  • A Long overdue appearance by Pioneer has arrived. No mucking about, this unit is an RGB capable 1990's era 50" display. Pioneer is known for its masterful Plasma Kuro TVs and monitors. Pioneer was also very respected in the field of rear projection television with its tail end ELITE models, how well does this earlier model fair?

    Hello. I made a comment on your BO mx5000 video. Seems like you know your stuff. Could you read my comment and try answering it?
    It's about those corrosive batteries and a very strong smell. I have that exact model. However, my tv does not turn of after 45min like the one in your video.
    Thus far you are the only one here on YT that has a video about that exact model.
    Cheers from Sweden
    Cheers.

    Uhhh i'd love one of these. I just recently picked up a CLD laserdisc player and it would go perfectly. Great find, mate 👍

    Always wondered who made the best rear projection CRT.
    We had a Mitsubishi that worked excellent for years.
    I got a free Mitsubishi that is getting power but wont do anything even while pressing the button.
    The button panel does get 3v when i press the power on.
    The lens has a small crack but its VINTAGE. I think all it has is one composite hookup and an antenna/cable hookup.
    Shame though because it looks like a very nice unit back in the day.

    Rear projection has been neglected for too long. The Americans have loads of 60-inch 4:3 models, and they can't scrap them fast enough.

      lol yes there are more scrapping videos than demonstration vids.

      For good reason. Thank God my family never had one of those. They're awful! Can't see a bloody thing!

    eek, convergence! My first proper home theater was based on a ceiling mounted CRT projector. That thing would fall out of convergence if you looked at it funny. Of course, people stomping around upstairs certainly didn't help

      @rgbrob  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      oh dear even up on ceiling it would drift, that is annoying

    • @rgbrob
      @rgbrob  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      lol oh that would be annoying to have the urge to check midway through a movie. At some stage I will be covering projectors like the G70 so the fun and games will be happening....
