Since I have had several requests for me to do another local coin shop (LCS) pickup video, as well as a junk silver purchase and hunt, I decided to go to my Local Silver Coin Dealer and kill 2 birds with one stone!
I grabbed $254.50 Face Value in Junk Silver in a Bag filled with all of his available Half Dollars, Quarters, and Mercury Dimes - which I was hoping would contain some key or semi-key dates!
Hopefully you all enjoy this video! I may also hit up some pawn shops and thrift stores to see if there are any hidden treasures hanging out in there too!

collin johnes it’s referred to as junk silver due to being less than .925 silver. It’s also helpful to refer to it as junk when you buy it so they don’t try to mark it up. I prefer to call it Constitutional Silver and did so after the first few mentions of it being junk in the intro. Thanks for watching and stay positive my friend. Rob

$254.50 FV is an AMAZING haul! I could watch Constitutional Silver hauls all day long
I'm drooling looking at that bag. That being said, we just found a BU 1954 Benji, a 1943 S Walker, and two 1964 Kennedys in our two box half dollar hunt.

Found a nice stack of silver at work yesterday. 4 Mercurys 16 Rosies. 1 SLQ and 28 Washington quarters and only paid face value for them.

I have a 1889 gold plated half dollar
Can some of each denomination. The most beaten to crap ones you got. Wanna start collecting silver but have none yet. Cant afford good shaped ones so dateless coins or damaged ones are perfectly fine with me
Its amazing how much of the world's silver is still locked away in old coinage. Incredible to think that people used to have that as regular pocket change, as late as 1964. Awesome haul.

Check with your local gold/silver dealers (shops). Those We Buy Gold places do buy silver too (most cases). Many aren't coin collectors and just sell the silver over what they paid so you can get lucky!
Melt value around $3,200? How much of a premium over that? Another hundred or two?

I bought $10 face value in finds at the MOON coin show two weeks ago for$123. Included were a 1945 micro s, two barbers, and only one Rosie ( the rest were mercs.) One of the coins might be a 1942/41 Denver, but it's really hard to tell. Now to watch the rest of this video...

All of the coin shops near me are currently selling junk silver for around 13 times $1 face. My goal is to have $1k thousand face EACH of 90% percent constitutional junk silver quarters, dimes, and halves making a total of $3k thousand face. It may take a while-lol. I tend to avoid the Standing Liberty quarters and anything Barber since they seem to always be too worn. Anyways, keep stacking Rob!

Went to my doctor and we are still trying to figure out with new specialists within my doctor's affiliated hospital what avenue to take. Possible surgery and/or lifelong PICC line with TPN nutrition administered by a home healthcare nurse. If they can't find a Home Health that can accept my case, I will be commuting regularly to the transfusion department of my hospital where they currently care for the wound on my back. Again, thank you so much for your kindness. You have helped me in so many ways, you just really don't know. I'm literally crying while typing this because of it. My appreciation for you and the community that you brought me into and brought me into more light, means so much to me that I just can't stop the tears. I'm forever grateful..... Today was my first big score of silver i got a few rolls of halfs first one i opened was all silvers!!! 14 -40 % and 6-90% man what a rush that was!!!!

i’d gladly buy all that for $254. i got my birthday this coming Monday so maybe my local coin dealer will have some silver bulk i can buy with my birthday money
I only go through various coin shops junk silver to pull out anything of real value. I find AU and MS sometimes and look for double dies and errors.
Go to a Buy and Gold Silver Shop sometimes you can buy it cheaper than a coin dealer and some times better quality because sometimes it has not been picked through yet.
Nice coin's I always keep my fingers crossed in hope of getting a barber. I finely found a coin shop it's two's from me but I will be checking them out soon.
I have a teens merc with a d mintmark but I can’t tell what the date is so how would I go about doing that I’m only 14 so I don’t have much experience with this kind of stuff

Grabbed a worn ( but still visible) capped bust dime from a Canadian dime bin at a flea market for $2. Made my week, my first one

Guess everyone likes what they like....I just dont get the draw to constitutional silver. I much prefer .999 or .9999 bullion
Justin Russell other than its silver content, most bullion has zero numismatic or additional value over spot. You’ll pay a premium for it but won’t be able to use it as currency over it’s silver value. At least with constitutional silver there is typically an “extra” collectibility value and you could also be so fortunate to score a few better dates with bulk purchases. Also, there is the “thrill of the hunt” that generally is missing in a bulk bullion buy. Those are my reasons for enjoying constitutional silver over bullion. That being said, I do love hand poured silver and the like.

@@jay-rus4437 - What is also not being said, is that World demand is for .999 and .9999 Silver. That is just one of the reasons Bullion is so popular.
OldSchoolR&R ....okay man...I picked up some constitutional this week after my comment. Grabbed some half dollars...$10 face Kennedy, $15 face Franklins, $5 face walking liberty.
Now that Ive got them they are pretty cool actually. They definitely wont be a significant part of my silver stacking, but I could see stacking $100 face or so.
@@jay-rus4437 - Yeah. Silver Halves are cool to have. Hope you got it at a good price. IMO it doesn't hurt to have a small percentage in your Stack. But, I don't believe it should be the majority or sole type of Silver to hold. At this point in time, it simply would not make investing sense.

As far as I can tell, ~ 70 cents over spot for Washington quarters and Roosevelt Dimes. More for Mercury and Barbers.

Basically, how much should I pay for junk silver? Any cost to spot differences between coins? How should I buy it; random denomination or specific rolls? (Ebay seems to be over priced. SD Bullion and Provident Metals seem to have the lowest premiums.)
