Nice additions to your collection.
Nice!! Always nice to get some less common ones!
I always love to see older U.S. silver!
Very nice hunt...oh and the slo mo is the best part nothing like that slow windchime sound of silver
Love it!! Junk silver is my favorite!!
"Good Goodies" for sure.
Yes sir!
Great barber hunt good sir, lots of "good goodies" and I am glad my youtube feed had me "look at this"!

My son managed to pop a 1909 o Barber quarter out of a bank box last week.

Yeah that's a dream :) We only manage 1-2 IHP per year hunting one box per week.
I will say 1 thing if that 1894 s Barber Quarter was a Dime you would strike Hella Gold if it was the dime version

10:20 I wonder how heavy that album is?
Quick question, what brand of coin folder book would you recommend?

😂
Cool👍😎
Hey man I got change today and I got a 1995 $1 note the playe # is 168 its in pretty good shape as well .
I'd love silver at 20× face
6:24 wait rob thats not a philly i see a faint "O" there 😳
Looks like it could be. Great eye!
I've seen a silver dime before
Hi I hope all is well. I have a question if that's ok? What is the proper way to clean a coin without changing its value? Does the cleaning method different for different dominations, style or age of a coin?
Ultrasonic cleaner is probably the best way.
@@JJVPlayz090 Hi thanks. Can you recommend a good one?
@@tidemovernever clean your coins!!!! Never
Always first ROB
Silver will never drop to zero unlike paper currency.
@Rob Finds Treasures 2023 -P there a die crack in the FG I have found 13 of them
Nice!
One of my 3 Grandma's passed away on October 31st 2023
And in her bag of Penny's. I found a 1927 Wheat Penny so yeah sad:(
How to get this much? Where to get them?
👍
39th 👍! HI ROB!
Bro how much money has your LCS left on the table by missing all of these rare dates? 😅
It's not an LCS, he only deals in Silver and Gold, not numismatic stuff (most of the time).
been a while since you did a videoi
💯
Rob I would like to buy some of those Barbers please! I sent you an email. Thank you my friend!
I am planning on auctioning some on Wednesday or Friday brother. I got your list too so I will see what I got available.
54 40 or fight?
You keep buying all these coins and silver, but your wifes wedding ring is a chip of a diamond! Sup with that?
The ring is worthless but it makes her happy. Let Rob keep stacking the real value while she is happy shhhhhhhh
50th like 😁
Omg too slow lol
LOL yeah, the super slow mo was definitely too slow.
Although I like your videos I don't care for the slo-mo when you dump the coins out.
I love it!
It tickles the under carriage no?
Then speed up the video
That one was weird. Triggered anxiety lol
Haha, I actually loved it. It pulled me in for more.
"Hey, guys, I just lost a grand on this purchase. But, hey, if I sound positive that will make you all keep coming back so I can make my money back on your dime. Thanks. 😄
Lost money???? Buying junk silver? Never lose money buying junk. Won't be able to get it for so cheap soon
Kinda defeats your whole searching rolls to find coins huh by buying a bag
Nope. I like to do both.
Great hunt!
